Exeter and County Canine Society – 16th March 2024

 

Thank you very much to the show for inviting me to judge, my lovely stewards and also to the exhibitors who took the time to bring their lovely dogs under me.

1st Howgate & Hull’s Palmik Take Me Home

Lovely fawn/white refined & elegant with exquisite head properties, nice dark oval eyes with good pigment. A strong jaw the neck flows into shoulder which is well placed. Fine bone, straight front and good width. The ribcage is nicely sprung and just the right amount of rise over her loin. Good muscle tone, moving very well an attractive whippet that I look forward to watching it’s career progress.

 

2nd Pedley-Biggins’ Doddridge Dazzle Um With Viscar

An appealing head with kind expression, nice flowing lines with no exaggeration. Correct topline, moved well with typical action, very balanced and moderately angulated.

 

3rd McDonald’s All Eyes On Me Reverhof at Solentwaves (IMP LVA)

1st Stephen’s Jasteal Knight Of Kynance.

Good size and shape an eye catching dog, with beautiful colouring. Gentle expressive eyes, well balanced. Good length of neck which flows into his shoulders, ribbing, arch over the loin, front and depth of chest. Good angulation. He moves easily and soundly covering the ground well.

 

2nd Pedley-Biggins’ Viscar Dances with Lerryn

Well angulated front and rear with a correct top and underline. On the move she excelled showing sound ground covering movement, holding her shape on the move well.

 

3rd Prowse’s Freehamlet Saint Matilda

1st Lawrence & Woodward’s Bryntreia High Maintenance

Lovely boy, masculine yet an elegant head. Strong neck leading onto firm topline, well-muscled with the correct bone. He moved well straight & true keeping his topline – makes a fantastic outline stood, holds himself very proud.

 

2nd Crosscop one step closer to Freehamlet

Lovely outline, deep through brisket with a long and lean head. Very feminine, kind expression with small ears. Strong muscular rear quarters, great movement and drive.

 

3rd White’s Iscaglades Goldilocks

1st Collins’ Crosscop Glitter In The Air For Tecstravan

Very feminine girl of a lovely stamp. Beautiful head with kind expression, one of two who gave that look of ‘I know I am beautiful’. Pleasing shape through the body of good proportions with good angles. Nice straight legs, good width to second thigh and nicely let down hocks. Showed great freedom of action, moved with a long, easy stride whilst holding topline. Fought hard for BOB, just missing out fractionally to a maturer bitch.

2nd Stephens’ Jasteal Goddess of Godrevy

Another very pretty girl with a good head and eye, slightly finer in bone but still correct in body with a nice curvy shape, has good rear angulation and moved true.

1st Woodward’s Bryntreia Whispered Love at Palmik JW

Beautifully balanced feminine parti girl. Wonderful head and neck set into well laid shoulder, gives the look of self confidence. Excellent topline with a good depth of chest and spring of rib. Moved with drive from behind and long, low extension in front – absolutely sound as a pound. Makes a magnificent shape when stacked, fantastic outline, which just tipped her into BOB spot. BOB

 

2nd Bennett’s Alamayn Endevern

Fawn boy, up to size. An appealing shape, lovely head and expression, correct feet. Holds his topline well on the move.

1st Smith’s Tibbiestars Tutti Frutti at Lacoral JW

Gold sable. She presented a nicely balanced outline with the correct neck length, a level back, and a well-sprung ribcage. Her plumed tail has good carriage. Her head is well-proportioned with pleasing eyes and ears. She has correct hare feet and moves freely with excellent rear action.

2nd Rice’s Ricox I Love My Mini Me JW

Black-masked gold sable. A charming girl with a moderately short neck, level topline, nicely long ribcage, and a plumed tail that's well-set. She has a feminine look with a well-proportioned head, dark eyes, great ears, and good teeth and chin. Moves straight when coming towards and has a free, easy gait when seen in motion.

A pretty, feminine 20-month-old black and tan bitch with an attractive head and correct ear set. She has a good chin, is well-constructed with lovely bone and feet, and has a correct, well-presented coat. She moved out well.

1st CH Skyvana Empty Dreams of Starlance ShCEx

An excellent type with a balanced outline, moderately short neck, level back, excellent ribbing, and a high-set plumed tail. His well-proportioned head featured a defined stop, high-set pendant ears, dark expressive eyes, and a cushioned muzzle. Standing on correct hare feet, he moved freely with excellent carriage. His coat and presentation were fantastic, handled to get the best out of him every time – although at points he looked like he could do it all himself. BOB.

 

2nd Pure Soul Lucy’s Secret at Lacoral (IMP CZE)

There's so much to like about this quality 4-year-old black dog, He cuts a striking figure when standing. His masculine head, proportionately small to his body, features a well-padded muzzle, good dentition, and well-placed ears – unlucky to come against 1 today. RBOB

 

3rd Quintrelle I Am I Said with Tibbitude

1st Chenrezi Ti Amo

She has a nice size with a good front, lovely dark eyes, correct ear set and carriage, a good chest, and a level topline. She moved well and true.

