Thank you to the committee for the kind invitation to judge at your Premier Open show. Lovely refreshments which was most appreciated. I had a lot of absentees but am very grateful of the entries given and was pleased with the dogs I had to go over. Especially thrilled to see my Best of Breed making the first cut in a huge Gundog Group and my Best Puppy go Second in its group. Thanks to my stewards Cathryn and Michelle for keeping the ring running smoothly.

Puppy 4 (1A)

1 Lapper’s Tomative Annabelle – (11.5m B) black, with a lovely shaped head with a kind and attentive expression. Good eye colour and correct ear placement. Enough bone and stood four square on neat feet. In good coat with a good otter shaped tail, moved with drive keeping a level topline. BP, PG2

2 Shirton’s Woolman Wish Upon a Star – (9m B) black, larger in construction to 1 with good bone, nice head with good eye colour and sweet expression. In good coat and moved well, hocks still to strengthen up.

Junior 5 (3A)

1 O’Brien’s Maxfield Penny Lane – (17m B) yellow with good pigmentation and nice eye colour with a feminine expression. Good bone and neat feet, shorter cast than some but overall shape was balanced. Moved out well. RBOB

2 Glaister & Bordacs Bellamar Love Me Do – (14m B) black with nice eye colour and a kind expression. In good coat, had a level topline and stood well once settled. Moved out good and true but tail came up a little high which was one of the considerations of placings.

Two lovely youngsters that could change places on another day.

Post Graduate (8,4A)

1 Davis’ Rochevale Palm Reader JW (18m B) black I’ve judged before as a puppy and still like. Feminine head with good eye colour and nice expression. Good ear set and strong neck leading into a level topline which was kept on the move. Good bone and overall shape is balanced. Good otter tail with excellent coat coverage. BOB.

2 Bellamar Love Me Do – as per Junior class
