I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this show. I thoroughly enjoyed the welcome and hospitality given. My thanks also to the exhibitors who entered under me. I felt privileged to judge some really lovely dogs.

I was looking for dogs that were ‘fit for function’ and am happy to say that I definitely found some.

Boxer

Postgraduate -Lathwell’s Liftonponds in the Swim at Wihtgar – Nearly 9 years old Brindle Girl. Happy girl with a waggy tail. Lovely dark eyes and moderate ears set well. Nice head and neck of ample length. Shoulders close lying with long upper arm. Parallel front. Moved steadily with strong hindquarters and good feet. Could be squarer in outline. RBOB & Best AV Working Veteran

Open – Lathwell’s Samsconat Paddy Saul at Wihtgar – 5 years old and all boy. Lovely head with good markings. Good glossy coat, good rib shape and outline. Moved well with reach and drive. Good topline and underline with ample neck. BOB & Group 1

Australian Shepherd

Puppy - Turner’s Just De Pomme Rosycheeks at Chakona (IMP CZE) – 10mths Red Merle Girl. Good bone and good outline. Feminine and intelligent expression. Lovely markings and good head shape. Correct eyes and ears. Moderately angulated and moved well once settled. Natural stump. Best Puppy & BOB & Pastoral Group 4

Open – Turners’s Dialynne Primavera at Chakona – 6 years Black Tri Girl. Good Bone, Good outline and moderate angulations. Attractive head, eyes and ears. Active girl who likes her food. Reserve BOB.

Border Collie

Puppy – Dalby’s Feels Like Heaven Amona Canis Among Axernamoon (IMP CZE) – 9 months Black and White Girl. Smooth and balanced outline. She has a good shape to her head and nice ears and eyes. She has a lovely topline and underline. She also has a correct coat and good front. She overreaches a bit on the rear movement at the moment. She is on the smaller side. Best Puppy.

Open – Dalby’s Hidden Bo Fedele Amico for Axernamoon (IMP RUS) 2.5 years old Black and White Boy. Good size. Lovely head, outline and underline. Good bone and chest shape. Very balanced angulation moving with reach and drive. BOB and Pastoral Group 1. Was delighted to see him go RBIS.

German Shepherd Dog

Postgraduate – Allsop’s Agacia Wins – 16 months old girl at her first show who gives lovely cuddles. She stands well and has a good head. She has good bone, correct coat texture and has good markings. Structurally she has the ability to move really well – which she does once settled. BOB

Open –1) Nolcini’s CH Broadmaynes Eclipse to Nolmacdon JW, ShCM, SHCEx, VW – 11 years old Boy with a lovely head, eyes and ears. He has good a good chest and good bone. Good outline and underline. He moved well. RBOB

2) Jones’s Dakamar Amazing Journey (IMP USA) – 4 years old Boy. Good bone and good chest. Longer in body than 1 and not as strong in head.

AV Imported Breed Register Pastoral

Open – Dalby’s Sherry Amour L’Avocat De La Tour Avec Axernamoon (IMP FRA) – Picardy Sheepdog. 2.5 year old girl. Medium sized, well muscled not heavy or coarse. She is elegant standing and moving. She is also rugged in appearance with the correct texture to her coat and high set ears. Eyes Dark and ears well set with rounded tips. Her neck is muscular and she has balanced angulations front and rear. She has a good topline and underline and rounded feet. She has the correct effortless and fluid movement with moderate reach – covering the ground efficiently. Best Imported Breed Register Pastoral & Pastoral Group 3

AVNSC Pastoral

Puppy – Steven’s Makaylen Master of Scotch – Old English Sheepdog. 10 months boy. Good square outline with nice head. Daisy cutting movement. Good bone, Correct texture to profuse coat, lovely temperament and correct topline. Best Puppy and Puppy Group 1.

Post Graduate –1) Taylor’s Zenozak Look at Me Now – Samoyed. 2 years bitch. Good outline and temperament. Alert with smiling expression. Moved freely on a loose lead. Good wedged shape head, brown eyes and well set correct ears. Good Feet well feathered.

2) Dewart-White’s Blamorder Feeling Good. Smooth Collie. 5 years bitch. Lovely coat with correct texture. She moved well with powerful hind legs driving, a light long stride.

Open – 1) Rann’s Malandex Xplicitly Brown for Dramatrix. Bearded Collie. 9 years bitch. Lovely outline and fluid movement. Head in proportion to size with broad, flat square skull. Strong muzzle, moderate stop, good eyes and ears. Correct length and not overangulated. Moved covering the ground with minimum effort. BAVNSC and Group 2

2) Strong & Clinton’s CH Ohanaway Having a Blast at Mackjama. Swedish Vallhund. 4 years old boy. He has a good wedge shaped head with dark eyes and correct ear set, size and shape. He has good bone and a good outline and underline. Moved well but lacked the sparkle of 1 today.

AV Pastoral Veteran

1) Nolcini’s CH Broadmaynes Eclipse to Nolmacdon JW, ShCM, ShCEx, VW – German Shepherd Dog. More settled than in the breed class and moved so well he had to be my winner.

2) Turner’s Harmony Hill’s Ticket to Ryde To Chakona ShCM, (IMP USA) – Australian Shepherd 11 years bitch. Blue Merle. Good head, eyes and ears. She has good bone and a lovely topline she moved well and gave the German Shepherd a run for his money.
