Wiveliscombe & District Canine Society
My thanks to this very progressive Society for their kind invitation, you very rarely come across a Club that has commitment stamped right the way through it, but this is one of them. A truly great team who all work so well together and this was reflected in the outstanding entry they received, a record I believe so very well done all of you.
BIS was a joy to judge and eventually was won by the winner of the previous day’s Utility Group, Nash’s Miniature Poodle Antiquarius Clio JW who was so well balanced with the perfect elegance & definition of head, coal black almond eyes which sparkled & overall great style, so firm & sound throughout, shown in terrific bloom she moved effortlessly around the ring with lightness, freedom & style.
Res.BIS was the winner of the Hound Group the aristocratic red/white Borzoi, Ch Ryazan Viceroy of Radost at Menigma ShCEx, moving so effortlessly in this large ring he was an absolute picture.
Best Puppy in Show, Stephens Chalksville Made of Magic for Brightmeadow (German Shepherd Dog) who displayed power, balance of structure & tirelessly sound movement, impressive exhibit and should do well.
ResBPIS was the Whippet, Howgate & Hull’s Palmik Turn It On Again, classy & elegant pale blue brindle whose grace of outline & accurate free movement secured this win.
Best Veteran Loakes ShCh Goldbirch Wings of Desire JW ShCM ShCEx (English Setter) very elegant throughout & of medium size & at 8 years old looking balanced with such soundness & freedom of movement, driving well off her hocks, beautiful exhibit.

AV Imported Breed Register
Open (2)
1. Gunn’s Stonemartin Ailbe with Katanga (IKC) this Azawakh appealed for her lean & chiselled head, quite exotic & slender in appearance, stood well on her front from slightly slanted shoulder placement, decent in-fill, correct depth to her chest, underline curved upwards with good tuck-up, moderately angled, tended to hunch her rear at times but moved well enough to take this class. Best AV Imported BR
2. Dale & Saxton’s Oak Hill’s Lady Liberty (imp USA), Black & Tan Coonhound, good outline & displayed many of the Breed’s attributes well. Oval skull, good muzzle & obviously feminine, good strong jaw, hazel eyes & ears low set & of good size, nicely laid shoulder, depth of chest good, angled rear with stifles well bent. On the move topline was maintained however the action wasn’t quite right & she tended to crab both on the up/down and in her stride. I think this could be harnessed by more practice with her moving as she seems to be more over enthusiastic than anything too far wrong with her which unfortunately throws her line of stride.
Basset Hound
Open (3) 1 abs
1. Turner’s Devonhound Who’s That Girl JW very attractive tan/white she is well balanced throughout & carries super bone without losing any femininity, domed head with good muzzle & flews, good pigment & low set long ears, scissor bite, neck, front & forequarters very good and well placed, padded feet good, nice width & depth of chest, rounded ribcage, strong loin, sabre tail carried well when moving, sound mover. BOB
2. Wilding & Nixon’s Nelgus Crunchy Nut at Brackenacre, lovely tricolour, with elegance of head & good low set ears, nicely laid shoulder, short forelegs & padded feet, felt she was slightly higher on the rear than she needed to be & this was evident when she moved, needed to be more positive & freer from the rear.
Beagle
Open (4) lovely class
1. Breeze’s Parkbreeway Wyseman JW red/white appealed greatly for strength, soundness & style. Handled very well to get the best from him, sturdy & compact, no coarseness, well defined head & good expression, long rounded ears, lovely neckline to well-placed shoulder, good strong front, neat tight feet, perfect chest, nicely angled quarters used so well on the move, lovely exhibit. BOB & HG3
2. Bidey’s Redcap The Courier JW, lovely tricolour, appealed for his sturdiness, balanced shape & good construction, level topline & chest well down, nice muscular condition, moving with stride & reach, unlucky to meet 1 in top form.
