Boston DCS Christmas Open Show

22nd December 2024

Thank you to the officers and committee for the invite to run this well run show. A huge thanks to the exhibitors for braving the cold conditions, it was certainly very much appreciated.

Bichon Frise

Special Yearling (1 Ent, 0 Absent)

1. Wilson’s Brokengate’s Rebel Heart at Kantosky –18 month old bitch who has the most enchanting expression. Beautiful head shape with excellent ear placement, limpid dark eyes and well proportioned muzzle. She excels in neck and shoulder and presents a very clean cut outline with a level topline and good tailset and a lovely proud head carriage. She stands four square and moved round the ring with effortless reach and drive keeping a good outline. Shown and presented in immaculate condition and was delighted to award her BoB and thrilled to see her go Group 4 in a quality Toy Group

1. Wilson’s Alio Everyone is Mad Here – 6 year old boy who was shown in immaculate condition. Lovely dark eye and nose pigment with a pleasing head and expression and good muzzle ratio. Good reach of neck and level topline and well placed tail. Ample bone for his size and moved steadily around the ring.

Open (1 Ent, 0 Ab)

1. Wilson’s Manoir Edge of the Universe at Kantosky – 4 year old who is an ideal size and shape. Prettiest of heads with a good ear set and dense nose and eye pigment. Excellent bone for her size with ample reach of neck set on good shoulder and kept a level topline at all times and nice tight and round feet. Pressed her kennelmate hard for BOB but just preferred the outline and more positive movement of the younger bitch.

Puppy (4,0)

1. Seed’s Chundecrest Mazikeen Might – 10 month old bitch who scored for her overall size and shape. She was small and graceful with the prettiest of heads with a gentle expression and nicely chiselled cheeks. Well arched neck that was lean and free from throatiness. Well placed shoulders, level topline and good tail carriage both standing and on the move. Nice long and slender legs and good hind angulation. She moved positively round the ring keeping a pleasing outline. Best Puppy

2. Peacock’s Pufflepaws Yes Sir I Can Boogie Iapea – 8 month old Powder Puff dog who was shown in good coat of nice condition. Nice head of good balance with good dark eye and nose pigment and well tapered muzzle. Ample neck set on good shoulders and with good bone and well bodied with a moderate tuck up. Tail carried high on the move with good reach and drive. A very pleasing puppy.

3. Simms Chundecrest My Love Romeo

Special Yearling (1,0)

1. Seed’s Chundecrest Sir Valentino – 10 month old powder puff dog who was litter brother of puppy winner. Attractive head and expression with good dark nose and eye pigment and well proportioned head and skull. Moderate neck set on a level topline and was mature in body with a moderate tuck up. Moved well keeping a happy and positive outlook.

1. Godfrey, Peacock and Hellmuth’s Shumlea Imagine A Dream – 18 month old power puff bitch who came alive on the move with a lovely graceful and positive movement with a good tailset. She has the most feminine head and expression with limpid dark eyes and dense nose pigment. Head and skull of good proportions and good flat cheeks and tapering muzzle. Graceful neck and good shoulders and legs set well under her body. Well rounded rump and good hind angulation. Moved true both coming and going. BOB

2. Farquharson’s Shanshal Man of Steel JW – pleasing head and expression with eyes of a good size and shape. Head of good proportions with gently tapering muzzle and showing a nice graceful appearance. Long neck that was graceful and held high at all times when moving round the ring. Medium body and good deep brisket. Moved round the ring with grace and ease. Pressed the class winner hard but just preferred the overall size of number 1.

3. Hall’s Chestnutcres Sun Bean

Open (2,1)

1. Farquharson’s Shanshal Prince of Arabia JW – powder puff boy of nearly 7 years of age who had a nice head, attractive expression and good flat cheeks. Well proportioned with a good size and medium bone and level topline and tailset and moderate tuck up. Moved well both coming and going with good hind angulation and muscular loins.

Puppy (3,1)

1. Hector’s Taisett Second Hand Rose – 6 month old baby who scores on size and her well knit frame. Most feminine heads and expressions with excellent earset and good dense nose and eye pigment. Nicely developed body for her age with amble bone and good topline and tailset. She moves with enthusiasm round the ring keeping a pleasing outline and using her well angulated rear. A lovely baby and I am sure she will have some fun in the ring. Best Puppy

Special Yearling (2,0)

1. Campbell’s Intime Poms New Beginnings at Diemzs (IMP) NAF – 13 month old girl who was presented to perfection with not a hair out of place. An ultra feminine head and expressions with the darkest of eye and nose pigment and the cheekiest of looks framed with well set ears. She is an ideal size and shape with nice bone and good straight legs with her body in proportion with good ribs and short back. She moves round the ring with great ease and soundness. A quality bitch who stood out in the small entry. Delighted to award her BOB

2. Burrows’ Altina’s Ray of Sunshine – 13 month old boy ho was presented in nice coat and condition. Lovely dark nose and eye pigment. Presents a nice outline both standing and on the move. Short neck and good bone, moved out well with well carried tail.

Puppy (1,0)

1. Oleary & Rutherford’s Haselorhill First Edition From Mopszawawa – what a classy young boy this is. 11 month old fawn and coming into his own. Good black mask with good wrinkles to his head and nicely pigmented and round eyes. Plenty of width to his muzzle. Well boned and muscled for his age with good bone and nicely sprung ribs. He moves round the ring with enthusiasm carrying his head proudly on a nicely arched neck. Well handled to get the best out of him. Best Puppy and was delighted to see him go Puppy Group 4. A boy that I am sure will have a bright future ahead of him.

Special Yearling (3,1)

1. Rutherford’s Afterglow Dreamsible with Potbelli – 15 month old bitch who is a nice overall size and shape. Cobby body with nice overall proportions and good hind angulation. Well bodied and good neck and shoulders. Feminine head and expression with nice black mask and good earset. Moved out well keeping a nice outline

2. Welham’s Nicobri’s Phoenix Rising at Barryann – another 15 month old fawn bitch who is a nice cobby shape and size with good bone. Nice front and rear angulation and good spring of rib. Pleasing head and expression with nice dark pigment.

1. Rutherford’s Ch Bilohka Dawn Patrol with Potbelli JW – this young bitch was my absolute star of the day and one of the nicest Pug’s I have had the pleasure of judging. Fawn of 20 months old and of undeniable quality – my notes say ‘naughty but nice’ as she was certainly putting her young handler through her paces today! Shown in ideal coat of excellent condition. Her head is in proportion to her body with a nice short square muzzle and ample wrinkles and lovely lustrous dark eyes. She is of ideal proportions with a lovely cobby body and ideal bone with good depth to her chest and ideal shoulder placement. Excellent hind angulation that she uses to advantage as she moves true from all angles. I just loved her and couldn’t deny her BoB.

2. Burrows’ Twirlytops Lest We Forget – 2 year old boy who has an attractive but masculine expression and nice dark expressive eyes. Good general construction with excellent hind angulation, ample neck, good bone for his neat size,  good firm topline, he covered the ground with ease
