Humberside Hound Association

Junior Handling

some super little handlers with a good sense of their dogs and a great hope for the future I would allow any of these handlers to handle my own dogs. – My apologies if I get any of the names wrong. All handlers were dressed well and showed their dogs off well. Well done to all and keep handling.

1st Leightan-Jem Cooper handling a Whippet

Nice quiet handler who paid attention to her charge all the way round while keeping an eye on where I was and listening to instruction. Won this class by her unhurried actions and rapport with her dog. Handled sympathetically, making sure she showed the dog off to its best advantage. Best Junior Handler

2nd Erin Holgate Handling a whippet

Another good little handler who again paid attention and made sure not to get between me and the dog even with me wandering around the ring. Lost out today just on not maybe having quite the rapport with her dog and a little more rigid. Watching me more than the dog and this made the pair not flow as well as the winners.

1st Sakura Wilson Handling a Rhodesian Ridgeback

Good Handler who may benefit from using a different dog. She showed the dog well but got between me and the dog constantly, which is fine in a breed class but in handling will put handlers down the line. Not sure if she was not able to move round the dog or swap hands easily as this is not the easiest of breeds to handle.
