Schipperke Club

31st March 2024

A most enjoyable morning judging this delightful breed and I thank the Schipperke club for the invitation. Not a bad entry for this day and age and the sportsmanship is to be commended. Thank you.

Dogs

Puppy

1: Hood’s DJANGO ALPHA NERO WITH ARATHORN (IMP CZE), 9 months black with a typical outline. He pleases very much in head with dark oval eye giving an almost naughty expression. Uses his ears at all times and is on his tiptoes. Coat coming in nicely with correct texture. Square in outline, he has a good topline and well-set tail and even has culottes. Well ribbed and on the move, he has the correct action. BPIS

Junior

1: Thorne’s SCHIPDALE BARNABY, 14 months black on the tiptoe of expectation and stamping his feet, which was delightful. Up to size and all male, he pleases in expression with the correct shaped eye. Good neck and layback of shoulder, would possibly prefer slightly more return of upper arm. He is well ribbed back, but just needs to drop into his frame. In super condition, he has a a coat of good texture with ruff and cape coming along. Enough angulation behind. On the move he has a brisk action and holds his outline. Upped his game in the challenge and was rewarded. BD, BOSIS

Limit

1: Hall’s CHADBOWER DREW OF GHILGRANGE, very typical in outline and square. He is good for size and has a super topline. Substance in front, he is decent for front angulation. Depth to chest and well ribbed back. Coat of super texture and has the desired ruff and cape. Balanced behind. He moves on the right track and has a typical brisk action.

2: Finch’s RISTINE STARRY NIGHT, higher stationed and he is a little long cast. However, he is balanced in angulation and is well made in front. His head and expression are typical, and he had a coat of correct texture. Correct flat bone and moved on the right track.

3: Donaldson’s MOZAL TOV BEST SELLAR (NBT) (IMP Ris), he pleases for size. Delightful expression and a super coat. Would just prefer a little more angualtion in front and he was just a tad erractic on the out and back, I’m sure he’ll have better days.

Open

1: Cheatham’s CH SCHIPDALE A KIND OF MAGIC SHCEX. Like this dog very much, decent dog for type, size and shape. He is super sound and is excellent to go over on the table. He has substance in front, correct bone, depth of chest and well ribbed back. Strong topline into well set tail and a rounded rump. True culottes as well. On the move he is precise, keeps an outline and holds himself well. In the challenge, he overstretched himself slightly giving him a slightly sloping topline and this tipped the balance in favour of the junior dog. RBD

2: Forknall’s AVIDORE PUTIN ON THE STYLE, another very typical boy who present the correct outline. Super head and expression, good in front and had depth. Tends to slightly slope in topline but this does not detract from the quality of him. Stands over himself. Moved out on the right track and is brisk in action.

3: Wilson’s SCHIPDALE NIGHTFALL AT LYNCATHMOR, similar in outline and stands over himself. He too pleases in head shape and has a decent expression. Coat of the correct texture and he is well muscled. Moved with a brisk action, just a tad erractic coming towards me, but a very decent chap.

AOC Open

1: Massey’s RISTINE MAGICAL SPICE, cream of correct shape and size, pleased very much in head and he has a balanced outline, on the move he could just use himself a little more to advantage. BAOCD

Veteran (Under 10)

1: Brooks’ FANDAL’S VILJAM AT RIGEBROOK (NBT) (IMP FIN), 9-year-old in fine fettle, pleasing outline, decent front and strong topline. Coat of good texture. Moved out well and holds his outline. BVD

2: Massey’s RISTINE TWEEDLEDEE pleases in head and expression, he has substance in front, perhaps just slightly longer cast. Moved well in profile and in super condition.

Vintage (Over 10)

1: Cheatham’s CH ARADET ACTION MAN SHCM VW. 10-year-old in superb condition and belying his years. Good for size and shape, he pleases in expression but perhaps could have a slightly flatter skull. Good topline and well let down behind. He moved with a real spring in his step and put his feet in the right place.

Bitches

Junior

1: hall’s GHILGRANGE HANKY PANKY, 13 month and coming along the right lines. Feminine in outlook, decent for size and has width in front. Moved out on the right track and kept her outline, just needs a little confidence on the table, but this will come.

Post Grad

1: Forknal & Holland’s ZORBALOO HAPPY HOUR AGAIN AT AVIDORE, really lovely young bitch just out of junior and not in full coat atm. However, she is so typical in so many departments being alert, on her toes and active. She has the most super head and expression, decent front and has width. Correct outline and superb topline. On the move she has a brisk action and keeps her outline beautifully. Champion quality with the average amount of luck. I really liked her RBB & RBIS

2: Daskalova’s, DENCAS UNDER MY SKIN, in full coat and very attentive to her handler. She is square in outline and in super condition. Moved out well and smartly.

Limit

1: Hall’s ROOPEC’S GONNA GET YA WITH GHILLGRANGE (NBT), good for size and has femininity, decent front and has substance, she tends to rise a little in topline but has a well-rounded rump. Moved smartly and is precise on the out and back. Pleases in expression and she uses her ears all the time.

Open

1: Brooks & Davis’ RISTINE GOLD PANDORA AT RIDGEBROOK, 9-year-old cream who is good for size and type. Strong level topline and pleases in expression.

AOC Open

1: Philpott’s CH KOMARGO GOING FOR GOLD, what a delight, so very typical and as sound as they come. Perfect for size, and the most beautiful head and expression. For me she screamed breed type with the most wonderful of outlines. The ultimate show girl just adds to her appeal and on this form is hard to look past. BB, BIS, BAOCIS

2: Donaldson’s CH ZORBALOO CONCRETE BLONDE, 10-year-old in super condition and she too is super for size and has a feminine outlook. Lovely expression and correct coat texture, moved out well.

Vintage (Over 10)

1: Forknall’s SCHOJAN REVE D’OR AT AVIDORE, 10 ½ year old cream who doesn’t think she a veteran. Delightful expression, she is typical in outline and has a firm straight topline, width and depth to chest and has the correct coat pattern. Moved out on the right track and kept her outline. BVB BVIS
