Irish Wolfhound Post Graduate (4,1)
1. Allitt’s US Airforce At Jascarah Of Kind Howard Legends. A good size with ample strength and correct overall proportions. Masculine head and lovely expression. Could have some more angulation in front but is well filled through the body and won the class on his soundness up and down. Would like to see him in a bigger ring. BOB.
2. McNulty’s Wyldwensley Kes. A fairly well made and shapely dog, slightly better in front than 1. He had a flowing outline with good depth. A touch close in the rear and crabbing on the move on the day.
3. Taylor’s Bribiba’s Highland Prince.
Irish Wolfhound Open (3,0)
1. McNulty’s Wyldwensley Kes. Moved better in this class and preferred his shape and proportions to 2.
2. Taylor’s Bribiba’s Calamity Jane. Liked her head and expression, good strong neck and a well angulated front. Would like more leg length for ideal proportions and a little flat in topline on the day. Moved light on her feet and coped with the ring size well.
3. Allitt’s Sirius at Jascarah D’Ardalie.
Deerhound Post Graduate (3,0)
1. Cumberland & Constantine’s Zeldini Anju at Kaleginy. A shapely bitch with a lovely head and expression, won on maturity if nothing else. Nicely laid shoulders and return of upper arm, with balanced hindquarters. Could be a bit more broad across the back. Easy and light on the move.
2. Cumberland & Constantine’s Kaleginy Shogun. Still very much a baby but what a handsome, quality and masculine puppy he is. Well made all through and a super frame to grow into. Long stride on the move. BP & HP4.
3. Pounder’s Kynroan Lindisfeorna.
Deerhound Open (4,1)
1. Cumberland & Constantine’s Ch Kwaricott Kaleginy Bettinsoli. Not small but a typical and quality bitch with a classic curvy outline. Not quite the front angulation or spring of pastern as 2, but scored in head, shape and proportions. Lovely movement. BOB & HG4.
2. Pounder’s Zeldini Link. More rangey in type standing over good ground, preferred the front throughout but not the shape of 1. Has a long and easy profile stride, but could be stronger going away. Lovely temperament.
3. Constantine’s Cotherstone Serenade at Kaleginy.
Rhodesian Ridgeback Post Graduate (2,1)
1. Greeves’ Penholda Sweet Lady JW. Feminine bitch of good size and shape. Correct head proportions and expression. Rather straight in upper arm and out at the elbow. Moves loose coming towards but does have reach in profile with a free stride.
Rhodesian Ridgeback Open (4,0)
1. Tanner & Balwin’s Barfordridge Rudolph. Best for balance and outline on the stack. Handsome head with super expression. Long neck into a well made through. Lengthy ribcage and strong loin. Straightens in the rear on the move lacking some drive and spoiling his topline but is sound in front and has a free stride. BOB.
2. Scanlon’s Kinabula’s All About The Bass JW ShCEc OSW. Now a veteran but retaining many of the same qualities since I last judged her, particularly her showmanship! Just looking a little overdone in the rear now losing her outline and overall balance. Moved with freedom and drive.
3. Brewis’ Barfordridge Wilhelmina of Janak.
Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired) Post Graduate (4,1)
1. Mason’s Marvale Crimson Sunbird at Teckeltown. Two quality young Dachshunds, preferred the length of head, ground clearance and front movement of 1, though 2 scored in layback of shoulder over 1. Both had good reach and drive in profile. Will swap places many times I’m sure.
2. Mason’s Teckeltown Lord Of The Rings.
3. Smith’s Ruichango Hips Don’t Lie.
Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired) Open (2,0)
1. Mason’s Teckeltown Surspicious Mind. Lovely head and expression, held on a good neck and front constructions. Excelled on the move with super reach and drive holding his topline, just preferred the proportions and ground clearance of the PG winner for BOB.
2. Scott’s Bronia Chevalier. Masculine head with good balance to skull and muzzle, correct eye and expression. Actually preferred his overall proportions, but not quite so well angulated in front and not the reach and drive on the move as 1. Admired his bold carriage.
Dachshund (Miniature Long-Haired) Post Graduate (2,0)
1. Mason’s Crownlakes Million Dreams. Very much a baby, just 6 months. Presents a lovely shape and moved with good reach and drive. Head needs to break and overall just needs time but has quality.
2. Kirby’s Deliciaedax Kiss And Tell. A leggier dog, liked his head and eye, good neck, not the front construction or movement of 1. Holds a level topline on the move.
Dachshund (Miniature Long-Haired) Open (1,0)
1. Mason’s Crownlakes Million Dollars. Litter sister to the winner of PG. Preferred her head and front movement. Super outline and proportions. Would like a longer ribcage. Well angulated hindquarters giving drive on the move. BOB & BP.
Borzoi Post Graduate (2,0)
1. Dover’s Everwyck Holden Psammead at Keanver. Understandably, still very immature but presented a more typical outline and had better overall proportions. A more sound and free stride on the move. BP.
