Banff, Moray and Nairn Canine Club Open Show

Thank you very much for the Officers and Committee to judge this fantastic show. Despite the weather, which did throw, everything at us it was a fun and enjoyable day. A big thank you to my steward Sharon who kept the ring moving despite the trying conditions.

English Toy Terrier Open (2 Entered, 0 Absent)

1. Inch’s Edalene Court and Spark JW – 3 year old bitch who I have had the pleasure of judging previously. She has a lovely well balanced, clean outline. She has the nicest of heads and with a narrow and flat skull and good fill under the eyes. Well placed ears of nice size. Long and graceful neck with good lay of shoulder. Well rounded loin and good turn of stifle. Nice precise gait with good flowing movement. BoB and Group 3.

2. Inch’s Edalene Upside Down JW – 20 month old bitch with good bone and well bodied. Pleasing expression with good dark pigment and nice earset. Moved steadily round the ring.

Italian Greyhound Open (2,0)

1. Hardie’s Albalevriero Corrieburn – 2 year old bitch who was shown in lovely condition. She has a pleasing head and gentle expression with good eyes and lovely earset. Nice size and shape with a good bone and good hind angulation and she is very well muscled. She glided round the ring keeping a pleasing outline. BOB and Group 2

2. Hardie’s Rivertoy Red October at Albalevriero – 5 year old bitch who is built on similar lines to the winner. Attractive head and expression ample neck and good angulation front and rear. Well handled by her young handler.

Papillon Open (1,0)

1. Black’s Paparottsie Touch of Class - 4 year old black and white boy who was shown in profuse coat of lovely condition. Pleasing head and expression with good dark nose and eye pigment and nicely placed ears of good size. Good neck and shoulders, level topline and well set on tail. Moved round the ring with grace and ease.

Pomeranian Post Graduate (4,0)

1. Black’s Verona Tai Lauras to Zaandam (Imp Ltu) – 10 month old bitch who I found truly captivating. She is an ideal size and shape, lovely foxy head and expression with black nose and nice oval eyes and small well-set ears. Short neck, good lay of shoulder and short back and compact body. She moved round the ring with fabulous free moving action. Shown in a full bloom and presented and handled to perfection. I thought she was quite delightful, and I couldn’t deny her Best of Breed, Best Toy, Best Toy Puppy and Best Puppy in Show. Will follow her career with great interest.

2. Black’s Young and Smart Rai Lauras to Zaandam (Imp Ltu) - 7 month old baby who is absolutely full of promise and mischief. Moved out with great confidence for one so young keeping an eye-catching outline. Lovely foxy expression with nicer dark eyes of correct size and shape. Nice short neck set on a compact body. Well angulated hind quarters.

3. Mathieson’s Alexiasdream George Junior of Pomandenmore

Pomeranian Open (5,0)

1. Mathieson’s Alesiasdream is My Destiny for Pomandenmore – 2 year old dog who was shown in the most fabulous coat and condition and beautifully presented. Very compact and short coupled, pleasing expression with flat skull, good earset and nice dark nose and eye pigment. Good bone for his size and moderate hind angulation. Moved with verve round the ring.

2. Black’s Zaandam Thunder of Taurus - who again presents a nice shape both standing and on the move. Good front assembly and nicely angulated rear which allowed her to move out well both coming and going. Shown in a good coat of lovely condition.

Pug Open (3,1)

1. Scott-Downie’s Roxmarr Tickety Boo – 8 month old fawn girl who was enjoying her day in the ring. Square and cobby, good head size and short muzzle with large dark round eyes. Nicely arched neck set on well laid shoulder, short cobby body with well spring ribs, moved round the ring with enthusiasm keeping a nice outline with a level topline. BoB and Group 4.

2. Ritchie’s Abilkadra Bedazzled at Cheolview – 6 yr old bitch who is a nice overall size and shape. Cobby body with nice overall proportions and good hind angulation. Well bodied and good neck and shoulders. Feminine head and expression good earset. Moved well keeping a nice outline.

AV NSC Toy Open (2,0)

1. Curwood’s Omegaville Cover Girl (AZ1) – 2 yr old black and white Japanese Chin bitch, who has a profuse coat which is in lovely condition. She has the most gentle and feminine expression with nice large dark eyes, moderate neck set on a compact body. Moved round the ring with grace and ease. Presented in lovely coat and condition. Best AVNSC.

