Beauceron Club UK

Beauceron Club UK

14th July 2024

It was indeed a pleasure to judge the Beauceron Club UK show and we were blessed with good weather. The entry was super, for which I thank you and the atmosphere excellent. I would like to thank the Club for the very kind invitation and my steward, Karen, for her hard work, not only in the smooth running of the ring but also for the wonderful specials offered to the winners.

Dog

Yearling

1: Barnes’ UK TALLOWAH ONLY ONE OMMAGE DES MOSS DU LAC (IMP) up to size and all male b/t his head is balanced, and he has correct planes. Strong neck into well laid shoulder. Decent return of super arm, depth to chest and strong topline. Correct croup and tail set. Low dewclaws. Moved out ok just a tad narrow coming towards me perhaps.

Limit

1: Harrell & Blanchflower’s TITAN DES RAMPARTS CASTELS WITH BEAUKITA (IMP), very decent b/t male who presents a very pleasing outline stacked. He is beautifully handled to get the best out of him even though he was determined to give his handler as mush of a hard time as he could. His head is balanced, and he has an inquisitive expression. Super planes and the correct ear carriage. Strong neck into very well-placed forehand. Strong topline, deep chested and well sprung ribs. Correct angle to croup and he is balanced behind. Carries his tail correctly on the move. Looks good in profile and keeps his outline. BD but his mind was elsewhere for the BIS challenge and so had to bow to the wonderful bitch who was in fine form and so had to settle for RBIS and BOSIS.

2: White’s OVERHILLS DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR BEAUCEANTO, mature b/t of good size. He pleases in head and expression. Correct bone and feet. He could possibly benefit from a few pounds off as it just spoilt his outline and affected his movement slightly today.

Open

1: Springham’s TALLOWAH BRAM STOKER, b/t boy who scores highly for type, his head plane are correct and he has a pleasing expression. Decent neck into balanced forehand. Well off for bone and is well ribbed back. Correct line to croup and well-set tail. It is on the move that he scores as he has a very easy stride and looks as if he could go economically all day. Just a little tense on inspection which cost him further.

Veteran

1: White’s OVERHILLS THE MIDAS TOUCH FOR BEAUCEANTO, 9-year-old b/t who won the class on profile action as he used his front to maximum effect. He pleases in head and expression and is totally balanced in outline. Balanced in angulation, he keeps a strong topline and has the correct line to croup and well-set tail. In super condition for his age and he was handled very well. RBD and BVIS

2: Janssens-Bowell’s O’DRISCOLL DU REGARD MORDANT, another decent 9-year-old for type. He too pleases for head planes and is strong throughout. Clean on the out and back he just didn’t have the reach of the winner today and this is what tipped the balance.

3; Ziska’s NATAN DU REGARDS MORDANT (IMP), 10-year-old who was thoroughly enjoying his day, he was just a tad full of himself on the move

Bitches

Puppy

1: Preddy’s OVERHILL’S FRENCH FANCY, quite delightful 6-month harlequin bitch of obvious quality. Her head and expression are a delight, she is so good to go over and moves out on the right track. Yes, she needs to firm up in foot, but she is a star in the making. Presented to perfection, her future is assured. BPIS

2: Phelp’s WY MALARKEY CHEZ PEBBLEENA DES FEUX AGENTES (IMP), 8-month harlequin who also pleased very much for type and had a beautiful expression. Totally balanced in outline and sound in profile, just a tad erratic coming towards me, but she will get her head around what she needs to do. Another with a real future

3: Janssens-Bowell’s TALLOWAH SHAMROCK

Yearling

1: Janssens-Bowell’s VOILA VETAGORA DU REGARD MORDANT, although keen to get to her owner, she put in enough to show me how very sound she is. On the stack she is a delight, being the correct shape and totally balanced in outline. So very well made and has the most delightful expression. I really liked her.

2: Fox’s VIN ROUGE FOR SLYONE DU REGARD MORDANT (IMP), similar in type but just needs to develop in chest and fill out, but this will come. She is sound on the move and uses herself very well and she too has a very decent head. Just going through that teenage stage at the moment.

Post Graduate

1: Barnes’ UISCE BEATHA TALLOWAH DU REGARD MORDANT (IMP), super bitch for type and she is totally balanced in outline, she won the class with her precision in profile and also line of croup and tail set. Superb for forehand and if she thought more about her job in hand, she will go places.

2: Dandridge’s BEAUKITA HYDE PARK, very well handled and presented, she is just a tad square in outline. Has depth of chest and a pleasing head and expression. Would prefer a better croup and tail set and she was a tad lazy on the move, shame.

Limi

1: Harrell & Blanchflower’s BEAUKITA’S MCCRORY PARK, b/t who is pleasing for outline but just felt that she is a tad heavy at the moment, won the class on her profile action. Has depth to chest and everything where it should be. Handled very well. Back in form, she will be a real contender.

2: Phelps’ PEBBLEENA PICCALO, I liked this bitch for type very much and she pleased for her head properties, when she gets going, she puts her feet in the right place, but she was determined to pace today, and this cost her. I hope she gets her head around the job in hand.

Open

1; Preddy’s OVERHILL’S DOUBLE IMPACT, harlequin bitch masterfully presented and handled. Today was her day as she put on a very polished performance. Her expression is a delight, she is very well made and was in superb muscle condition. Her outline is wonderful, but it is on the move that she cannot be ignored. She puts her feet in the right place and carries herself correctly. A real star and I see that she is the dam of the BPIS winner, so clearly has more than one talent. BB & BIS

2: Fox’s QUINTINE DU REGARD MORDANT AVEC SLYONE (IMP), b/t bitch of real type, she pleased for shape and outline, and she is correct in head for expression and planes. Moved ok but could have been feeling the heat. In the challenge she went better, and it was her total honesty that won her RBB.

Veteran

1: Barnes’ MISS SCARLET DU REGARD MORDANT TO TALLOWAH (IMP), 11-year-old b/t of type and a real credit, sound and puts her feet in the right place. Pleases for head and expression.

2: Thrower’s PEBBLEENA’S MAY LEBATTS, 10-year-old harlequin, super temperament and she pleases for expression, a little portly but she can be forgiven. Saying that she really used herself on the move.

3: Janssens-Bowell’s JEMMA DU REGARD MORDANT.
