Cheshire Cocker Spaniel Club Open Breed Show 5th May 2024

Many thanks to the committee for the kind invitation to judge their breed club show and to the exhibitors for the pleasure of their dogs.

Any Colour Veteran (3,1abs):

1st Beever’s SNOWGATE PARTI OVER TO DANDYJAN – 8yr old blue dog of correct size. Pleasing head & expression well made front with good bone and neat feet. Super clean neck and shoulders. Excellent spring in rib short-coupled body. Good rear muscle tone. Presented in excellent coat & condition. Moving out soundly both fore and aft. Pleased to award him BVIS.

2nd Needhams’s SNOWGATE GOLD EDITION AT MERRYHAZE 7yr old red dog of nice type, not quite the head of the winner but lovely kind expression. Good lay back of shoulder and nice bone. Tidy feet. Level firm topline. Good depth of chest. Lacking a bit of muscle tone. Moving ok. Presented well.

Any Colour Baby Puppy (4):

1st Whitehead’s RYALLCOURT TWIS TAN SHOUT 5mth old dog of lovely breed type. Lovely head with correct square muzzle and melting expression. Decent reach of neck and well-placed shoulder. Stood on excellent bone and feet. Body beginning to develop nicely for his tender age. Firm in topline. Well let down quarters. Firm in muscle tone. Presented in tip top condition. Moving soundly covering the ground well. BBPIS

2nd Prydderch’s ZIENNES NEW STATESMAN -4mth old dog of good substance. Lovely head and expression. Super bone and neat feet. Decent front angulation and lovely spring of rib beginning to develop. Well made quarters. Moving well with rear drive.

A lovely class of promising youngsters. 1st Tavernor’s CASSOM DANCING QUEEN AT REGALTAV – 6mth old blue of lovely breed type, pleasing head with super chiselling below the eyes correct quare muzzle and ear set. Good reach of neck and a well-placed front. Body developing well for her young age. Ribs beginning to spring and firm in topline. Short coupled body with decent rear angulation and muscled quarters. Turned out in super coat & condition. Will certainly have a very bright future. Moving out soundly with confidence. RBPIS

2nd Wildman’s GLANTRAETH OVATION AT OKTUMI – blue 6mth old correct size. Pretty headpiece just not the fullness of the winner, lovely kind dark eye and correct ear set. Super neck and shoulder. Body developing well with good depth. Short coupled body. Super level topline which she held beautifully on the move. Excellent rear angulation, with short hocks. Presented down to the minute. Moving accurately fore and aft.

3rd Shrinkfield’s QUETTADENE RISING STAR

Any Colour Puppy Dog (2):

1st Harrison’s GLENBROWS BLUE SHERBET – 9mth old Blue who presented a clean outline when stacked. Masculine in head with lovely chiselling below the eye, square muzzle, lovely dark eye providing a soft kind expression. Super neck and lay back of shoulder. Good depth of brisket. Lovely spring of rib and short loin. Correct rear angulation with good muscle tone. Good tail set. Well-presented and moving with lovely rear drive. Will have a bright future. Pleased to award him BPIS.

2nd Prydderch’s ROCKLLOCERS CONDOR – B/T 10mth old of different type to 1st. Masculine in head and kind dark eye. Good length of neck. Stood on sturdy bone and neat feet. Body well developed for his age, with a good spring of rib. Lovely let down quarters. Not quite as firm in topline as the winner. In lovely coat and presented well. Moving soundly.

Any Colour Puppy Bitch (3):

1st Tavernor’s CASSOM DANCING QUEEN AT REGALTAV

2nd Pendlebury’s CHATAWAY NEW BEGINNING – 9mth old Black of nice type pretty head and dark eye. Good neck. Correct bone and feet. Would prefer a bit more lay back of shoulder. Straight front. Good spring of ribs, level topline and correct tail set. Carrying a little bit too much weight which spoilt her outline. Well-proportioned rear quarters. Moving soundly.

3rd Harrison’s FOREVER RIZI BIZI TAMARA

Special Black, Red, Golden, Black & Tan or Liver Junior (9, 4):

1st Davies’s KERRIGLOW SUMMER SOLSTICE – Black 11mth old dog masculine headpiece and kind eye. Well placed shoulder and return of upper arm. Good depth of brisket. Excellent bone and catlike feet. Super spring of ribs and short coupled body. Firm in topline. Moving soundly although slightly wide behind. Presented in lovely coat.

2nd Hendersons’s PENDLEDELL MIA TESORINO – 16mth old black bitch with a pretty head a dark eye providing a kind expression. Decent neck and shoulder. Good spring of rib slightly longer in loin than 1st and not as firm in topline. Short hock. Good rear angulation. Presented well.

