Norfolk & Norwich Canine Society
Thank you to the Society for inviting me to judge today. It was extremely hot and I was very grateful to my stewards for their hard work in the heat. My thanks also go to the exhibitors some of whom had travelled a long way on a weekday.
Schipperke
Puppy (1,0)
1. Manners’s Ropec Keep Up With Me – 7 months black bitch. Very cute. Definitely lively and alert. Good outline and underline. Topline held on the move. Head of good shape – still to develop as is appropriate at this age. Ears of good shape and size, dark eyes and enough muzzle. Good tail set and shape.

1. Manners’s Ropec Just One More – 7 months black bitch – litter sister to Puppy. Nice ears and dark eyes. Better head (at the moment) than sister. Good chest shape. Good topline held on the move and good underline. More bone than sister. Good tail set and shape. Best Puppy today.

1. Cheatham’s CH Schipdale A Kind of Magic ShCEx – 5 years Black Male of good shape and length. Good topline held on the move and lovely head. Adequate bone. Good underline and chest. Best of Breed
2. Manners’s CH Chadbower Nevaeh Lahetti – 7 years Black Bitch. Good head. Lighter in bone than 1. Good shape. Lovely eyes and ears. Good topline held on the move and good underline. Reserve Best of Breed.
3. Wilson’s CH/IR CH Chadbower Nevan Henki Mit Clynalwin JW BEL/IR JCH CJW 18 CW 18/19 – 7 years Black Male – litter brother to 2. Despite being castrated he still has the correct coat. He has a good outline, good eyes and ears, good head and moves well.

1. Lee & Radcliffe’s Jaybob Child’s Play – Black and White Bitch. 8 Months old. Good bone. Lovely ears. Good head with correct stop, lovely eyes and nice muzzle. Good topline and tail length. Good underline and moved well. Best Puppy

1. Dalby’s Feels Like Heaven Amonia Canis Among Axernamoon (IMP CZE) – 13 months Black and White Bitch. This bitch is small but well constructed. She has a good outline and markings. She has a good shape to her head and lovely eyes and ears. She has a good topline which she holds on the move and a good underline. She also has good feet. She moves well and her movement is typical of a border collie.
2. Porter’s Nashdom Idol – 17 months Black and White Dog. Handsome boy with good eyes and tall ears. He has good markings and is a good size. He has a good topline.

1. Porter’s Kirkwind Shooting Star – 6 years Black and White Dog. Good eyes and ears. Strong head. Good markings and coat texture. Good bone and good tail carriage. He is a good length and height. Reserve Best of Breed

