Northern Counties Yorkshire Terrier Club Open Show
24th November 2024
Judge: MIss Leila Tarabad (Khatibi)
Many thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge at this friendly club show. I was delighted with an entry of 34, it was a shame the great British weather had other ideas for the weekend and sent snow, wind, rain, floods and everything in between! Thank you to those who managed to battle the elements to make it to the show.
Junior Dog ( 4,2)
1.Sharp-Dixon & Reyes’ Queenslake Ring of Gold. A lovely start to the entry with this quality youngster. Neat and compact with super topline, decent shoulders, good ribbing and loin and in optimum condition. Lovely head and expression with neat ears, dark eyes and alert expression. Moved freely, very good out and back and holding a smart outline in profile. In beautifully presented coat, just didn’t go as well in the challenge with a change of handler but was an easy choice for RBD.
2.Lee’s Litalees Red Rocket. 15month old that still needs a bit of time to mature being rather narrow all through. Nice head and expression with neat ears, well balanced length of muzzle and dense pigment. Good reach of neck, could have better angulation in front, level topline and sound rear. Moved soundly, good moving away, straight but a little narrow in front. Well presented glossy coat, just needs to carry a little more weight.
Yearling Dog (2,1)
1.Pearce’s Mirifico Rumour Has It. 19 months old, compact with good reach of neck and moderate turn of stifle. Smallish head with dark eyes and well balanced length of muzzle. Moved ok, tended to roach in topline slightly, parallel behind, could cover the ground a little better.
Limit Dog (1)
1.Pipes’ Brevorda Morning Serenade. 4yr old, small and compact with good substance, adequate reach of neck, shoulders ok and moderate rear angulation. Small head with neat ears, dense pigment and dark eyes. Moved soundly but could have more drive.
Open Dog (1)
1.Sharp-Dixon & Reyes’ Ch. Queenslake Lord of the Rings. Easily the star of the day this 3yr old fully mature dog was handled and presented to perfection without a hair out of place. Lovely balance to his outline with super neck, firm level topline, good ribbing and loin, sound front and rear assembly and correct bone and substance for size. Super head and expression, neat ears, lovely dark eyes, dense pigment, correct length of muzzle and good mouth. Moved with purpose, carrying himself proudly with perfect topline, well set and carried tail, accurate out and back with good drive. In pristine long, straight, glossy coat and obviously has a super temperament. BD, BIS.
Minor Puppy Bitch (2,1)
1.Frostick’s Jankeri Rose with Marlukney. 6month old who was every bit the baby but had great confidence on the move holding her topline firm and covering the ground with ease, just needs to settle in front. Neat little shape with good spring of rib for age and nice substance, sound front and rear assembly and well set and carried tail. Sweet, feminine head with dark eyes, good length of muzzle and intelligent expression.
Puppy Bitch (4,1)
1.Weigand-Brown Andelalie Walk With Me. Close between these two with things to appreciate in both, this 10month old wasn’t always stood to an advantage but had the better head, good mouth, dark expressive eyes and neat ears. Good reach of neck, compact body with moderate rear angulation and super tail carriage. Moved freely with good front and decent drive. In quality coat. BPIS.
2.Dixon-Hardwick's Miss Queen Bee at Aacharmoe. Not quite as compact as 1 but had the smarter profile movement, carrying herself well with firm topline and good drive. Smallish head, just a touch longer in muzzle, nice eyes and dense pigment.
3.Stoner’s Jankeri Evelyn for Kericrest
Junior Bitch (5,2)
1.Stading’s Joangelz Delilah. Small, feminine bitch with such lovely substance for her size. Only just out of puppy but already an accomplished showgirl, really making the most of herself, handled and presented to an advantage in straight, glossy coat. Balanced in outline with ample reach of neck, level topline, decent shoulders and correctly angulated rear. Such a sweet face and appealing expression, beautiful dark eyes, balanced length of muzzle, small ears and good mouth. Moved with such an easy, purposeful action with good carriage, very attentive to her handler. She didn’t put a paw wrong to take BB & RBIS.
2.Sharp-Dixon's Queenslake Diamond Ring. 15month old litter sister to the RBD and as all from this kennel she was in pristine condition both in body, muscle and coat. Small, correctly shaped head with good muzzle and dark eyes. Lovely reach of neck, firm topline, good ribbing and loin just a little too much rear angulation. Sound, free mover but not quite as confident as 1.
Yearling Bitch (4,1)
1.Dixon-Hardwick's Marlukney’s Lady on Red at Aacharmoe. Best for shape and size here with enough neck, decent shoulders, good loin and moderate turn of stifle. Feminine head with lovely eyes. Moved well enough, topline tends to rise towards the rear. Could have more confidence.
2.Kay’s Trayshellin’s Tabitha. Not very happy in the ring and didn’t use tail but a nice size with straight silky coat and compact frame. Nice eyes, ears could be neater.
3.Ringland & Coughlin’s Joangelz Great Beyond
Novice Bitch (2)
1.Emmerson’s Marlukney’s Miss Turpin. 16 month old with a super attitude presented well by her young handler. Easily one of the best moving on the day holding herself well in profile with head high and topline firm. Compact with good spring of rib, loin and substance, balanced length of leg and ample reach of neck. Pleasing head with dense pigment, dark sparkling eyes, could have smaller ears. Outmoved her competition to take RBB.
2.Emmerson’s Follow Dreams of Love. Very sweet 10month old puppy with a mind of her own! Neat little shape, just needs to firm in topline. Pretty face, ultra feminine with dark eyes and correct length of muzzle. A little reluctant to cooperate on the move which was a shame.
Post Grad Bitch (2)
1.Campbell’s Stemarie Solitaire Star. 3yr old with superb attitude. Correctly shaped head with neat ears, well balanced length of muzzle, lovely eyes and alert expression. Good reach of neck, correct length of leg for balance and good spring of rib. Moved happily but wasn’t so good in the rear. Quality coat and good colours.
2.Kay’s Trayshellin’s Thistle at Auchenrowan. 2yr old who was a little reluctant on the move and not using her tail. Nice size and substance, feminine head with dark eyes, ear set could be better.
Limit Bitch (2)
1.Ikaneviciene’s Kajuson Charmin’ Darling. Not as confident as 2 but had the better head and coat here. Compact and balanced in profile with good loin, firm topline and well set and carried tail. Pleasant head with neat, correctly set ears, nice eyes but could have a fraction shorter muzzle. Moved with a very nice action covering the ground with ease whilst maintaining her outline. Well presented, straight silky coat of good colours.
2.Campbell’s Chevawn Royal Acclaim for Stemarie. A slightly longer 3yr old with adequate reach of neck, good spring of rib and loin, moderate rear angulation and level topline. Sweet, feminine head with dark eyes and alert expression. Sound on the move, wasn’t as good behind as 1.