2. McKellar’s Wizzizz Efenity’n Beyond -Havenese who was shown in lovely condition. Good head and nice dark eyes with good strong pigment. Ample neck, good front and rear angulation. Movement was OK, he was certainly enjoying his day in the rain!

2. Inch’s Edalene Scoops Ahoy – 20 month old compact English Toy Terrier bitch with a balanced body and a handy size. Nice dark eye and nose pigment and well placed ears and a gentle feminine expression. Good turn of stifle and moved true both coming and going.

AV Toy Veteran (5,2)

1. Black’s Zaandam Russian Apprentice – 7 year old Pomeranian bitch who has the a lovely foxy expression, excels in her overall size and shape, shown in fantastic condition, lovely dense nose and eye pigment, ample neck and good firm body, excellent front and rear angulation, quite a captivating lady who moved well at all times. Shown in lovely coat of excellent condition and expertly handled as always by this exhibitor.

2. Inch’s Edalene Never Let Me Go VW – 8 year old ETT who is another I have had the pleasure in judging previously and have to say I am a fan of hers. She is an ideal size and shape and has a fabulous balance both standing and on the move. Nice feminine head and expression good neck and shoulders. A nice extended free flowing movement and was shown in nice coat and condition. She was very unlucky to come up against the lovely Pom.

Boston Terrier Open (2,1)

1. Scott’s Aprika Fargo at Rudino JW – Smart 19 month old black and white bitch who was an ideal size. Good size of skull that was free from wrinkles and good proportions and well defined stop. Dark eye and nose pigment and good set of ear. Nicely arched neck, good lay of shoulder and good spring of ribs. She moved round the ring with ease and grace, a quality exhibit BoB and Group 3

Dalmatian Open (2,0)

1. Bryder’s Diocletian Aberfeldy – what a cracking black and white puppy this was. She strutted her way into the ring. She is an ideal size and shape. Excellent head proportions with a moderate stop and fabulous nose and eye pigment. Gently arching neck and good lay of shoulders with well-muscled front and hind quarters. Well proportioned body and she powered round the ring keeping a lovely eyecatching outline, BoB, Group 2, Best Utility Puppy and Reserve Best Puppy in Show.

2. Bryder’s Diocletian Amoret - pleasing size and shape. Well balanced and good front and rear angulation. Attractive feminine head and expression , good dark nose and eye pigment. Moved with verve round the ring keeping a level topline and tailset

Lhasa Apso Open (2,0)

1. Ritchie’s Sifrasons Maximus At Cheolview - 16 month old boy old who was shown in superb coat and condition, lovely head proportions with a gentle and masculine head and expression with good dark nose and eye pigment. He had a well arched neck and good shoulders. Overall well balanced and presenting a pleasing outline both standing and on the move. Moved at all times with verve and presence and shone in the rain. BoB and G1

2. Ritchie’s Cheolview Soul Sister – Black and White bitch of slightly smaller stature than the winner. Good head and eyes. Well arched neck and good body. Good front and rear angulation. When settled moved out well.

Miniature Schnauzer Open (4,0)

1. Black’s Rynuan Sea the Stars with Zaandam - sturdy 4 yr old bitch who is nearly square. Lovely alert expression with a head of good proportions and muzzle that is powerful. Good eye and nose pigment with a nice oval medium size eye. Neck is moderate with a slight arch. Straight back and good front and rear angulation. She moves out well keeping a balanced outline. BoB and G4

2. Woodsford’s Karebals Hooray Henry – the baby of the class at 9 months old who presents a good overall size and shape. Pleasing head and expression. Good nose and eye pigment. Neck that is slightly arched, good spring of rib. Well muscled for age and moved steadily both coming and going.

Poodle (Standard) Open – (3,2)

1. Lees’ Taladayga Valentina – 5 year old apricot bitch with a feminine head with good earset, well arched neck, good front and rear assembly, well bodied and muscled, moved round the ring well keeping a good overall outline and had free and easy movement.

Poodle (Toy) Open (2,1)

1. Brunton’s Tafari Ta Da It’s Afterglow – 3 ½ yr old black dog who has a wonderful personality and although he stood alone in the class he was of obvious quality. Well balanced for his size. Pleasing head and expression, good dark pigment. Ample bone and good front and rear angulation. Moved out well at all times.

