Breed: Gordon Setter

Beckenham Canine Association

Sunday 6th October 2024

I was very sad to learn that this would be Beckenham's last show. Well done committee on putting a show on through difficult circumstances. It was a really lovely day.

Gordon Setters
Class 1: Puppy (1)
1st Horler, Sandiford & Sandiford - Hernwood Bleu Spirit
Young raw dog puppy, lovely outline to this young man, and held his own in his movement. Correct head, with low set ears, long neck flows into a well placed shoulder. Moderate length of body. Still loads of maturing to do, but a lovely bold attitude. BP.

Class 3: Post Grad (3/1)
Two different styles in this class. Both lovely just preferred the drive of winner.
1st Horler - Colourbox Wild Wild West with Rackens
Male dog, deep broader head. No mistaking he is a male. Clear stop. Correct dark brown eyes, low set ears, long neck into well placed shoulders. Elbows well let down and close to the body, moderate body length. Deep brisket, well sprung ribs. Strong hindquarters, steady on the move with good drive which clinched him the BOB today.

2nd O'Kelly & Hancock - Caradilsis Sparks Will Fly JW
Lovely bitch, feminine in her characterists. Correct head with a clearly defined stop, correct pigment, ears set low and medium in size, Long neck into good point of shoulder. Didn't have the depth of chest of 1, or the closeness of elbow. Lovely hindquarters, muscular and strong. Just lost her topline a little on the move.

Class 4: Open (2/1)
1st Upton-Lovett & Upton - Roydack Portrait of a Lady
Lovely maturer lady. feminine throughout. Correct head, dark brown eyes, medium ears that were set low. Long neck into good point of shoulder. Nice return of upper-arm and correct straight front. Moderate body length with good spring of rib. Muscular throughout, would just like a touch more return of second thigh. Moved well just not the drive of BOB today. RBOB.
