Whippet

My first time at this show at what a super venue at Hickstead and superbly run show. The sun was shining from early morning and it was no surprise that the dogs were feeling the heat...I was too! Thank you to the exhibitors for a lovely entry and The Whippet Club for supporting.

Puppy (5,3)

1.Cahill & Timberlake’s Ardencote Dance A Dream at Chipperlake. Lovely start to the entry with this beautiful 6 month old baby. So elegant and feminine, raw but with everything in the right place to finish nicely. Good reach of neck, straight front, nice topline and well angulated rear. Pretty head with nice bright eyes, flat skull, well tapered muzzle and strong jaw. Moved with a good length of stride holding a lovely outline in profile. BP, RBPIS.

2.Smith’s Collooney Fred Astaire. 6 month dog as masculine as 1 is feminine yet still maintaining the elegance of outline required. Super depth of chest and ribbing for age, good topline and underline, well angulated rear and correctly set and carried tail. Strong head with alert expression. Moved freely holding a nice outline.

3.Gorman’s Dejare On A Promise.

Junior (3,1)

1. Walker’s Runaround Rosetta of Shoalingham. Presents a lovely outline stood with good reach of neck flowing into a nice topline, well angulated rear, curvy underline, good bone and feet. Lovely head and expression with neat ears and nice bright eyes. Sound on the move but could cover more ground in profile, better out and back than 2.

2. Rochford’s Velandor Mr Jingles. Rather excitable, well muscled puppy who had the better length of stride here but in his excitement he was rather careless with his tail! Curvy outline with good front assembly, deep chest with nice fill in front, good tuck up and correct rear angulation. In lovely condition. I understand the exhibitor was new and just needs a little practice to learn how to get the best out of her puppy.

Grad Dog (6,1)

1.Allansson & Macdonald’s Zoraden Simply the Zest of Macalldon JW. Just a year old and still has plenty of maturing to do but was the best for type and profile movement here. Smooth and elegant, a little flat in topline, good angulation fore and aft, good depth of chest and underline and nice rear assembly. Handsome head of good length with alert expression. Moved well, covering the ground easily.

2.Gorman’s Dejare Seeing Stars. Nice size and pleasing shape which he holds on the move. Smooth and well muscled with strong rear. Good out and back but couldn’t match the profile action of 1.

3.Cahill & Timberlake’s Shine On Harvey Moon at Chipperlake.

Limit Dog (4)

1.Bunney’s Bunehug Let It Be Me. 3yr old with graceful, nicely balanced outline, flowing lines from head to tail and handled to an advantage. Long arched neck into sound front assembly, nice topline and underline, deep chest and good tuck up, strong loin and correctly angulated rear. Long, lean head with neat ears and strong jaw. Moved with an easy action and decent length of stride, ok going away and good coming towards.

2.Webber’s Lolani Ride A Wild Trail JW. Nice size and in well muscled condition. Strong neck, good shoulders, well angulated rear and nice topline that he maintains on the move. Wasn’t as good out and back as 1 and not quite as graceful in outline.

3.Steel & Baulch’s Tigsisle Time After Time with Moyles.

Open Dog (4,1)

1.Soffe’s Zoraden Macchiato JW. One I’ve judged before and liked and he still appeals greatly. Lovely size and stands over plenty of ground with curvy underline and nice topline. Good front and rear assembly, deep chest with enough fill in front, good spring of rib and strong loin. Beautiful head and expression with lovely eyes and neat ears. Nothing exaggerated, with enough muscle, gleaming coat and elegant, balanced outline. Moved accurately and freely using his rear well just not quite covering the ground as well as the bitch who took BOB but it was close. RBOB

2.Bunney’s Bunehug Believe It Or Not. Masculine head with nice eyes. Pleasing outline with deep chest, firm topline and correctly angulated rear. Moved with a nice profile action, a little untidy coming towards.

3.Sharpe’s Tigsisle Make Some Noise.

Grad Bitch (4)

1.Walker’s Runaround Rosetta of S. winner of Junior and by far the best moving out and back in this class.

2.Osborne’s Derohan Doubly Clever. A little less of her all through but still balanced and elegant. Long arched neck, straight front, good depth of chest and fill in front, well angulated rear with hocks well let down. Feminine head of good length with neat ears and well tapered muzzle. Sound on the move but couldn’t match the more accurate action of 1.

3.Sharpe’s Tigsisle Sun and Ice.

Limit Bitch (5,1)

1.Bunney’s Bunehug So Be It. Feminine with good curves, lovely front assembly, firm topline, strong loin and well angulated rear. Appealing head and expression with neat ears, well tapered muzzle and strong jaw. Moved well with a decent length of stride, fairly accurate out and back.

2.Soffe’s Penbriar Rocket Star. Nicely constructed and unexaggerated, a touch shorter in back than 1, curvy underline and good topline, deep chest, could have a little more fill in front. Long, lean head with alert expression. Moved with a lovely easy action, free in profile covering the ground well. In super condition.

3.Baulch’s Erinnis Mignonette.

Open Bitch (6,1)

1.Longhurst’s Abbeyhurst Dancing Queen JW. I thought this bitch was an easy winner here, handled to perfection to really show off her virtues. So graceful with elegant lines flowing smoothly from head to toe. Long arched neck, lovely front assembly, correct topline, strong loin, curvy underline, correctly angulated and well muscled rear with good bone and feet. Beautiful head and expression, long and lean with nicely finished muzzle, expressive eyes and fine, neat ears. Her movement in profile was super covering the ground with long, easy strides, holding her outline firm, she looked like she could go all day! Presented in optimum condition with coat gleaming in the sun. The OD came close in the challenge but her profile movement gave her the edge. BOB. I was delighted to hear that she later took RBIS, congratulations.

2.Williams’ Tigsisle It’s About Time. A little smaller than 1 again in lovely condition, smooth to go over with strong neck, straight front, nice topline, good depth of chest and tuck up. Could have a little more fill in front. Appealing head and expression with nice eyes. Moved freely and accurately which won her this place.

3.Osborne’s Loroli Life’s A Rollacoasta at Derohan.
