4th August 2024.

Airedale Terrier.

Puppy. 1. 1. Toulson’s Toulsyork Urban Jet. 11-month-old bitch. Nicely proportioned but strength of colour still to come through. Wedge head with dark eye and scissor bite. I prefer ears slightly smaller be had good reach of neck and level topline. Well angulated and moved true.

Junior. 1. 1. Toulson’s Toulsyork Utterly Bonded. Litter brother to the puppy. Same comments apply. Better ears and a straight front. Slightly less bone but well angulated. Held the topline on the move which was straight and balanced. More presence. BP & BOB. TPG4.

Border Terrier.

Puppy 2. (1a). Hardman’s Whytedyke Fay at Spanwise. 6 months old bitch. Properly shaped head with dark eye and scissor bite. Harsh coat set on a proportionate body. Spannable with level topline and sufficient angulation. Moved well. BP.

Post Graduate. 3. 1. Swain’s Borderrush Clementine for Ardenholm. 13-month bitch. Well-shaped head with dark eye and good bite. Reach of neck led to level topline and good angulation. Spannable with that harsh coat required. Moved well with balance. BOB. TG4. 2. Thornburn’s Sweet Olives Girl. Slightly broader head than 1 with a finer build. Same other qualities with balanced movement but ears could be slightly smaller.

Open. 3. (1a). 1. Sweet Olives Girl. 2. Swain’s Weststar Lone Ranger at Ardenholm. Dark grizzle dog. Nicely shaped with good angulation and proportionate build. Not as balanced on the move.

Jack Russell Terrier.

Puppy. 3. (1a) 1. Clayton’s Undiscussed with Russtyles’ Du Vallon De L’Alba Northdrum. 11-month-old bitch. Stood proportionately built with a lovely broken coat. Well set small ears on wedge shaped head, dark eye and scissor bite. Reach of neck led to level topline. Muscular rear and set on tail. Angulated. Moved straight with purpose. BP and TPG 2. 2. Clayton’s Northdrum Highland Gold. 9 months old bitch. Nice dog which was well made with all the attributes of the breed. Rear movement could be better.

Junior 2. (1a). 1. Copping and Winnard’s Jaeva Moon for Ruttaro. Dog. Unexagerated build with broken coat. Ears set on wedge head could be slightly smaller. Level topline and set on tail. Straight and balanced on the move. Angulation fine with good reach of neck, Muscular rear. BOB

Post Graduate. 3. (2a). 1. Kay’s Jackopeaks This is Me. Bitch. Short coated and proportionately built. Head not quite wedgy but had the dark eye and set on ears. Level topline and good tail carriage but would prefer a little more animation and drive when moving.

Open. 5. (2a). 1. Laycock’s Chandlimore Buddy Boy. Dog. Just over 12 months and built correctly. Dark eye, scissor bite, set on ears and reach of neck. Level topline and set on tail. Unexagerrated. Moved straight with purpose. 2. Kay’s Blazingjacks Best Mate with Jacopeaks.. Dog. Finer built than one with lots to like. Level topline, muscular rear and unexaggerated. Just didn’t have the presence of 1 on the move.

Parson Russell Terrier.

Puppy. 1. Baker’s Deglacobs Rebecca Riot by Pacolito. 11-month-old bitch. Loved her as soon as she came in. Head correctly formed and carried with dark eye and scissor bite. Elegant neck led to good shoulders and level topline. Tail well set and carried. Angles in the correct place. Moved freely, straight, with reach and drive and lightness of foot. Easily spannable. Interested in proceedings with ring presence. BP. BOB. TPG 1. TG1. RBIS. BPIS. Congratulations.

Junior. 1. Shields Pacolito Follow the Lead with Shielmarsh. Bitch. Nicely presented with good head, eye and teeth. Ears a little wayward. Proportionately built with sufficient angulation. Spannable. Moved straight but could have had a bit more freedom.

