Labrador Retrievers

Puppy (5,3abs):

1st Cook’s EXELBY NORMAN – 8mth old black dog masculine in head with a dark eye and kind expression. Well made front construction, body developing well with correct loin length. Lovely feet and bone. Nicley developed quarters with good muscle. In good coat using his tail well, Moving very soundly around the ring. BP

2nd Morrow’s SERENGOCH’S NINE TO FIVE – 8mth old Chocolate bitch with a pretty head. Good neck and well-placed shoulder. Stood on good bone. Needs time to mature and fill out but time is on her side. In nice coat & condition. Moving with rear drive.

Junior (5,3):

1st Disley’s MOSSLAND MISS JOSEPHINE – 16mth black bitch of correct size. Feminine in headpiece with correct eye shape and colour. Decent front makeup with good return of upper arm. Well barrelled ribs. Level topline. Nicley muscled quarters. Using her tail well both stood and on the move. In good coat & condition. Moving with lovely drive.

2nd Cook’s EXELBY AURA – 2yr old chocolate bitch heavier in head than the winner, correct eye colour, good neck and shoulder. Longer in loin than I prefer which affected her topline on the move. Well-muscled rear. In good coat.

Post Graduate (10, 7):

1st Proctor’s LEJIE SUGAR ALMOND AT PENKARIC – 22mth old Yellow bitch of correct size, presented clean lines. Pretty head with good width, correct ear set, good eye colour and alert expression. Super front construction. Stood on neat feet with correct bone. Well sprung barrelled ribs with short loin. Excellent rear quarters. Great tail which she used well. In lovely coat & condition. Moving precisely and freely. BOB.

2nd Morrow’s RHYTHM LACEY – 2yr old Chocolate bitch broader in back skull than 1st, alert expression, clean neck and well-placed shoulders. Tidy feet. Well sprung ribs level topline, would prefer more bend of stifle. Moving soundly.

3rd Merrison’s OAKENHOLT ALTAN

Limit (5,2):

1st Proctor’s LEJIE SUGAR ALMOND AT PENKARIC

2nd Hughes’s CINDERS SALTY SEA – 3yr old black dog masculine head with alert expression. Good lay back of shoulder. Stood on lovely bone and neat feet. Well developed body. Level topline. Muscular quarters. Good tailset. Turned out in good coat. Moving freely.

3rd Merrison’s OAKENHOLT ALTAN

Open Dog (2,1):

1st Disley’s ACREDAM YELLOW HAMMER – 15mth Yellow dog broad skull but slightly longer in muzzle than ideal, neck clean and enough front angulation. Forelegs well boned. Slightly longer in loin. Well made rear angulation. Tail correct with level topline. He was loving his time in the ring today and was giving his handler a workout! Turned out in good coat.

Puppy (5): A class of nice promising youngsters

1st Gardner’s DANWISH TROUBADOUR – 7mth old dog of lovely breed type and balanced for such a young age. Exquisite in head super dark eye providing kind expression, correct ear set. Lovely length of neck into a well laid-back clean shoulder. Body beginning to develop well with good depth of chest, well sprung ribs carried well back. Super rear angulation. Turned out in lovely coat & condition. Moving freely with such ease. BP delighted to hear he went BPIS. Promising show career ahead for him.

2nd Holehan’s LOGANWISH TIGER WARRIOR – 6mth old dog with masculine head and correct eye colour & shape. Good length of neck slightly arched and into a lovely front construction. Just a baby but everything in the right place. Firm in topline and good tail set. Quarters well bent and decent muscle. In great coat & condition. Moving with good rear drive.

3rd Holehan’s LOGANWISH TIGER LILLY PEARL – litter sister to 2nd also a very promising girl will swap places with her brother on another occasion I’m sure.

Junior (3,2):

1st Gardener’s DANWISH SOPRANO – 7mth old litter mate to puppy class winner, many of the same attributes as her brother. Pretty head of correct proportions. Decent front makeup and good depth of chest body developing well for her age. Turned out in tip topcoat & condition. Both puppies a credit to their owner/breeder. Moving freely with good rear drive.

Post-Graduate (2):

1st Green’s LOGANRISH OUT ON THE TOWN – 20mth dog handsome headed dog with lovely eye and expression. Good length of neck clean into well laid-back shoulder. Stood on correct bone and feet. Firm in topline with well developed ribs. Needs time to mature in body and coat. Quarters nicely muscled and good bend of stifle. Moving freely.

2nd Gilk’s SUTERESETT MR MISTOFFELEES AT GOCHMAWR – 4yr old dog of heavier type than 1. Enough neck. Forelegs straight with good bone. Good spring of rib carried well back. Decent rear quarters but losing his topline on the move.

1st Cohen’s LYNWOOD MERRY MAY KING WITH SHUSHANA – 4yr old dog stood on clean lines. Masculine noble head of correct proportions. Super arched neck and well sloped shoulders. Forelegs well boned. Good depth of chest and ribs carried well back. Level in topline. Lovey rear quarters with good muscle. Turned out in great coat. Moving with good rear drive.

Open Bitch (1):

1st Robinson’s & Rowbottom’s LANSTARA RED DRESS AT CHERRORVALE – 5yr old bitch with such an appealing head. Stacked presents a very balanced outline. Super length of neck arched into a well sloped shoulder placement. Great depth of brisket. Body well developed and ribs carried well back. Firm in topline. Correct tailset. Quarters well developed and correctly bent stifles. Turned out in super coat & condition. Moving with such ease. BOB.