1. Dalby’s Sherry Amour L’Avocat De La Tour Avec Axernamoon (IMP FRA) – 2 years bitch. Picardy Sheepdog. Rugged in appearance. Medium sized and well muscled. Solid but not heavy or coarse. She is elegant standing and moving. She has the correct coat and texture to coat. Her head is in proportion to her size and she has good parallel planes. Her outline and underline and good. She moves effortlessly. Best Import Pastoral
Pastoral Group
This was a lovely group and I had plenty of choice.
1. Wray-Ramsden’s Caronlea Celtic Fire Starter for Takhiss JW OSW (AI) (IKC) Australian Shepherd – Red Male of 3 years who is a bit of a clown. He is definitely keen and alert. He has expressive eyes, correct ears and a neck of moderate length. He has well laid back shoulders and straight forearms. He is a good length and has strong hindquarters. He powered round the ring on good feet with a free and easy action. This resulted in him winning a strong group.
2. McKinlay, Johnson, Hall & Hall’s Kayarrach Wish Upon A Star -Estrella Mountain Dog- Bitch of 17 months. This is a lovely bitch who conveys strength and vigor. She is intelligent and alert. She has a good head with slightly rounded skull and moderate stop. Her eyes are oval in shape and provide a calm and intelligent expression. Her ears are small, triangular and rounded at the tips. She has a short muscular neck and body of correct length and height. She has moderate angulation on the rear and a correctly carried tail. She moved with ease around the ring and looked like she could go for a long time.
3. Dalby’s Sherry Amour L’Avocat De La Tour Avec Axernamoon (IMP FRA)- Picardy Sheepdog – moved so well in the group. Please see write up from Import Register Pastoral.
4. Frosdick’s CH Mistycor Apollo Black -Welsh Cardigan (Corgi) – Male brindle with solid bone. Sturdy and tough. Definitely capable of endurance moving consistently despite the heat. Good size yard dog with a good topline and moving well with reach and drive. Correct foxy head with moderate stop.
Pastoral Puppy Group
1. Collino’s Imaginist My Fair Lady – Collie (Rough) – 11 month sable bitch. Despite her young age this bitch is beautiful and has great dignity. She has a lovely head of correct shape and length of muzzle. It reminded me of dogs I saw many years ago. She has lovely eyes and correct ears held well providing that sweet collie expression. She has a lovely neck and sloping shoulders which balance her not over angulated rear. Her body is slightly longer than high and she has a good well sprung chest. She moved so well and I was delighted to hear that she went Best Puppy in Show
2. Howsom’s Melleonars Keep It Cool Branston at Jandoes (IMP DEU) – OES 11 months Dog. Strong square looking dog. Lovely head with good eyes and ears. He has the correct coat and texture. He had good bone and daisy cutting movement.
3. Rutterford’s Myter Black Tarquin at Stormhead – Shetland Sheepdog. 11 months Tricolour Dog. Typical outline and underline. He held his topline on the move and had a good head, eyes and ears. Moved well.
4. Bloomfield’s Samhaven Kumo – Samoyed Bitch 6 months. Pretty bitch who moved really well once her lead was dropped. She is of good shape and size with typical Samoyed sense of humour. She is graceful and free from coarseness. She has great endurance moving consistently in the heat. She has the ‘smiling’ expression and a lovely wedge shaped head.
AV Pastoral Veteran (11, 3)
1. Kearnan & Wilson’s IR/NL/BEL/LUX/HR/CH/INT CH Clunalwin’s Nukon – I was literally blown away by this dog and was not at all surprised to see a string of titles whilst doing this write up. At 8.5 years old this dog looks like he could work all day. His size, substance and shape were outstanding. His head was lovely and his movement was amazing. To top it all he had a waggy tail and was clearly loving every minute of being in the ring.
2. Elliot’s Sulanevaeh Raul Thane – BSD (Tervueren) 9 year old dog who displays the typical elegance in movement and outline. Good parallel planes. Good height and length. The topline and underline were correct. Coat of good texture. Lovely eyes and lovely feet. Moving so well.
AV Pastoral Special Beginners (5,3)
1. Reeder’s Carristina Bluebell Wood – Collie (Rough) 2 years 5 months Boy. Moved well with correct coat and texture.
2. Kennedy’s Oakcroft Aurora Dream at Donbeley 6 years bitch. Lovely eyes, ears and coat.

2. Flyma’s Felthorn Material Girl of Flymeg – Blue Merle Shetland Sheepdog of good shape. Head shape good, ears good and eyes good. Pretty girl.
AV Pastoral Open (3,2)
1. Rudd’s Lubin’s London Calling – Bearded Collie – 4 year old dog. Lean active dog longer than high. Head in proportion to size with broad, flat square skull. Good eyes and ears, neck of moderate length. Smooth and long reaching movement.
AV Special Beginners Dog (9,2)
1. Benge’s Wahnahnish St Gilles (IMP NLD) – Spaniel (Clumber) 6 months Dog. Well boned with thoughtful expression denoting strength. Large, square medium length head with decided occiput, heavy brows and deep stop. Vine-leaf shaped ears. Fairly long neck and long body. Ribs well developed for age. Presented as a typical Clumber with large round feet. Correct coat.
2. Picton & Ince’s Priorpark Point and Click JW – Rhodesian Ridgeback. 3 years Dog. Handsome, strong and active dog. Symmetrical in outline and presented as capable of endurance. Distinctive ridge on a correctly textured red coat. Chest not too wide, ribs moderately well sprung and movement free and active.
3. Wright’s La Scales Berlin with Chazbaz (IMP HUN) Spaniel (Cocker)
AV Special Beginners Bitch (18, 9)
1. Wright’s Chazbaz My Girl Melissa – Spaniel (Cocker) – 2 years black and tan. Great drive covering the ground well on the move. Good outline measuring approximately the same from withers to ground as from withers to root of tail. A tail which never stopped wagging. Square muzzle with distinct stop. Head not too fine or too coarse.
2. Stratton’s Justartee This is Me – Basenji. 7 months. Poised, intelligent and alert. Good head with wrinkle on forehead. Pricked ears. Dark almond shaped eyes. Neck of good length. Swift swinging stride on the move.
3. Kennedy’s Oakcroft Aurora Dream at Donbeley. Shetland Sheepdog
AV Vulnerable Native Breeds (25, 21)
1. Wensley’s CH Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW – Collie (Smooth) 4 year old dog. Stands with dignity. So balanced. No trace of coarseness. Well placed ears, lovely eyes on a typical head. Moved with absolute soundness.
2. Peter’s Ettology Cherry Bakewell at Troysel – ETT. 1 year old bitch. Elegant and compact. Alert. Good head with correct eye and ears. Extended trot on the move – flowing round the ring.
3. Wallington’s Ferndel Renzo at Rovinjdal – WSS.
