I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this show. I would like to thank all the exhibitors who kindly brought their dogs for me to judge, I was delighted at the good entry of quality dogs. Unfortunately I had to withdraw from judging Retriever (Curly Coated) as I was offered a Championship show appointment. Lagotto Romagnolo J (2,1) Gilder & Blunden, Mikette Blues Brothers 11mth white dog. Lovely expression. Correct proportions. Good pigment. Open nostrils. Correct proportions, slightly upright in shoulder, well angulated behind. Straight legs. Tight feet. Well handled, excellent movement.BP PG (1) Blunden, Mikette Autumnal Equinox 17mth bitch. Super brown and white bitch. Slightly smaller ear. Straight legs, tight feet. Slightly shorter in back with dip behind the withers and slight rise to croup. Correct angulation, moderate in front and more angulation behind. Well let down hocks. Super coat of crisp curls. Correct tail set. O (1) Pragg & Willott, Articbreeze On Vacation, 12mth brown and white dog. Super expression and of good breed type. Correct proportions. Good pigment. Lovely open nostrils. Scissor bite. Level back. Great coat, good length of curl. Straight legs. Moved very well, despite the bounce! Lovely! BOB – On checking the catalogue, when writing my critiques, this dog was still a puppy by 5 days, so apologies to the owner as he should have also been BP in breed. Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling) J (6,2) 1 Powley, Danehaven Haha, 16mth dog. Smaller dog, super expression, lively, alert and caught my eye on entering the ring. Great coat of correct texture, lovely tight feet. Correct bite. Good overall proportions. Deep chest with moderate tuck. Tight elbows. Nothing overdone. Moved well. 2 Bate-Ash & Ash, Sinsircariad Old Fashioned, 10 mth dog. Happy puppy, ever wagging tail! Slightly longer in rear pastern. Appealing eyes. Slightly longer in muzzle/ Pink pigment. BP 3 Tester, Gingafing Best Of You, 6 mth bitch. PG (6,2) 1 Tester, Gingafing Forget Me Not, 3 1/2yrs bitch. Finer built, lovely head and expression, lively and happy. Good proportions. Tight elbows. Great coat. Moved well. RBOB 2 Powley, Danehaven Exploits, 16mth dog. Good head and expression, slightly low set ears. Larger framed. Deep chest, well tucked up. Excellent forehand. Tight feet. A bit lean today. 3 Elkin, Tollelkin Dream Dancer JW, 3yr bitch. O (11,4) 1 Elkin, Ch Tollelkin Caife Americano SGWC ShCEx, rising 5yr dog. Super dog and one I have liked before. Larger in stature but does not distract from his overall proportions and breed type, lovely rich colour and excellent coat. Lively and expressive, ever wagging tail. Deep chest, moderate tuck. Tight feet. Lively, springy movement, powerful hindquarters, covered the ground well. Handled to advantage. BOB 2 Anstead, Sh Ch Riverwatcher Koda, 3 1/2yr bitch. Slightly shorter in leg, another breed typical example. Deep chest with moderate tuck. Super coat. Tight elbows. Springy lively movement. 3 Fincham, Danehaven Macdonalds, 3yr dog. Spaniel (Field) J (4,1) 1 Osborn, Killara’s Pass The Crown to Elgert (Imp USA), 10mth docked bitch. Lovely bitch, correct proportions, Moderately angulated throughout. Super depth of chest. Lovely thick coat, ample feathering. Correct scissor bite. Tight eye, hazel in colour. Tight elbows and tight feet. BP. 2 Harrison & Macbain, Fecimus Never Ending Story, 8 mth dog. Lovely head and expression, plenty of bone. Deep chest. Slightly down in pastern but this should correct with age. Super coat. Moved well. 3 Stone & Parvin, Sonnetend It’s Meant To Be, 11 mth bitch. PG (3) 1 Macbain & Brewer, Fecimus Never Look Back, 8mth bitch. Lively, confident bitch. Correct proportions with good substance. Good pigment, open nostrils. Deep in chest with moderate tuck. Tight feet. Great coat and feathering. 2 James, Kingsmist Golden Future for Bleiddiaid JW, 17mth bitch. Feminine head, muzzle could be a bit longer and deeper, dark eye, correct scissor bite. Slightly lighter in frame. Good depth of chest, well tucked up. Good coat with ample feathering. 3 Johnson, Irisbel Coming Home to Sylviidae, 2 1/2yr bitch. O (5,1) Lovely class of quality dogs. 1 Osborn, ShCh Elgert Lady Sta’dust JW VW, 8yr black bitch. Just exudes breed type, caught my eye on entering the ring. Wedge shaped head, dark eye, correct scissor bite. Correct proportions throughout. Good coat with ample feathering. Moved well with ever wagging tail! BOB. 2 Macbain & Brewer, Am/Can/UKC Ch Fecimus Written In The Stars, 5 ½ yr bitch. Lovely head of correct wedge shape. Deep chest. Great coat, well feathered.
