Spire Toy Dog Society

Breed: Open Show

Spire Toy Dog Society – Sunday 3rd November 2024

Pomeranian – Judge: Lauren Brown (Altina)

Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to Lynn Webster (Show Secretary) for inviting me to judge at such a lovely open show. The show ran smoothly and is in a great venue – wishing nothing but the best for the future of the show as Lynn will be retiring as secretary, a great loss to the society but I’m sure they will be fine.

Another huge thank you to my class secretary Grace Rutherford, who kept me in line and made me super efficient, especially working alone. Thank you to all the exhibitors who entered under me. It was lovely to see you all and a pleasure going over your dogs.

Class 82 – Puppy Dog or Bitch (3 entrees, 1 absentee)

1st – Miss E Campbell, Vip Pom Stars Storming Norman at Diemzs (Imp Serb)

A lovely 11 month old, orange boy. Rich colour and slowly coming back into coat. Nice head just wish ears were smaller, however, once adult coat is in it shouldn’t be as noticeable. Lovely temperament and perfect mouth. When settled he moves nicely, unfortunately does have a tendency to crab when overexcited. Fingers crossed he gets out of his naughty habit. Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd – Mrs M Reeson, Angelpom Bianca Dream for Mylriver

It was really difficult to choose between these two puppies. This 8 month old is a great example of a dual purpose bitch. Good amount of coat for her age. Walked nicely but unfortunately did not have the ring space to show off her talent. The owner said a previous judge spooked her on the table so hopefully she will overcome this fear. I just preferred colour and presentation of first but they could easily swap places in the future.

Class 83 – Junior Dog or Bitch (1 entered, 0 absentees)

1st – Miss E Campbell, Intime New Beginnings at Diemzs (Imp) Naf

A very pretty orange bitch. Just turned 12 months and has so much potential. A lovely head with ears covered by a decent amount of coat, just waiting to fully change to adult coat. Moved perfectly and was very attentive to her owner. I look forward to keeping up with her show career as I’m sure she will be very successful. Pleased to find out she recently got her first CC at such a young age.

Class 84 – Special Yearling Dog or Bitch (1 entered, 0 absentees)

1st – Ms S Smith, Lireva’s Just On A Flutter at Sueacres

A deep, rich orange sable bitch. 15 months old with a nice head and great teeth. Nicely short and compact, stood four square. Moved nicely round the ring, just needs more coat.

Class 85 – Limit Dog or Bitch (1 entered, 1 absentee)

Class 86 – Open Dog (1 entered, 0 absentees)

1st – Ms S Smith, Sueacres Centre Stage

A true showman, a lovely dark orange sable boy. Moved like he owned the ring in true pom fashion and was very attentive to his owner. Huge plume, and nice earset covered by his rich coat. Stood four square and presented nicely. I watched this young man as a puppy so it was lovely to see him blossom and go over him. Best of Breed. Also pleased to see he also won BIS 4!
