Llandysul & District Canine Society

Llandysul Limit Show 2024.

Thank you to the show committee for inviting me to judge Hounds, Gundogs, Terriers and the AV classes at the limit show this year. A mention must go to my excellent steward Gareth, who kept the ring moving, and was one of the clearest voices I have ever heard!

AVNSC Hound Puppy.

2/4

1st Fleetwood's Tangaer Iced Bun. A very eye catching 9 month old male PBGV. There is so much to like about him, he has an endearing expression. He was moderate at all points, with an oval skull and square muzzle. He has a lovely dark eye, giving that look of intelligence, and the face is framed with that lovely breed typical beard and moustache. Low set ears that fold in, a well laid back shoulder, with a deep chest that is well let down to elbow. He has a strong and level top line, holding this on the move, leading to a thick base of tail, carried as a sabre. Free moving front and back, and his coat is coming well for his age. An easy BP decision.

2. Bayley's Ohoka Top Model.

A sweet 6 month old bitch with such a beautiful expression. So light on her feet, and elegant in profile and on the stack. She has a long and lean head, with an oval eye, small rose ears, and a clean neck leading into a well laid shoulder with straight forearm. She has a deep chest and brisket with well sprung ribs. Arch over loin and definite tuck up. She has well let down hocks, and with a long and easy stride.

Lloyd’s Penwincoed Amazing Grace

15 month Whippet bitch. A classic outline, showing elegance and grace, but also power and drive on the move. She has a clean neck and head, which is lovely, long and lean. She is wide between the eyes, intelligent expression, rose ear, deep chest and brisket. She has the correct arch over the loin, and a definite tuck up. Tail reaches to hock, and is carried well on the move. She is so feminine throughout, and was a delight to go over and watch. She was a well deserved Best AVNSC.

2. Cornell’s Bravair Pawsforthought From Bronllys.

An 11 Month old Beagle male. Such a typical beagle head and expression. Masculine but not coarse. A strong level top line with a well set tail. Low set ears, hanging close to the cheeks. Length of neck was shown to advantage when sniffing the floor on the go round! Good substance throughout, with good bone. Chest well let down with well sprung ribs. He had a long reaching stride and held his top line well on the move.

Williams’ Layaways Now and Forever Bodlon

This 8.5 year old whippet bitch was the outstanding find here. She did not show her age at all, and held her own on the move. Classic long and lean head, an intelligent expression from correct colour and shape eye, lending that beautiful femininity to her. She was excellent in conformation, and was so unlucky to come up against the junior winner in the challenge. She was elegant, classy and completely enjoying herself. I was delighted to have her back under me in the AV Veteran class, which she won with ease, and the Best Veteran in Show award was so well deserved. She is a credit to her owner.

2. Lloyd’s Jothryn Beyond Blonde Avec Penwincoed.

A 2 year whippet bitch. Slightly taller than 1st, but well put together. Good drive from well muscled rear, holding a good top line on the move, with the correct arch over her loin. Her head was delicate, but not weak. She has a lovely expression.