3. Roberts & Spearing’s Linklees Lyric ShCM ShCEx
Borzoi
Open (3)1 abs
1. Pinkerton, Cattoni-Sarman & Allenby’s Ch Ryazan Viceroy of Radost at Menigma ShCEx handsome red/white male of good size, displaying power and elegance. Has matured so well, shown in wonderful muscle tone & bloom he used his construction to great advantage here moving soundly with long low raking strides & good width behind from driving hocks. Has so many of the Breed’s desired characteristics & looked quite magnificent. BOB, HG1 and Res.BIS
2. Logvinenko’s Ryazan Vladimir litter brother to 1 & of slightly smaller stature, elegant head of good length, strong slightly arched neck & nicely laid shoulder, front held underneath well, slightly looser on the pastern, had good depth & nice, graceful curve over loin, stifles well angled, hocks were strong, low set tail, moved soundly but lacked the power & longer reach of 1.
Dachshund (Miniature Long-Haired)
Open (3) 1 abs
1. Small’s Kenzduo Monday Mojito at Devondax, delightful light red of good size, feminine conical head, good eye & expression, dentition good, forechest prominent, straight well-placed front, neat feet & nails, moderate length of body good ribcage extending well back, angled hindquarters, very pretty exhibit who just had the edge in this tightly contested class. BOB
2. Cox’s Cheritondax Chardonnay JW, most attractive pale red of similar size, very attractive with good head & length of muzzle, jaw strong, good forechest, front held well, level topline, rounded rump & nicely angled, good furnishings & was unlucky not to win today with hardly a hair’s breadth between these two.
Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired)
Was conscious that some were well up to size for this miniature breed.
Junior (7) 2 abs
1. Small’s From Redteckel Story Maxin for Devondax red proportionally of good size, sweetest of heads, well filled front, nice rib & very firm topline, well angled, moving confidently with good clearance. BOB & BP, HPG4
2. Kilroy’s Janacop Magic May pretty black/tan, lean & feminine through her head, slightly fuller eye, good neck & nicely placed shoulder, ribcage good, preferred underline of 1, reasonable angle to quarters, moving soundly.
Graduate (8) 3 abs
1. Woods Kelcardi Planet Mars red shown in lovely condition, feminine with good expression reachy neck of strength, sound front, good ribcage, good topline and underline, nice for size & has good potential, bit of a fidget but redeemed herself on the move with an even positive action.
2. Small’s Daxiemoors Hot Shot for Devondax, red male, quite lean in head & ears a bit low set to be ideal, had prominence of forechest & good body, needs to be more in control of his legs on the move, slightly higher on the hock and needs to stand true.
Open (6) 3 abs
1. Rose’s Pennydax Mystique at Rosencrantz black/tan nice for size & balance, lean head of equal length from skull to foreface, straight front & good width, ribcage well back, topline okay but would prefer a more evenly blended underline, nicely angled on the rear quarters, handled well & moved well enough.
2. Woods Bronia Palladio, strong personality which sort of overdid his assets here, liked him for shoulder, front, pro-sternum topline & underline, needs to be a bit stronger on his quarters but this could be due to a resulting factor of his exuberance.
3. Ratsey-Woodroffe & Rippon’s Mulberryible Lovely Annie for Prezoisa.
Dachshund (Miniature Wire-Haired)
Open (5) 2 abs
1. Rose’s Barratini Song and Dance with Rosencrantz, red bitch with a delightful character & of good size with lovely balance to her head, good eye, scissor bite, good shoulder placement & return, forelegs strong, level topline & underline good, rounded rump & angled quarters, moved well. BOB HPG3
2. Kilroy’s Blackvein Rambler at Janacop JW boar coloured pretty girl slightly stronger in head, fair length of neck, forechest good, prefer more ribbing going back, level topline, reasonably well angled & handled to advantage.
3. Umfreville’s Dogrose Bee of Sound Mind
Dachshund (Long-Haired)
Open (4) 2 abs
1. Rees Sundayshill Blackberry black/tan well-coated male, conical lean head, good eye & colour, strong neck, overall good shape, straight front, good body & ribbing, level topline, strong loin, rounded rump with good angulation, tail held nicely, moved with enthusiasm & drive. BOB
2. Ashby’s Shikoku Morioka Blossom at Jaxinorydax, red with lean head, strong neck, shoulder a bit upright and would prefer tighter feet, level topline, body condition & good ribbing, angled rear quarters, going around movement at times was laboured on front, moved with personality plus but not as accurately as 1.
