Cheshire Agricultural Society

My thanks to the hard-working Cheshire County Show committee for the invite to judge at their lovely, well organised and run premier open show. My thanks to my two very professional stewards too.

Norwegian Buhund

Cobb, Cobb & Kent Leggatts Dakota At Knytshall. This boy stood alone but he did it with pride! Upstanding dark coated lad who was in good condition. Nice head, good bite and pigment. Moved well around the ring in all directions. BOB

Shetland Sheepdogs

Puppy/Junior/Post Grad Dog: 1st Ferguson’s Dinmore Wild Blue Yonder of Fervaila. Good size maturing male covered in a nice coat for his age. Lovely topline and good front. Nice head with good ears and eyes. Moved well with his handler around the ring.

Limit Dog: Two lovely boys in this class. 1st Mottram’s Lundecock’s Hoopie-Doo at Lochkaren JW (Imp Swe) BD & RBOB, I loved his shape and balance and he looked a picture both stood and on the move when he smoothly covered the ground. He had a fabulous double coat in great condition. Lovely head piece into an arched neck. Nicely angulated front and rear. Handled well. 2nd Barrowclough’s Shadowess Lockdown Hero, just not the finish as 1st but nonetheless a lovely boy who effortlessly covered the ground. He had a the required topline with nice sweep over his loin. Sweet expression with good ears and eyes.

Open Dog: 1st Gamble’s Solyric Inaugural Gold JW OSW. A sweet package who really shows himself off in the ring. Abundant coat in great condition. Lovely head and expression, good eyes and ear placement. Easy to watch in all directions on the move. Handled and presented so well. RBD

Puppy Bitch: 1st Hateley’s Mohnesee Lullaby Ice, eye-catching blue merle who really showed herself off in the ring. Feminine throughout with a sweet expression. Nicely angulated rear to drive her effortless movement around the ring. I’m sure one to watch BP. 2nd Hayhurst’s Milesend Flash Dance at Keycharm, another impressive feminine girl who was eye catching on stance and on the move. Lovely head and tipped well set ears. Good neck leading into well placed shoulders. Another who will have a bright future. 3rd Whitley’s Milesend Misty Moonlite

Junior Bitch: 1st Hateley’s Mohnesee Lullaby Ice, 2nd Hayhurst’s Keycharm Sweet Candy, as sweet as her name suggests. Plain sable with a maturing coat in good condition. Balanced outline and feminine throughout. Pretty head with good eyes. Just preferred the movement of 1st today.

Post Grad Bitch: 1st Hateley’s Mohnesee Maebelle JW. Nice outline on this feminine girl. She has a pretty head and uses her ears well. Good neck, best front in this class. Nice topline with sweep over loin. Moved well with her handler RBB 2nd Barrowclough Shadowess Ginger Biscuit, nicely presented and handled girl who is covered in a lovely coat of good texture. Moved nicely around the ring with a good side gait, just preferred the front of 1. 3rd Hughes’ Viola Riviniana for Cochochr

Limit Bitch: 1st Rosslyn’s Balidorn Golden Amber Compact girl with a thick coat. For me had the better topline in the class with smooth outline and sweep over her loin. Nice on the move and really attentive to her handler. 2nd Hughes Afterglow Merino, sweet feminine girl who used her ears well. Not the front of one but a nice side profile on the move. Covered in a double coat of good condition.

Open Bitch: 1st Hateley’s Ch Lizmark Lullaby Moon over Mohnesee JW, this lady takes your eye at every glance. Glamourous blue coat, graceful outline, balanced, lovely head, free and easy on the move – today she had it all to win BB & BOB, a beautiful feminine example of the breed. Later in the day she was awarded Pastoral Group 2 – well done.
