Newton Abbot & South Devon Canine Society Open Show 27th January 2024

Thank you to the committee for the invitation and the super hospitality on arrival at the show. Many thanks to the exhibitors for your entries and to my two efficient stewards Gordon and Sue.

Welsh Springer Spaniel

Post Graduate: 6(2) 1st Morgan’s Benoveor Endless Love, very happy 3 year old young lady, balanced head, feminine with good stop, dark kind eye with lovely soft expression. Well boned with nice round tight feet, good lay of shoulder and forechest, enough rear angulation with muscular loin. Balanced in outline and held her shape on the move. Moved happily with drive. Presented in lovely condition, well coated, rich red and white. Well presented. Best of Breed.

2nd Williams Nyliram The Alibi for Trebettyn, 14 month year old young male, full of vim on entering the ring. Masculine balanced head with soft expression, good depth of rib and forechest, correct front and rear angulation, well boned, well-muscled. Longer in loin than first. Powered strongly around the ring with reach and drive, at the in-between stage at present.

3rd Lamport’s Glenbrows Hopefulness

Open Dog: 4(1) A class of veteran males all a credit to their owners

1st Williams Sh Ch Isfryn Spot The Difference Trebettyn, a strong 8 year old, well balanced in outline, good depth of chest and brisket, short in loin, well-muscled with good width to quarters, good rear angulation, well boned. Moved very well around the ring with good reach and drive, sound on the move. Reserve Best of Breed

2nd Blackford’s Amblelight Galatea , 9 years old , preferred his head to first, well boned with good depth of rib, balanced in outline, longer in loin than 1st, moved soundly, not the drive of the first.

3rd Attwood’s Ir Sh Ch Kylowen Drym ShCM ShCEx IR VetCh

Open Bitch: 3. 1st Mcilwaine & Reynolds Benoveor Groovy Kind of Love, Very feminine 3 year old young lady, compact in body with balanced outline and shape which she held on the move. Balanced head, well bodied with good depth of rib, short in loin, lovely rich red & white colour, enough bone, good feet. Well presented.

2nd Attwood’s Kylowen Demelza VW IRVetCh, rising 9 years old soft expression with dark eye, balanced in outline but lost her shape when stacked. Enough front angulation and good rear angulation, well-muscled. Moved soundly.

3rd Lamport’s Glenbrows Hopefulness.

Best Puppy in Breed from the Post Graduate class was Mcilwaine and Reynolds Ferndel Rebecca for Benoveor, 7-month-old baby girl feminine with kind expression, well presented, stood nicely on the stack with good outline, moved steadily.
