Judge Karen Powney

My very sincere apologies for the lateness of these critiques but I have had to have an operation on my arm which has meant I could not type and have no one else to do them for me. Was a lovely day with lots of lovely dogs and I have to give my thanks to the exhibitors who came under me and allowed me to judge these dogs.

Special Yearling (2,0)

1st Clanwillow Fire and Ice (D) Owned by Mrs SB & Mr KR Jones – 8 month old puppy who's litter sister was missing from puppy so he was entered in special yearling, but what a super boy. He still has a lot to come but is all there ready to just get better. Domed head and good ear set, lovely dark eye. Enough neck into well laid shoulders. Good bone throughout and front legs fitting neatly to sides. Long deep body with level back held on move. Well muscled, rear angulation correct and feet good. Stern well set on and strong at base, carried in that lovely curve when on the move. He had a smooth, effortless and powerful gait which made him stand out in very good company all day. I gave him Best Puppy in Breed and Best of Breed and was pleased to see him go onto Puppy Group 1 under Bridgette Bodle and Reserve Best Puppy in Show under David Knights.
