Sunderland & District Canine Society

Breed: Beagle

Sunderland & District Canine Society Open Show Sunday 24th November 2024

First of all I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge this show and to my efficient steward. Another thanks must go to the exhibitors as well for travelling in the rough weather conditions.

Beagles:

Puppy:

1) Molesend Ibis of Breskar. 7 month old tan and white bitch. Lovely head with correct placed leathers. Straight front with enough fore chest. Good lay of shoulder with a deep chest that the elbows meet up into. Level top line which is held well on the move. Well angulated rear end with enough bend of stifle that she used well to move around the ring. Lost out to Best Of Breed to her litter sister, due to carrying a bit of extra weight however I really like her. Reserve Best of Breed.

2) Molesend Jazzy. 7 month old longer cast tan and white bitch. Finer in head than one and would prefer slight more stop. Correct placed leathers. Good length of neck. Lay of shoulder ok. Good level top line which was held well on the move. Would prefer more bend of stifle. Preferred overall shape of 1.

Junior:

1) Molesend Impish. 7 month old broken tri bitch, litter sister to winner of puppy. Lovely head with a super expression. Good straight front with enough fore chest. Super length of neck going into a level top line. Correct shoulder placement. Overall a very nice outline with correct rear angulation. Moved well and could not be denied Best Of Breed and Best Puppy In Breed. Super pleased to see her take Hound Puppy Group 1 and Best Puppy in show, I’m sure it will be the first of many. Well done!

2) Stormpasture Surprise. 12 month old tri bitch. Head ok, would prefer darker eyes. Lovely length of neck. Good deep chest that the elbows meet up into. Correct placed stern.

Post Graduate:

1) Molesend Infinity. 7 month old blanket tri male, litter brother to winners of Puppy and Junior. Head ok would prefer slightly more domed and a bit more depth of muzzle however is still only a baby. Front ok with nice tight feet. He also possess the lovely neck his litter sister does. He has a level top line which was held well on the move. Correct rear angulation with well let down hocks.

2) Bayard Bee Good. 21 month old, compact tan and white male. Heavy head, would prefer less wrinkle. Front ok with nice tight feet. Well ribbed back. Good rear angulation that he used to power around the ring.

Open:

1) Clairdale Fusilier. 2 1/2 blanket tri male, who I have judged before. He has a masculine head with dark pigment and correct leathers. He has a good front with a decent amount of fore chest and tight feet. He has a lovely length of neck with well-placed shoulders. He moved well around the ring however I would just prefer him with better rear angulation.