 

2nd Quintrelle I Believe

In good coat, she is a very pleasing type with a nice outline. She moved well around the ring.

1st Barrett’s Frenchpride’s Day Dreaming

A brindle bitch with pleasing overall balance, she stands on well-boned legs and excellent feet. She has a deep body, well-developed ribs, and a short loin. Once settled, she moved well. BP & RBOB

 

2nd Luvum Chief Blackmoon

Sturdy and compact, with a square head and an intelligent expression in dark eyes framed by well-set bat ears. Unfortunately, he did not want to settle today.

1st Barrett’s Royal Topaz

A masculine dog with dark eyes and medium-sized ears correctly set. He has short, straight-boned forelegs, a deep chest, well-sprung ribs, and a moderate rear end. He moved soundly.

1st Hucker’s Bevanray Terrypendry JW

Pied – a pleasingly masculine, square-shaped head with a deep and square lower jaw featuring good cushioning. Ears were nicely positioned. His body was well-rounded and muscular, with a good roach. Hindquarters were also muscular and well-developed. BOB

 

2ndt Barrett’s Thomas The Steam Tank

Pleasing head and expression, correct front and rear quarters, deep chested, well-sprung ribs, and moved freely and soundly.

1st Reid’s Bubbapug King of Puddings

A fawn male who excels in all the right areas. He has a large, masculine head with lovely dark, round eyes perfectly placed. His nostrils are open and sufficiently wrinkled. He has a strong, wide underjaw, and his ears are well-positioned, enhancing his overall expression. His rear construction is solid. On the move, he displays a good reach in front and powerful drive. BP & RBOB

1st Makepeace’s Cedilla Cherry Jubilee at Sandigara

A compact and well-proportioned bitch of correct size, with ample substance throughout her body. She has pleasing head proportions and dark pigmentation. Her rear is strong, with a correctly high-set curled tail. She moved soundly around the ring.

 

2nd Kelsall’s Kelbrend Dreamy Duchess

Excellent head with good eye and ears, well-formed neck and top-line, well-ribbed with good fill in front, strong rear, and moved well.

1st Makepeace’s Hugapug Guy Fawkes at Sandigara BOB

Lovely size, with a good head, eye, and ears. He has an excellent neck and top-line. His tail is excellent, and his front and rear angulation are well-balanced. He moves very well.

 

2nd William’s Rosemoorpugs Blue Night Sky

A masculine black dog with strong bone and good pigment. He has a correct head and a soft expression. There's good depth of brisket with desired shoulder placement. He moves and shows well. Needs to mature, but one I have loved watching in the ring and will continue to follow his results.

 

3rd Kelsall’s Flaikwell Damson Jam

1st Makepeace’s Sandigara Second Thoughts

A handsome dog with a well-proportioned head, defined wrinkles on his forehead, dark round eyes, a correct mouth and bite, and well-set ears. He boasts a thick neck, straight front legs, and lovely feet with black claws. His chest is broad, his body short, and he maintains a strong topline.

2nd Reid’s Bubbapug Queen of Puddings JW

A fawn bitch exuding femininity. She has a lovely headpiece with superb eye placement and large, open nostrils. Her ears are well-set. She has a strong, arched neck flowing into a superbly sloping shoulder, elbows tight to a deep, wide chest. On the move, she exhibits superb reach in front and good drive in the rear.

Orange sable, presented in a well-groomed coat with dark pigment on nose. Displays excellent head proportions. Features a pleasing eye shape, with a short neck that blends well into the shoulders. Moves with a level topline and stands in a square shape, Compact body ,well ribbed, with correct tail set. Nicely boned and good feet. RBOB

1st Strange & Van De Burgt’s CH Norvanik Déjà Vu BOB

A pretty, compact black bitch with a lovely head and expression. She has small ears that blend into her coat, small eyes, and a good mouth. Her neck is short, with good shoulder placement and fine-boned, straight forelegs. She exhibits good ribbing, a level topline, and is short in loin, with good rear angles and a tail set high with good coverage. Presented in a beautiful presenting a beautiful silhouette that she maintains on the move, she moves like a dream and brings a smile to your face. BOB

1st Poyner’s Chinatown Moonstone

This young puppy entered the ring with great

enthusiasm. She possesses a feminine head with correct, dark round eyes,

beautifully placed ears, and a clear stop leading to a lovely expression. She

stands with a straight front and back. Although she moved around fairly well,

she is still just a baby. BP

 

2nd Whitton’s Chinatown Mystic Moon

Litter sibling to 1, more hesitant to be in the ring but that will come with time and confidence. Well-proportioned head, level topline and a coat with a soft texture.

A very appealing male with an ideal height-to-length ratio and overall size. He boasts an excellent head with a good apple shape and well-set ears. His body is excellent with a firm topline and moderate angles. He displays correct tail set and carriage and excellent feet. He moved very well in all directions. BOB

 

2nd Poyner’s Anadeia Ovation for Mikichi JW

Balanced skull with dark, round eyes. Clean front, well-laid shoulders, and a well-ribbed body with short loins. Perfect dentition. Moved smartly with purpose and accuracy. Just preferred the head of 1. RBOB