Open 3. 1. Baker’s Tusiquevales Jabberwocky to Pacolito. Bitch. Proportionately built with wedge shaped head, dark eye and scissor bite. Correct smaller ears. Reach of neck led to good shoulders and level topline. Tail set properly. Angulated and spannable. Moved straight with balance but without the lightness of foot of the puppy. 2. Baker’s CH Pacolito Ressurection. Dog. Like the others here, a quality dog. Head good with dark eye, teeth and reach of neck. Ears a bit long for me. Proportionately built and spannable with sufficient angulation. Moved straight, true and was balanced.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Puppy. 3. (1a). 1. Turner and Evans Niatona Hollyhock. 11-month-old bitch. Strongly built with good bone. Small well-set ears with dark eye, pronounced stop and muscular head. Slightly bigger build but moved straight and balanced. Short coupled and tail carried right. BP. 2. Miller’s Skyland Ryoko. 7 months old bitch. Much the same as 1 but all over more finely built. Strong head, short coupled with good angulation. Moved straight and true. Should body up a bit more with age.

Post Graduate. 3. (2a). Miller’s Skyland Consort JW. 22 months old Brindle Bitch. Strong balanced head with set on ears, dark eye and pronounced stop. Elegant neck led to laid back shoulders and muscular body. Short coupled and well boned. Moved straight and true with balance. Tail a little up but did not distract from her appearance. BOB. TG3.

Open. 3. (1a). 1. Liversidge’ Hatson Getting Away with It. Bitch. 6-year-old with proportionate head, dark eye and distinct stop. Well boned and muscular. Short coupled and moved straight but not fully balanced. Ears set on with distinct stop. Angulated. 2. Parry and Gill’s Leebee’s Zakiyah at Saxstaff. Red/White Bitch. Very similar dog to 1 but shorter with sufficient angulation. Not fully balanced on the move and tail carriage too high for me.

AVNSC Terrier.

Puppy. 3. (1a). 1. Smithson and Mayfield’ Rebelside Mythical Moon at Phoenixscar. 11-month-old Bull Terrier bitch. Had that egg shaped head with dark eye and black roman nose. Teeth good and set on ears. Well bodied and coupled with sufficient angulation. Moved straight. Happy girl. BP. 2. Taylor’ Verumamicus Drusus. 9 month old Skye Terrier dog. For the age the head had developed nicely with furnishings on the head and body. Dark eye and prick ears. Level topline and correct tail carriage. Unfortunately, not settled on the move.

Junior. 3. 1. Clayton’ Nisyros Rigatoni for Lokilake. Lakeland terrier dog. Rich red harsh coat colour all over. Boxy shaped but a little long in body. Well made head with small triangular ears. Dark eye and scissor bite. Elegant neck led to level topline, correct shoulders and straight front. Angulation allowed excellent movement. 2. Bell’ Whooperhil Serendipity for Letara. Sealyham Terrier bitch. Proportionately built with dark eye, scissor bite. Prefer slightly smaller ears. Straight front, neck leading cleanly into level topline. Angulated with level back. Tail a little high and a bit unsettled on the move.

Post Graduate. 5. (2a). 1. Clayton’ Lokilake Rainbow Red. Lakeland Terrier bitch. Again, had a rich red harsh coat all over. Much of the previous Lakeland applies to this girl, difference is that she is much shorter coupled giving a much better boxy look. Moved extremely well. 2. Dodds Droverlaw Follow My Shadow. Cairn Terrier Dog. Proportionately built with wedge head, dark eye and scissor bite. Level topline with adequate angulation. Movement could be better.

Open. 5. (2). 1. Bell’ CH Zipport Sleepy Sapphireson at Lentara. Sealyham Terrier dog. Impressive when first viewed and did not disappoint. Correct head with dark eye, scissor bite, well folded ears of right size. Reach of neck led to good shoulders and topline. Angulated. Tail set nicely and carried well. Moved straight, true and smoothly. BOB. TG2. Close call.

Open. 3. Hardman’ INT/FIN/EST CH Red Lucifer at Bonosue. Irish Terrier dog. Good specimen of the breed with dark harsh coat. Well carried ears, dark quizzical eyes, no fullness of face, reach of neck led to laid back shoulders and level topline. Angulated giving smooth movement. 2. Leebee’s Zakiyah at Saxstaff.
