Thanks to the committee for the kind invitation to judge, and to all exhibitors for their entries and sportsmanship with my decisions. I really enjoyed judging your lovely hounds, and had lots of quality specimens to chose from across all classes. Special thanks to my efficient Steward, Patricia who kept the ring running smoothly.

Class 118 Whippet Puppy (4,1)

1st 325 Brooks, Mrs Shonagh & Martin Brooks, Collooney For Your Eyes Only - Very attractive brindle male of 16 months, clean lines and without exaggeration, I loved his head, dark eyes, profile outline and balance. Lovely bone and feet, perfectly parallel forelegs and filled forechest. Long , arched neck smoothly inserted into well laid back shoulders, good return of upper arm giving good elbow placement. Good length of body, with nicely shaped ribcage with good top and underlines, strong loin. Nicely angled rear with low, powerful hocks. He moved out really well, true and ground covering. Pleased to award him Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd 326 Hutchison, Ms Mandy, Zenobia Just An Illusion with Sweetaurora 8 month old male who is very much a raw baby at this stage, but with lots to like. He is well balanced and has good proportions throughout. Nice bone, good feet and parallel forelegs. Clean arched neck, sloping shoulders and balanced rear angles. He moved true with an easy stride.

3rd 324 Beattie-Nash, Mrs Jennifer & Glenn Beattie-Nash, Railfield Rainstorm – a lovely baby, just needs to settle.

Class 119 Whippet Graduate (6) A lovely class, with different types and age range.

1st 332 Parkinson, Mrs Carol, Hologem You Were Made For Me – 21 months old brindle female who won this class on her accurate, free movement where she held her shape. She has lovely balance, a clean, shapely outline and lovely bone for size with perfectly straight forelegs. Beautiful front assembly, with long clean neck, lovely body shape with good length and depth, nice tuck up and rise over her loin. Well angled rear with excellent width of thigh and a low, powerful hock.

2nd 329 Corsar, Rosaline, Northwhip Zenyatta - Pretty 2 year old fawn female, loved her balanced angles and clean profile outline. Good head proportions, strong muzzle, arched neck of good length, lovely shoulders and return of upper arm. Good length and depth of body, filled chest, nicely constructed rear. Lovely bone and feet, low hocks. She moved accurately and true.

3rd 330 Finch, Mrs Fiona Zenobia Love Actually JW – completing a lovely trio.

Class 120 Whippet Open (5,1) A very nice class.

1st 336 Hunter, Mr A, Mrs D, Miss G, Colooney Was Meant to Be at Sulahmara JW – Striking 3 year old brindle/white male in his prime, he oozes quality and balance and is not overdone. He scores in substance with lovely bone and feet, while remaining athletic and built for speed. Classic head of good proportions, kind dark oval eye, lovely ears and powerful jaws. Long, clean arched neck into well laid shoulders, good return of upper arm and filled forechest. Lovely body shape, depth and spring of rib. Good length to height proportions, standing over plenty of ground naturally. Well developed rear of good width and angles. Low, strong hocks. He excels on the move with an easy, free stride holding his shape and on a loose lead. Delighted to award him Best of Breed, and hear that he later took Hound Group 1 under a breed specialist – congratulations!

2nd 337 Parkinson, Mrs Carol, Groomsville Hologem Heaven’s Dream – Lovely 3 year old brindle, loved her balanced angles, shapely outline and accurate movement. Pretty head of good proportions, dark eye and strong muzzle, rose ears. Long, clean neck into a well constructed front assembly, well filled forechest, good bone and feet, excellent shape of ribcage with good topline and tuck up. Well angled rear to balance her front, powerful low hocks. She moves with a ground covering stride.

3rd 334 Finch, Mrs Fiona Starceylon Queen of Dorne and Zenobia JW – lovely girl completing a beautiful line up.
