Scottish Toy Dog, Open Show, 13th October 2024

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge and for all those who entered under me. It was a pleasure to have such a lovely entry. I would like to extend my thanks to the committee for making my visit so welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my short stay in Scotland. 

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 

Puppy Dog (3/0) 

1st McMurray’s Chadwick Perfect Tonight at Merryoth (IMP USA), 8 month old blenheim male, gorgeous youngster. Lovely masculine head with large dark eye and gentle expression. Kept topline throughout and a nice outline. Good body for his age. Well bent stifles with good rear angulation and moved with drive. In lovely condition and well marked. Best Puppy in Breed.  

2nd Linton’s Thekop’s Si Sinor, 6 month old b/t male, very raw baby. Beautiful head with large dark eye, soft expression and good ear framing. Maintained a nice outline on the stand. Good reach and drive for his age. In lovely coat and condition.  

3rd Deamer’s Ouzlewell’s Chancellor at Bankshill 

Limit Dog (6/1) 

1st Linton’s Thekop’s Black’n Gold, 3 year old b/t male, gorgeous soft masculine head. In excellent coat with great body, well ribbed. Correct dentition, large dark eye and nice ear framing. Moved with level topline and soundness throughout. Well set tail and good muscle.  

2nd Hamilton’s Kringleholme Continental, just over 18 month old blenheim male, another masculine yet gentle head with beautifully soft expression. Lovely front with well laid shoulders and straight bone. Nicely bodied with well sprung ribs and steady movement in profile.  

3rd Gow’s Legolas Aldaha Gold at Lyncraeg

Open Dog (4/0) 

1st Byer’s Braemarra Taylor at Linetive VW, an 8 year old male, in excellent condition. Masculine head with nice cushioning, soft expression and large dark eye. Lovely body and muscle with excellent ribbing and strong loin. Maintained a nice profile throughout and stood four square.  

2nd Kynaston’s Granasil Ovaltine JW, 18 month old ruby, beautifully soft yet masculine head with expressive large dark eyes and well set ears. Moved well in profile. In excellent coat with good spring of ribs, correct rear angulation and good tailset.

Veteran Dog/Bitch (7/0) 

1st Hamilton’s Kilbarchan’s Moonwalker, nearly 9 year old blenheim dog. It was a pleasure to see so many veteran males being exhibited and all in great health and condition. On the day, this exhibit stood out. Beautifully soft masculine expression with large dark eye and very well set and feathered ears. In excellent coat and condition with great body, well sprung ribs, good depth of chest and muscle. Nicely angled all over, well up on size but balanced throughout. Best Dog and Best Veteran in Breed.

Puppy Bitch (1/0) 

1st Linton’s Thekop’s Black Velvet, 6 month old b/t bitch. Very raw baby. Had a fun time enjoying her experience but showed a soft and sweet expression with good bone for a youngster. Nicely laid shoulders, good angulation and good tailset. Best Puppy Bitch.  

Junior Bitch (1/0) 

1st Deamer’s Tangledwood We Found Love at Bankshill, 13 month old blenheim, nicely marked with sweet head and expression, correct dentition. Very clean throughout with well laid shoulders and well bent stifles. Moved well with steady topline and good tail set.  

Limit Bitch (4/1) 

1st Water’s Sweetbriar A Singer, over 18 month old blenheim bitch. Petite and compact with feminine head and soft expression, complete with large dark eye, correct dentition and good length of neck. Maintained level topline throughout, correct tailset, and steady movement.  

2nd Maxwell’s Eildon Dream Elsa, 2 year old b/t bitch, nice head with feminine expression, in good coat and nice balance overall. Good body and chest with topline maintained throughout and good rear angulation. Nicely stood four square.  

3rd White’s Sweetest Of All at Carleny 

Open Bitch (4/2) 

1st Water’s Sweetbriar La Dee La JW, just over 3 year old blenheim bitch. Beautifully soft head with large dark eye, well framed ears and oozing expression. Good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders and excellent depth of chest. Maintained a level topline throughout with tail carried well. Well-knit through with compact balance and excellent angulation. A very neat and well presented bitch in excellent condition. BOB and pleased to see her take BIS.  

2nd Finlay-Krkwood's Ellemich Secret Love at Marisk, 18 month old blenheim bitch. An excellent head with soft feminine expression, large dark expressive eyes and well framed ears. In lovely condition and coat. Good depth of chest and angulation, with balance overall.
