FLAT COATED RETRIEVERS – Judge Mrs Karen Bambrook (Ravoakar)

Thank you to the secretary and committee for the kind invitation to judge at the show and to my two stewards for their help in keeping the ring flowing.

Thanks also to the exhibitors who entered, to allow me to assess their precious dogs.

Puppy (3,0A)

1 Holman’s Ronevorg Can I be Famous for Namtresa – (11m B) Stood out for me, giving a perfectly balanced outline. A nicely moulded head with good eye colour and shape. A well angulated front and correct shoulder placement. Good reach of neck and ample forechest, enough bone and stands on rounded tidy feet. Good thigh muscle helping with free and sound movement round the ring. Sadly withdrew before the breed challenge.

2 Stevenson’s Vynesbrook Sapphirea – (6m B) Very much a baby but lots to like. Moulded head, nice reach of neck leading to a level topline. Moved well round the ring with steady free flowing movement. One to watch. Happy to give it BP (sadly didn’t stay for group)

Junior (1,0A)

1 Holman’s Ronevorg Can I be Famous for Namtresa – same as Puppy class.

Post Graduate (3,0A)

1 Wilson’s Hameldowntor Pedro Ximenez – (3.5yr D) Balanced in outline and looking ‘all male’. A good moulded head, clean neck, firm top line and good rear angulation. Ample forechest, good feathering and plenty of thigh muscle. Well let down hocks and tail used well, especially on the move.

2 Stevenson’s Feldkirk Rose N Roses – (3yr B) Very feminine, nice angulations and enough bone. Good feathering especially on tail, moved freely fore and aft. Balanced in outline but would prefer a little more substance.

Open (5,1A)

1 Colson’s Windyhollows Ragged Robin JW – (2.5yr D) Masculine but not overdone. Moulded head with lovely expression, good reach of neck into correct shoulder placement. Level topline kept on the move, well boned and nice neat feet. Well bodied, good thigh muscle and strong hocks. In good coat and condition. BOB showed well in group.

2 Lewin’s Vynesbrook Deja Bleu – (4.5yr B) Well balanced, compact and feminine. Lovely head with correct proportions, clean neck into a level topline kept on the move. Good angulation front and back, enough bone and stands on neat feet. RBOB
