LABRADOR RETRIEVERS

My thanks to the Club for the invitation to judge Labrador bitches at this lovely show. My stewards Kirsty and John kept the day running smoothly and I thank them also for their work throughout the day.

Puppy 5/1

1st Terry & Downes ELLUKINE CRÈME DE LA CRÈME This yellow 9mth old bitch had a super outline not overdone or carrying any excess weight. Good pigment. A feminine head using her ears well for expression, with lovely reach of neck and correct coat. Enough bone and width of fore chest with legs under her. Sloping pasterns to tidy feet, well let down and correct tail carriage she moved very well with her owner. Delighted to see her win BPIB

2nd Gower DENIANGILL SCARLET RIBBONS at AUGHTONCHASE Another quality puppy. Melting expression on this feminine yellow enhanced by correct eye shape. Another not carrying too much weight. A more compact girl, with a great coat and enough bone, good turn of stifle moved with ease.

Junior 1/1

Graduate 7/3

1st Morrow RHYTHM LACEY Loved this Chocolate girl. Super eye colour to compliment good coat shade, coarse and plenty. My notes say fit- she looks athletic and strong. Maintained a level topline standing and on the move. Good reach of neck and lay of shoulders. Great extension on the move and a relaxed girl at one with her handler. RBB

2nd Gower AUGHTONCHASE HONEY PIE Another compact girl of pleasing yellow, plentiful coat, compact and well off for bone again, good reach of neck and firm topline, slightly hesitant on the move however, stood well.

Post Graduate 4/2

1st Baron LANDEBEC CRAZY IN LOVE Lovely yellow bitch completely at one with her handler. Sweet expression with a feminine head. Well placed shoulders and good fore chest plenty of spring of rib and well-made rear with good turn of stifle. Moved well.

2nd Thompson MEADOWLINE MOGUL This yellow girl was being handled by a young novice handler who coped extremely well. Pleasant Yellow bitch with an attractive head and good length of muzzle .Would prefer more length of leg and carrying too much weight today, coat good and happy and moved ok

Limit 1/0

1st Jones WILLOWRUSH KERSEY DUSK AT SERENJAR A pleasing colour on this slightly darker yellow girl. Well defined stop on a slightly broader head. Good bone, level topline moved ok once settled.

Open 5/1

1st Dawson WYNFAUL CARBON COPY AT BESKERBY JW This quality black bitch had such ring presence, calm and assured. A beautiful feminine head with super eye colour giving a wonderful expression. Strong neck leading to well-placed shoulders fore legs strong and straight with tidy feet. Good spring sat under a level topline, not as compact as 2nd. Hind quarters well made which showed in her movement as she drove round the ring carrying her tail gaily. BB & RBIB Challenged hard for BOB

2nd Baron MARIANK VANITY FAIR AT LANDEBEC This super compact yellow pushed hard in this class. Lovely outline, used her feminine head well, great reach of neck, lovely fore chest and bone. Another with super coat texture, moved well just needed a bit more dazzle today.
