Scottish Utility Breeds Club

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me and the exhibitors for bringing what was overall a very high quality entry.

Akita

PG (1/0):

1. Davies’ Sensha Big Dreams at Shinzam – a very playful girl coming up to 2 y/o, good body shape, correct front angulation, correct muzzle shape & size, good bite, good pigmentation, lovely earset & carriage, good neckline. She needs to firm up a lite in rear, in good coat.

O (1/0):

1. Davies’ Ch Redwitch This Is Me at Shinzam (AI) – a lovely red sable 4 y/o male, good length of body, correct skull shape & size, good muzzle and correct eye placement, eye of the darkest of colour. He has a good front and good substance overall. Correct tailset & carriage and such a good mover. BOB & good to see placed 3rd BIS later on

Bulldog

P(1/0):

1. Lamb’s Ms Eire Junior at Kayldemb (IKC) – 6m/o bitch with a good body shape, correct topline, good width in front, good underjaw, good shape of skull, correct pigmentation, good eye, would prefer a little more upper lip. Good substance overall. BP.

PG (3/1):

1. Bertram’s Ruciona Bullseye – white boy of good size, correct front, correct topline with slight rising over the loin, correct tailset. Clean well set eye, good earset, correct underjaw, and good lips, would prefer slightly larger nostrils. Moves well. BOB

2. Gilmour’s Sandar’s Mr Rubble – masculine dog with good body shape, correct topline, correct substance, good eye, correct underjaw, would prefer slightly tighter toplip and eyes could be a little smaller. Moved OK.

OB (2/1):

1. Gilmour’s Wotabull Desert Rose – 4y/o Red & white, good construction, correct front with wide chest. Good eye, good nose pad, good bite, correct lips, good ears. Typical topline, would prefer her to be slightly more compact in body, good tailset.

Japanese Shiba Inu

PG (4/2):

1. Best-Rawlings’ Tapena No Ryuu Tomodachi at Trixwood – 2y/o red male with a lovely head and expression, good ear placement & carriage, lovely dark almond eye, good pigment, correct skull, good bite, could have slightly more lay of shoulders but has good bone & front, good body & tailset, in lovely harsh coat.

2. Best-Rawlings’ Trixwood Golden Bijou – 4y/o bitch with good dark eyes of correct shape, she could have a little more substance & stronger rear, but good front & feet, correct topline.

O (2/1):

1. Best-Rawlings’ Trixwood it’s A Kind of Magic to Zaandam – 7y/o red Bitch in lovely condition, great body proportions, good bite with full dentition, lovely head, dark almond eyes, good pigment, correct front construction. Could be slightly wider in rear but good angulation and moves seamlessly. BOB

Keeshond

O (3/0):

1. Gate’s Ch Winklestar Alsephina via Lacetrom JW – Lovely outline on this girl who has a good neck, correct lay of shoulders, good level topline, good ribcage, correct straight front & good feet. Good length & shape of muzzle. Lovely eye, correct earset. Good coat texture and moves well. BOB

2. Gate’s Winklestar Alnair via Lacetrom – 2 y/o smaller male, good body proportions, not quite the return of upper arm of his kennel mate, good tailset. Nice head with a good eye and earset & size. A little unsettled today.

Miniature Schnauzer

O (2/1):

1. McLeod’s Ventoso Springtime Sweeti of Stilglen – Salt & pepper girl with a lovely head. Dark eye, good muzzle, prominent dark nose, good bite with full dentition. Good body shape, slightly off-square, good depth of body, good rear angulation, would prefer slightly better return of upper arm and looser tail carriage. Lovely overall type & good coat texture. BOB

Lhasa Apso:

PG (5/4):

1. Hinshelwood’s Muirfauld Mirror Image JW – Slate dog of good size, lovely skull size, good length of muzzle, correct oval dark eye, slightly undershot, good expression. Good lay of shoulders, correct topline kept on the move, would prefer slightly shorter loin, good tailset. A little overawed today.

PG (2/1):

1. Schuckardt & Schuckardt’s Elmichapel Walk In My Shoes at Frenchlands JW – Golden bitch of lovely size, good front angulation, good skull shape & muzzle proportions, lovely dark pigment, slightly undershot. Good body with enough length of ribcage, good tailset.

OD (2/1):

1. Schuckardt & Schuckardt’s Timazinti’s Peppermint at Frenchlands ShCM ShCEx JW VW – 9 & a half y/o Gold & white dog who does not seem to have aged, lovely shape, good substance, great neckline, good lay of shoulders, level topline, good tailset and moves well. Lovely skull & muzzle, very attractive dark & oval eye, great pigment. It boggles the mind he has not gained his title, top quality dog that I was delighted to see win BIS later on. BOB

OB (3/2):

1. Schuckardt & Schuckardt’s CH Kutani Black Opal at Frenchlands JW – a 3 y/o black gem as her name suggests, lovely size, good topline, good tight elbows, correct rear angulation, good tailset. She has an attractive head with good eye, correct skull shape & size, good reverse scissor bite, correct pigment. She moves well and pushed her kennelmate hard for BOB.

Shar Pei:

O (1/0):

1. Todd’s Ch Witchgait Toasted Cheese JW ShCEx Osw – 2y/o male with a very attractive head, lovely eye, good muzzle, the smallest of ears, correct mouth & pigment. He has a lovely temperament, good length of body, topline is typical enough, good tailset, well let down hocks, good coat of harsh texture. BOB