2. Smith’s Rosskaja Penderyn. Head of good proportions on a lengthy neck. Bladed bone and OK feet. Needs time to develop in topline and settle in front movement.
Borzoi Open (2,0)
1. Dover’s Palamedees Arian Khrysis at Keanver JW. Presents a balanced and shapely outline. Masculine head of good proportions, correct eye and expression. Quite moderate in front angulation but with balanced rear. Really true up and down and fairly easy profile movement. BOB.
2. Smith’s Chalksville Saskia. Still quite raw in body but has enough shape to topline. Feminine head with good eye and expression. Needs more front angulation which showed in movement.
Basenji Post Graduate (2,0)
1. Knowles’ Sarawana Dragon’s Conquest. Ultra feminine on a light build and leggy proportions. Lovely head detail and wrinkle. Short and level back, with a well set tail. Free profile movement. BP.
2. Knowles’ Sarawana Dragonfire Rising. Litter sister to 1 and many of the same comments apply, both very typey. She is less mature but her front movement has settled since I judged her earlier in the year.
Basenji Open (2,1)
1. Knowles’ Ch Bushwacker Dragon Tattoo at Sarawana JW. A very typical example with beauty and quality in abundance. Most beautiful head of correct proportions, typical inscrutable expression with wrinkle and small high-set ears. A super mover in all directions with a typical swinging stride. BOB & HG1.
AVNSC Puppy (1,0)
1. Dickinson’s Dakotadax Legend Of Zelda. Dachshund (Wire-Haired). Just 6 months and a very exuberant puppy with a decent outline and proportions. Really lovely head and expression. Could have a touch more layback of shoulder. A sound mover up and down and just needs to settle.
AVNSC Open (7,2)
1. Ord & Ainsley’s Cloudside Sebastian of Marnadee JW. Dachshund (Wire-Haired). Undoubtedly masculine and handsome male, shown in super condition and has a delightful temperament. Liked his head and expression, good neck into a very well made front. Firm body and ribbing, if a little heavy looking, I would prefer more clearance. Strong hindquarters. Sound, active mover. BAVNSC.
2. Dickinson’s Derdledash Skyfall at Dakotadax. Dachshund (Wire-Haired). A very showy. puppy of super proportions and balance. Really liked her flow of outline; long neck, well laid shoulders and level topline. Stands over her front very well. A touch wide coming towards but otherwise a free and easy mover. BP & HPG1.
3. Stuart’s Dream Maker from Sufayre. Hamiltonstovare.
Hound Group
1. Knowles’ Ch Bushwacker Dragon Tattoo at Sarawana JW – Basenji.
2. Jones’ Clairedale Fusilier – Beagle. A compact and sturdy male with a clean-cut outline. Lovely head and sweet expression with well set leathers. Moving well on the day holding his outline.
3. Parkinson’s Groomsville Hologem Heavens Dream – Whippet. An athletic and racy bitch with super proportions and shapely outline. Lacks just a little finish in body. Sound mover with good footfall.
4. Cumberland & Constantine’s Ch Kwaricott Kaleginy Bettinsoli – Deerhound.
Puppy Hound Group
1. Dickinson’s Derdledash Skyfall at Dakotadax – Dachshund (Wire-Haired).
2. Knowles’ Sarawana Dragon’s Conquest – Basenji.
3. Uggeri’s Five Star Ladies Soulad by Bohosoul – Whippet. A quality puppy with a lovely outline and of the correction proportions, with good leg length. Smooth and flowing curves. Just needs to strengthen in the rear.
4. Cumberland & Constantine’s Kaleginy Shogun – Deerhound.
AV Hound Puppy (20,15)
1. Butters & Theobold’s Molesend Ibis of Breskar. Beagle. A lovely baby. Has correct proportions and her well angulated quarters are balanced fore and aft. Can develop in head still but has a lovely expression. Super temperament and moving with pleasing reach and drive.
2. Knowles’ Sarawana Dragonfire Rising. Basenji.
AV Hound Open (13,8)
1. Salkeld & Graham’s Dalerafenn Follow A Dream. Whippet. A very typey bitch with such a smooth and curvy outline. Long neck into well laid shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good spring and depth of rib with definite tuck up. Could maybe have a little less hind angulation. A sound and precise mover.
2. Tanner & Baldwin’s Barfordridge Magda. Rhodesian Ridgeback.
AV Hound Veteran (10,3)
1. Jones’ Ch Newlin Preston to Clairdale JW. Beagle. A well deserved Champion with many attributes. Super head and expression, lovely neck into shoulder and a very well made front overall, balanced in rear quarters. A sound and enthusiastic mover, I would just like him more compact.
2. Knowles’ Ch Tokaji Klassic Trickster at Sarawana VW. Basenji. Another quality boy, leggy and compact with such an easy stride. Would prefer less width of skull. Certainly all of a piece.
