North Of England Hunt Point Retrieve Club

Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge these breeds at this well run show, held in partnership with North Riding Gundog at this beautiful venue. Such welcoming committees working together made for a fantastic day, regardless of the absolute soaking in the very brief downpour. Thanks to my able steward for her valiant attempts to keep paperwork dry and keeping the ring ticking over. Thank you to the exhibitors and their dogs who bravely endured the drenching and kept smiling and showing their socks off.

Brittany Post Graduate

1st G, M & J Nicholls Minama Unforgettable at Stonesview. RBOB. Handsome young lad of 14 months, full of beans and making a hard job for his able handler who kept him moving until he settled. Correct slightly rounded skull, median line and occiput, good eye placement and colour, correct ears. Medium neck flows cleanly into well placed shoulders, correct return of upper arm. Correct proportions of leg to body depth, depth to chest, ribs extend back, short loin, correct topline. Moderate rear angulation, moved well once settled.

1st G, M & J Nicholls Bonapartist Trooper of Stonesview. BOB. More mature and more settled, this lad powered round the ring and presented a balanced profile when stacked. Correct in head, eye and ear, good moderately long powerful neck into moderately angled shoulders which were fairly wide. Correct straight forelegs, good bone and neat feet. Deep through chest, correct spring and shape to ribs, short back, slightly sloping topline to croup. Powerful rear end with well muscled thighs. Moved out with correct short stride and topline.

Large Munsterlander Junior

1st E Uherkovichova Ullys Du Pic des Berlanches avec Exelby (Imp FRA) This young lad is settling into his frame, still some development in body to come as would be expected at just 14 months. Correct in head, good neck into shoulders, correct bone and feet. Brisket to elbow, spring of rib developing. Short back, moderate tuck, good set on of tail, muscular thighs, short hocks, moved well with drive.

Post Graduate

1st C Weber Dita Z Miketova Dvora BOB. This is a lovely young lady, presented the most balanced profile in the challenge and was presented and handled to advantage. Feminine proportionate head, good eye and ear. Clean neck with slight arch into well placed shoulders. Good legs, bone and neat feet. Wide chest with good depth, sprung ribs extending back to slight tuck, short coupled. Good hind angulation which with well muscled thighs and short hocks allowed her to drive out with style.

1st C Weber Caesar II V Svaroborsky Revir. RBOB. Mature lad, good through head although a fraction heavy in flew to be absolutely balanced, correct neck with arch, good shoulder placement, depth and spring to chest, slight tuck, well held topline. Well muscled rear with adequate bend of stifle and short hocks. Good bone. Moved OK although a little high stepping in the rear today.
