Clumber Spaniel

I was highly delighted with my lovely entry of 14 for my first time of judging a breed I hold very close

to my heart and have done since I was a youngster. The quality and soundness of exhibits was great

to see although there could have been cleaner ears particularly as this is sticking point for Clumbers.

Many thanks to my stewards who kept the ring running smooth and to the exhibitors for the great

sportsmanship.

PD 5 (1)

1st – BODEN Suelynda Boom Bang A Bang

What a smashing pup. Full of breed type, plenty of bone, whilst well balanced and drove around the

ring effortlessly with purpose and drive. He had a good head with that typical thoughtful expression,

clean eyes and clean ears, strong thick neck with strong shoulders, short straight legs with large

round feet. Lovely silky coat and already well feathered at his young age. Handled beautifully, I am

sure he has a bright future ahead. Absolutely no hesitation in awarding him Best Puppy in Breed and

was chuffed to bits to see him take WPG3.

2nd – TAYLOR Kikara Moaning Myrtle at Delsaux

Another beautiful puppy, very feminine and was unfortunate to meet 1st place today. Again oozing

breed type but yet still maintained her femininity throughout. Clean eyes and clean ears, typical large

ears. Strong forequarters, with short straight legs. Well sprung ribs with strong hindquarters. Moved

lovely around the ring and was handled impeccably.

1st - TAYLOR Fly Me to the Moon

This bitch stood alone but that takes nothing away as her first place was very well deserved. Strong

head, lovely front assembly, clean eyes, clean ears and clean correct mouth. Presented beautifully

and immaculately, lovely temperament. Powerful hindquarters which drove her round the ring with

ease, awarding her RBOB was without question.

1st – BURGE Gracedieu Stars and Stripes

Clean head with clean eyes. Would have preferred a stronger front with a little more bone for her

age. Sound in temperament and was happy to be in the ring.

Open 5 (1)

The two I placed 1st and 2nd could swap places on another day, my first place today was picked on

movement.

1st – MONAGHAN Sh Ch Tweedsmuir She's So Sheek

I have admired this bitch from ringside for some time. She is a quality example of the breed and just

demands your attention with her ring presence. She has substance but still feminine and moves off

with ease. She powered around the ring without hesitation and with drive from her powerful

hindquarters. Her head is well proportioned with very clean eyes and ears, presented and was

groomed immaculately. Handled to show her off to her best and I was pleased to award her Best of

Breed.

2nd – WHITEHOUSE Sh Ch Maursett Mallachie at Molvonia

Excellent strong dog, well balanced, with good bone. Typical thoughtful expression with that lovely

Clumber temperament. Large square head with heavy brows, clean eyes , good mouth. Strong, fairly

long neck leading into strong shoulders with a good straight front assembly. Typical well feathered

coat, movement was sound and with purpose but on the day just preferred movement of 1.

3rd – BURGE Gracedieu Brooklyn Bridge
