My thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge at their open show held the day before the start of the championship show, on what has to be one of the loveliest showgrounds on the circuit, well tended and laid out affording large rings and tents for exhibitors.

My thanks to my excellent steward who helped run the ring smoothly and thoughtfully on the day.

My thanks also to the breed judges today, who sent through some excellent breed examples to the group, making my job both enjoyable and very challenging!

8 month red smooth coat, correct head with good skull and short

2 year old red female, rough coated, small and cobby, level topline

With high set tail, well angled in the front and rear with well sprung

Ribs, correct head with good skull, short muzzle with good turn up

And neat lips. In excellent coat and condition. BOB.

2nd - Adreeam Secret Affair (Mr R & Mrs J Potts)

3 year old red male, rough coated, attractive head with high set ears

Medium neck, leading into a well constructed body, slightly longer

On the leg than 1 so overall outline not so appealing, in good coat.

Appealed to me here for his overall size and shape with correct bone, good head type

Good proportions and correct eye, good reach to neck and level back, in excellent coat

Another promising puppy, this time an 11 month female, smaller and built on finer line

Attractive head with large round eyes, well balanced body with good ribcage and well

Attractive 11 month hairless male, up to size but well balanced in

outline, typy had with well tapered muzzle, and dark pigmentation,

good neck leading into a level back, well angled in the front and rear,

moved and showed well.

1st - Ch Witchstone Minnehaha, Breed: English Toy Terrier (Black and Tan) (Mrs H & Mr J Haffenden & Wood) – beautiful 7 year old female, in lovely condition and not showing her age, attractive wedge shaped head with high set candle flamed ears, dark eyes with bright tan points, long neck, leading into a well proportioned body, correct topline and tailset, moved out well with extended trot, BVIG and BVIS

2nd - Ch Doonbeg Reach for The Sky Tteswood JW ShCM, Breed: Chinese Crested (Ms D P Dowsett) – 10 year old powder puff, who is in excellent coat and condition, not looking her age at all, attractive head with tapered muzzle, dark eyes with dark pigment, well balanced body with level topline and well angled front and rear, moved out well, in excellent coat.
