Northern Dog Club

Whippets

My thanks to the officers and committee of the Northern Dog Club for inviting me to judge whippets at their very well-run open show. As always, thank you to my 2 stewards Bruce and Fiona who were very efficient and above all thank you to all exhibitors for bringing their dogs for my evaluation. All mouths were correct, so I have not included bites in the body of the critique.

Puppy, (3)

1st) Cooper, L, Crosscop Im Alwayz Yours at Ballauren- 6 months old fawn and white puppy bitch, a raw puppy but looking promising, Her handler handled her extremely well and sympathetically as she wasn’t as compliant as she could have been on the stack showing her puppy exuberance- she would benefit from more ringcraft. Feminine head, rose shaped ears, long neck elegantly arched into a well-constructed front assembly, pasterns slightly sprung. Graceful rise over her loin and well angulated hindquarters. Moved soundly from all angles for one so young.BPIB PHG2

2nd). Cannon, T, Pursenet Our Special Girl, 7 month fawn bitch, feminine head, correct ears, front assembly developed enough for age, pasterns slightly sprung, ribbing carried back, strong back and well developed hindquarters. Just needs to settle into her front movement.
