The Miniature Bull Terrier Open Show
24th November 2024
Judge Mrs Marshallsay (Fergustaff)
I would like to thank the officers, committee for holding a super friendly Christmas themed show where Father Christmas made a special visit to the Junior handlers on the day. It was a joy to see the future is looking bright for dog showing with the amount of young people taking part.
Also, a huge thank you to the exhibitors for allowing me the pleasure to assess their dogs but also for making to the show despite Storm Bert causing all sorts of issues.
Overall, I was very pleased with the dogs which I judged however I do believe there are a couple of areas of concern which as guardians of the breed we need to be mindful of. There were dogs which lacked overall breed type. Size is also a concern; we are a miniature bull terrier not a midi bull terrier short forearms were also present causing front movement to be incorrect.
Overall Handling has improved, it is imperative that handlers do their best to show their dogs in their best light. I had no issues with unclean dogs or dirty teeth.

1st Wengormick No Regrets Solid compact dog, lovely strength in bone nice head but would prefer more fill, correct mouth. Good ear set and the darkest and well-shaped eyes. Good width and depth of chest, short in neck which is rather stuffy. Compact body, with a good topline, good bend of stifle and length in hock. Moved well hold a good tail set. Would have preferred him with a little less weight.
2nd Diego Rozullnik does not have the profile of the first or the ear set. Super small dark eye and correct mouth. Okay width in chest, sightly short in forearm lovely neat feet. Short compact body, would have prefer more rear angulations which affected the movement.

Limit 4/1
What a super class of three ladies, each of which hold so many of the attributes required in our breed standard.
1st Thompson’s Oakfayre’s Whiplash Weasel JW, super enthusiastic young lady who has real ring presence. Her handler works hard to get the best of her. Solid compact and brimming with breed type. Super head with correct profile and fill, beautiful dark well placed small eyes which gives a wicked expression which appears to reflex her personality. Well set ears, correct mouth and strong underjaw, good length in neck and width and depth in chest with neat feet. Correct length in back, would have prefer a slightly better topline however has a good rise over the loin. To be picky would have liked her to be carrying slightly less weight, however she moved around the ring like she owned the place with very typical movement which was a joy to see.
Best Bitch & Best In Show
2nd Martin’s Topasbully Yaroslava, more terrier type than than 1, very feminine with a lovely head good profile with a lovely small dark well-placed eye. Well set ears, mouth incorrect but a strong underjaw. Super length in neck, would have prefer a slightly more developed front but has neat feet. Good in body but in contrast would have like her carrying a little more weight and muscle tone. Moved very well.
