Breed: Beagle

West Bromwich & Wednesbury Canine Society Open Show 21st September 2024

First of all I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge this show and secondly thank you to my efficient stewards. Another thanks must go to the show manager as well, for moving us into another ring so we could complete judging quicker.

Beagles:

Puppy:

1) Clarismore Harlequin Lady, 10 month old blanket tri bitch. Nice head with dark pigment and good length of leathers. Front ok. Good lay of shoulder with a deep chest that the elbows meet. Level top line, with a good tail set. Would prefer a better bend of stifle. Best Puppy and Hound Puppy Group 2.

Junior:

1) Blunderhall Saucy Sally, 13 month old, compact blanket tri bitch. Lovely feminine head with dark pigment, correct eye shape and good length of leathers. She has a good front with very tight neat feet. Good length of neck, correct shoulder placement. Level top line which was held on the move and good bend of stifle with low let down hocks. Moved well. Best Of Breed.

2) Lilleagle Peter Rabbit, 14 month old, blanket tri male. Masculine head with good pigment, would prefer better length of leathers and less wrinkle. He has a good front with tight feet. Lovely length of neck with good shoulder placement. Good bend of stifle. Shown in great condition.

Post Graduate:

1) Blunderhall Flirty Gertie, 13 month old bitch, litter sister to the winner of Junior. She has a lovely head with a pretty expression and nice dark eyes. Front ok with tight feet. Nice length of neck, with a level topline. Compact in body. Good bend of stifle with low let down hocks.

Open:

1) Blunderhall Jacks The Lad, 19 month old, compact blanket tri male. Lovely head with good length of leathers and nice eye shape. He has a good front with enough fore chest for his size, good shoulder placement with a deep chest that the elbows meet into. Good bend of stifle with good hocks making a balanced picture. Moved round the ring well with ease. RBOB in the challenge due to just preferring the eye colour of the bitch.

2) Lilleagle Benjamin Bunny with Geeamour, 14 month old blanket tri male, shown in great condition. Masculine head- could have less wrinkle, dark pigment, would prefer longer leathers. Front ok with enough fore chest for his size. Good deep sternum with nice tight elbows. Correct tail set. Moved and handled well.