Tibetan Spaniel Post Grad (3,2)

1. Campbell’s Teindland Strathisla – 4 year old bitch who was well balanced in outline. A soft feminine expression with a nicely domed skull and a well defined stop. Good size and shape of eyes and dense nose pigment. Moderate neck and good lay of shoulder, level back and well sprung ribs. Positive movement at all times. BoB

Tibetan Spaniel Open (3,2)

1. Campbell’s Teindland Benromach – litter sister to the Post Grad winner who is a shade longer in body to her sister. Shown in good coat of lovely condition. Gentle feminine expression. Good neck and level back. Good front and rear angulation and moved steadily.

2. Campbell’s Teindland Macduff – 4 yr old both who was in pristine coat and condition. Good head proportions and free from any coarseness with a medium length of muzzle. Movement was true keeping a nice outline and good tailset.

Tibetan Terrier Open (4,2)

1. Thain’s Gentle Sweet Shadow - Shown in great coat and condition. Good general size and stood four square with good front and rear angulation, ample well arched neck and level topline. Moved well both coming and going.

2. Ritchie’s Dudleyarch Spend a Penny – black and tan boy who was a good shape throughout. Nice pigment with a pleasing expression. Moved well despite the wet conditions.

AV NSC Utility Open (3,1)

1. Wilson’s Izlou Everyday I’m Truffling at Flytesway G. Spitz Mittel – Black boy with attractive head and expression with well nicely cushioned foreface, well coated, good bone for his size, well balanced with excellent rear angulation, moved steadily round the ring. Best AVNSC.

2. Brown’s Lowashton Ebb Tide - Poodle (Min) – well balanced and elegant boy who was show in excellent coat and condition. Nice head with a moderate stop good fill under the eyes. Ample neck and good angulation. Moved with purpose and pride.

1. Ross’ Debbollinby Le Mans (Leonberger) - 3 year old boy who is strong and muscular. Head of good proportions with good pigment and pleasing eyes with well set on ears. Good mouth and strong neck and shoulders. Good depth of chest and moved OK round the ring Group 2

Group 1. Verall’s Grafmax Oberon at Camperdown JW – Dobermann - excellent shape and size with a lovely reach of neck, good bone, well developed forechest. He has excellent movement and power from his hind quarters. Group 1.

AV Working Minor Puppy (1,0)

1. Ross’s Gilvaris Puzzle Master (Leonberger) - raw 8 month old baby who has lovely bone and good front assembly. Nice head with a well proportioned muzzle and medium stop. Nice kind expression with oval ess. Moderate length of neck. Moved well just needs to tighten up in the hind quarters.

AV NSC Pastoral Open (2,0)

1. Rennie’s Diamondfox Sir Galahad (Imp Fin) (Collie Smooth) - 23 month old sable and white boy who had the lovliest of heads and expressions with great lines and proportions. Dense nose pigment and nicely set eyes that gave him a very intelligent expression. Good length of neck and good return of upper arm with moderate bone and good pasterns. Well bodied and good angulation to hind quarters. Moved with purpose with an effortless stride. Best AVNSC and Group 4

2. Forbes’ Aberdream Yours Only George (OES) – 11 month old boy who stood fore square. Pleasing head with a good muzzle proportions. Graceful neck and good front and rear angulation and well sprung ribs. Well coated for his age and of nice texture. Moved steadily round the ring

Pastoral Group

Group 1. Crawford’s Ch Mistyholly More Magic for Louiston – Australian Shepherd – 7 year old who was shown in absolutely gleaming coat and condition. Beautiful head and expression with lovely eyes and excellent pigment. Well boned, and good depth of chest, ample neck and good topline that was held at all times. She moved round the ring with drive using her excellent hind quarters that were well bent and had lovely muscle tone. She was expertly handled to get the best out of her and presented a beautiful outline both standing and on the move. Sometimes there are dogs that give you absolute goose bumps when you see and go over them and I can honestly say this was one of those dogs. An absolutely pleasure to judge and thank you to the breed judge for finding her. I couldn’t deny her Best Pastoral, Best in Show and Best Veteran in Show. I wasn’t surprised at all to find out afterwards she was a champion with multiple CC’s to her name.

Group 2. Kempton’s Borderbrook Fame or Fortune SHCEX – Border Collie who was put down in pristine coat and condition. She has the most pleasing head and expression, nice reach of neck set on level topline and has ample bone for her size. Excellent hind angulation and good muscle tone. She moved round the ring with drive and was very sympathetically handled to get the best out of her.

