My thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge whippets at their very well-run open show with a real festival feeling to it. As always, thank you to my steward who was very efficient and above all thank you to all exhibitors for bringing their dogs for my evaluation.

Puppy,

1st) Allanson & Macdonald Miss C & Mr R, Zoraden Simply The Zest Of Macalldon, Fawn dog of good type, good head, oval eye and rose shaped ears and correct scissor bite, clean through the neck, well developed front. Pasterns strong with slight spring, gentle rise over the loin and good turn of stifle, hocks well let down. Moved well from all directions pleased to award him BPIB and see him take Group 3.

2nd) Reed & Pace, Miss D & Mrs M G, Dejare Dreaming On and On, Another lovely puppy, a quality feminine fawn bitch, feminine head, good ear and correct bite, front construction developed well and good depth to brisket, strong through the loin, well angulated quarters with hocks well let down, moved well but wasn’t as precise as the 1st on the up and back.

Junior

1st) Earnshaw, Mr M & Mrs N, Palmik I Know What I Like At Moon Shadow, Upstanding brindle dog who appealed greatly for his overall balance, typical head, oval eye, correct rose shaped ears and correct scissor bite, well placed front assembly with shoulders well laid and legs falling beneath him, strong pastern with slight spring, bladed bone .Good depth of brisket with good fill to fore chest and ribbing carried well back. well-muscled back, gentle rise to loin. Well angulated behind hocks well let down. Moved well, shown in lovely condition. Delighted to award him BOB and see him take Group 1

Postgraduate

1st) Earnshaw, Mr M & Mrs N, Palmik I Know What I Like At Moon Shadow, 1st In Junior

2nd) Scoffe, Miss C, Penbriar Rocket Sar, Brindle Bitch of lovely type and quality, feminine head, correct ears, neck elegantly arched into a well made forehand. Good depth to brisket and super return of upper arm. Well ribbed which is carried well back, slight arch to loin end well angulated hind quarters with good width to second thigh, hocks well let down. Moved well in all directions, just preferred the hind movement of 1

3rd ) Osborne, Mrs C, Derohan Doubly Clever, Another lovely brindle bitch completed this trio.

Limit

1st) Longhurst, Mrs A & Miss A, Abbeyhurst Dancing Queen JW, Fawn Bitch who I judged as a young dog and is now fully mature. Good head and correct ears, elegantly arched neck in to well placed shoulder, good fill and return of upper arm, correct feet and spring to pastern, ribbing carried well back, well angulated hindquarters and good proportions to first and second thigh, hocks well let down, moved with drive and purpose. 2nd) Bass & Hall, Mesdames E S & D M, Shalfleet New Moon Rising at Silverfrift, Another lovely brindle and white dog who was unlucky to meet the winner, he has a beautiful head, elegant but remaining masculine, correct ears, neck elegantly arched, well-constructed forehand and ample depth to brisket, Ribbing cared well back. Well angulated and hocks well let down, moved well from all angles but particularly in profile, I preferred the overall shape of the 1st

3rd) Lahood,Ms T, Starceylon Spectre

Open

1st) Osborne, Mrs C, Loroli Life’s A Rollercoaster At Derohan, Balance brindle bitch, good head, correct ears and neck elegantly arched, shoulders well laid with good return to upper arm, good amount of depth to fore chest, nice feet. Ribbing cared well back strong through the loin and well angulated hindquarters. The best mover in the class.

2nd) Longhurst, Mrs A & Miss A, Zoraden Carrera At Abbeyhurst, Brindle Bitch, ideal for size who defies her age. she has a classical head, rose shaped ears, elegantly arched neck into a well-placed forehand, enough depth to brisket. Ribbing carried back and strong through her loin. Well angulated hindquarters. Moved well from all directions.

3rd) Davis, Mrs H A & Mr J P, Jemalsheva Goldikova