3rd Prydderch’s ROCKLLOCERS ATROPOS

Any Other Colour Junior (6,2):

1st Whitehead’s RYALLCOURT STEP IN TIME – 13mth old dog who stood makes a lovely shape of lovely breed type. Masculine in head with lovely fluting, correct eye shape and colour providing a lovely soft expression. Correct ear set. The best of front construction with lovely bone and tight feet. Excellent spring of ribs with correct short- coupled body. Firm in topline. Lovely rear angulation and good muscle tone. Turned out in nice coat. Moving with drive from the rear. Will have a bright future.

2nd Mason’s LEECHBABY HOT SHOE SHUFFLE TO SANDLAUGA – 12mth old bitch pretty head with correct eye shape and colour. Good lay back of shoulder would prefer slightly more width in front. Well developed body and enough rear angulation. Carrying a little excess weight which spoilt her topline. Presented well in nice coat.

3rd Bradbury & Mather’s KYNA CRYSTAL CLEAR

Any Colour Yearling (10,2):

1st Henderson’s PENDLEDELL TI AMO – Black bitch 16mth of correct size. Decent in headpiece with correct eye colour allowing for a kind expression. Clean in neck & shoulder. Well developed body slightly longer in loin than ideal. Well-made quarters. Showing well and moving soundly.

2nd Noel’s MARISOPA OF MORNING MEADOW – 20mth old Red bitch of nice type. Pretty head correct eye colour. Good ear set. Well-proportioned front. Well ribbed short couplings. Needs time to mature. Firm topline. Well let down rear with good muscle. Presented in decent coat & condition.

3rd Bradbury & Mather’s KYNA CRYSTAL CLEAR

Any Colour Special Beginners (5,2):

1st Coombes’s TOMARISROAN STAR MAKER Blue bitch of correct size. Feminine head with a kind expression. Straight forelegs good bone and neat feet. Correct lay back of shoulder. Body well developed. Firm topline. Moving with good rear drive.

1st Nolan’s OKTUMI PAINTED IN DIAMONDS FOR JERNITO – 3yr old impressive blue bitch of super breed type & quality. Stacked she provided the balanced typical outline. Prettiest of headpiece’s dark eye colour and melting soft expression. Correct ear set. Clean neck and shoulder. Super bone and neat feet. Lovely front assembly. Well-developed body with lovely spring of ribs. Short couplings. Firm topline. Super rounded quarters and turn of stifle. Short hocks. Tuned out in first class coat & condition and handled superbly. The soundest mover with great cocker action. Pleased to award her BIS.

1st Marris-Bray, Wiggins & Wood’s GLOWHILL GALLIVANT JW – Blue dog of old-fashioned breed type & quality, superb head providing masculinity and elegance with a kind expression. Lovely neck and shoulders. Nothing over done on this boy. Super front angulation. Lovely bone and substance throughout providing that compact outline. Lovely rounded quarters and well-muscled. Presented in excellent coat & condition. Lovely true sound movement fore & aft. RBIS.

2nd Mitchell’s GLOWHILL CHIQUITITA – litter sister to the winner and shares many qualities of her brother in breed type and soundness. Sweet feminine head with a soft kind expression. Lovely neck and shoulder placement. Good depth of body. Short couplings. Presented well and moving with great rear drive.

3rd Noel’s MARISOPA OF MORNING MEADOW

Any Colour Mid-Limit (3):

1st Beever’s DANYJAN TINY DANCER – 3yr old blue bitch of nice size and type. Pleasing in head and expression. Decent enough front and lay back of shoulder. Good spring of ribs but carrying a little too much weight which spoilt her outline. Good bone. Nicley proportioned quarters. Well-presented coat.

2nd Mitchell’s GLOWHILL SWEET MAGNOLIA – 3yr old blue bitch who I would prefer a more feminine head. Good neck and front make up. Stood on good bone and catlike feet. Firm level topline. Well sprung ribs. Moving soundly.

3rd Noel’s MARISOPA OF MORNING MEADOW

Any Colour Bred by Exhibitor (5,1):

1st Steele’s ZIENNES AZZURA – 2.5yr old blue bitch of nice size & type. Lovely head with correct eye colour and shape providing a melting soft expression. Well-made forehand. Good neck length. Straight forelimbs. Good spring of ribs. Level topline. Well-rounded bottom good turn of stifle. Short hocks. Presented immaculately. Moving with good rear action.

2nd Morris’s RIONDEL SOLITAIRE bitch of correct size, feminine head, would prefer more neck length to balance the picture. Good bone and neat feet. Super well-developed body. Well-made quarters with good muscle tone. Moving out soundly.

1st Cooper’s CHARLAZA CODE RED – Red bitch of nice type. Pretty head and correct eye colouring. Nicley put together front assembly. Stood on well boned legs and neat feet. Good spring of ribs. Level topline. Decent quarters well-muscled. Presented well. Moving soundly with good action.