Group 3. Ryan’s Dychix Invictus for Razkal – Bearded Collie - Bearded Collie dog who I though was stunning, shown in in the most excellent coat of lovely condition. Beautifully balanced and presenting the most stunning shape both standing and on the move. Lovely head and expression, well arched neck and good shoulder placement. Well bent stifle that he used to advantage as he floated round the ring.

Group 4. Rennie’s Diamondfox Sir Galahad (Imp Fin) – See AVNSC

AV Pastoral Minor Puppy (3,0)

1. Kempton’s Biorderbrook Lucky in Love – Border Collie of 8 months who was another shown in beautiful coat and condition. Prettiest of heads with lovely dark eye and good earset. Gently arch to her neck and good front and rear angulation , level topline held both standing and on the move. She moved round the ring with a graceful ease keeping a nice balanced outline.

2. Shorten’s Glencorrie Stella Bark at Bracoisla – Collie (Smooth) up close to the winner an exceptionally well schooled sable and white bitch of 8 months. Prettiest of heads and expressions. Good earset with ears that are moderate in size. Well arched neck with level back and slight rise on loins and good depth of chest. Muscular hind quarters and move round the ring with ease.

Well developed body with good spring of rib. Moved well at all times keeping a pleasing shape and driving from his hindquarters.

2. Stasova’s Aussie Welkope Daj Mi Chwile IMP POL – 3 year old Australian Shepherd bitch who has a good overall size and shape, pleasing head with good earset, good topline, tailset and well boned for her size. Movement was OK round the ring and well presented

2. Savage’s Talraz Comic Relief at Canaich JW – 7 year old Bearded Collie who is nicely coated and presented. Broad flat sqaure head with nicely proportioned muzzle and moderate stop. Moderate length of neck which is well muscled, good lay of shoulder and excellent bone. Level back and good spring of rib, good tail carriage and well muscled rear end. Moved well at all times.

Reserve Best In Show - Munro’s Panthera Bad Medicine Dukmaur (Imp Pol) – Gordon Setter – stylish bitch who commanded attention as she drove round the ring keeping a lovely outline with well arched neck and excellent hind angulation.

Best Special Minor Puppy in Show - Bower’s Sasilasy Edge of Chaos at Lyonglen – Basset Hound – well balanced baby who moved with a purposeful action. Lovely head with good pigmentation, good neck and shoulders and excellent hind angulation.

Reserve Special Minor Puppy in Show - Forbes’ Karensbrae Beebop – Cesky Terrier – who was full of personality. Scored well for her overall outline with an excellent neck and shoulders. Medium body and well arched loin and good spring of rib.

Best Special Puppy in Show - Black’s Verona Tai Lauras to Zaandam (Imp Ltu) (see Pomeranian Post Graduate)

Reserve Special Puppy in Show - Bryder’s Diocletian Aberfeldy (see Dalmatian Open)

Reserve Best Veteran in Show - Bannister’s Ch Miteymidgets Going Global JW SHCM VW – Bedlington Terrier – graceful and full of quality. Perfect head with gentle lines and good full under the eyes. Long tapering neck and good forequarters and deep chest. Hindquarters were muscular and moderate and well let down hocks. Moved with grace and ease.

AV Mary McCance Open Stakes

1. Saunderson’ Moloko Izipizi at Crobeag – well coated golden retriever who was a lovely size and shape. Lovely dark pigment and pleasing head and expression. Well off for size and shape showing a nice neck and shoulders. Good bone for size and moved round the ring with grace and east.

2. Thomson & Forbes - Louiston Defying Gravity with Karensbrae 1 year old Australian Shepherd bitch who was shown in lovely coat and condition. Well arched neck and good shoulders with a lovely hind angulation. She has a fabulous attitude and you can’t help but smile at her.

1. Swanson’s Zeldini Oren of Altimarlach & Altimarlach Balnabruich – Deerhounds that were beautiful and graceful in the movement and presence. Two fabulous dogs.

2. Albalevriero Corrieburn & Rivertoy Red October at Albaevriero – perfectly matched Italian Greyhouds who presented a lovely picture and were so similar in type.

3. Swanson’s Ch Cotherstone Dallas Dhu of Altimarlach & Altimarlach Archangel - Deerhound