Dachshund (Smooth-Haired)
Junior (3)
Nice class of three all at different stages.
1. Stark’s Gobannium Made of Honour, red with lovely feminine but strong conical head, lovely neck into well laid shoulder, front & rear angles good, pro-sternum good, ribbing well back, well angled rear, lovely condition, moving well with purpose & drive.

2. Ratsey-Woodroffe & Rippon’s From Eversden Dachsheart of Gold for Presoiza (imp BGR) red built on strong lines with lovely conical head of balance, good topline & ribbing but overweight, angled fore & aft, when settled had a decent outline, moved well enough.
3. Rycroft’s Carpaccio Queen Consult for Trisensara
Open (3)
1. Stark’s Adnerbs One Vision of Gobannium JW OSW, nice type red who has passed her qualities to her offspring well. Lovely strong firm outline, feminine with strong neck, good shoulder placement, strong front, good forechest, level topline & good ribbing, rounded rump with super quarters, showing a bit of maternal slack in underline but moved with reach, positivity & soundness.
2. Rycroft’s Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah at Trisensara JW black/tan, nice outline on this one, pleasing lean head, good strong neck & good shoulder placement, forechest good, level topline, ribbing well back to strong loin, angled quarters, was a positive mover.
3. From Eversden Dachsheart of Gold for Presoiza (imp BGR)
Dachshund (Wire-Haired)
Open (5) 3 abs
Tricky class as same owner with both exhibits looking for each other!
1. Wills Kasalane Ostiriato Sea pale red with a lovely clean outline when settled, good head & eye with furnishings to enhance, good topline, well angled, would like more forechest, movement a bit erratic as the pair of them spent the entire time looking for each other. BOB
2. Wills Cicelane Magnus at Kasalane, boar in colour and sire of 1 but not that much alike, this one much more compact, shorter in muzzle, had a good topline but would prefer ribbing to go back further, reasonable angles, but again difficult to assess any movement properly.
Hamiltonstovare
Open (4) 1 abs
1. Adey’s Abon Sfora Nordowskiej Kneji at Rubeusbay (imp POL) maturing well tri coloured male of substance & well proportioned; has a handsome longish head, good strong muzzle without coarseness, good ear set, proportionally balanced, has good strong bone, shoulders well laid back, front good, nice depth & ribs sprung well, reasonable angle to quarters, low set tail, nice free striding gait in profile. BOB & HG4.
2. Adey’s The Huntress from Sufayre very rich in colour & a slightly more compact shape, stronger through her muzzle, has a lovely strong neck, good shoulder placement & front, straight backline, ribs well sprung, muscular quarters, could put a lot more into her movement, couldn’t match the gait of 1.
3. Merchant’s Caldeacre the Dynamite
Ibizan Hound
Open Dog (2) 1 abs
1. Carter’s Nevaeh’s Radical Dude (imp USA). This white/chestnut does appeal for type, lean head which is attractive & masculine yet exotic, could make more of his ears as he tends to drop them, reachy through his neck, good length of shoulder blade, good ribcage & loin, good length to quarters, has good reach on the go around, but doesn’t use his quarters well unfortunately.
Open Bitch (4) 1 abs
1. Carter’s Ch Afilador Room On the Broom ShCM VW white/chestnut excels for head, ear set, neck, correct depth, front & body good, nails a bit long, uses her assets well moving, maybe a bit slower might benefit the required uniqueness of movement, can see why she holds her title. BOB
2. Carter’s Amahte’s Bewitched VW (imp CAN) at 10 years old what a star she is, holds herself very well & has a classic head, well bodied & moved in unison with her handler.
3. Nicholls Sunset Breeze (imp ESP)
Whippet
Super entry here
Puppy (7) 1 abs

Carries a lovely elegant head with good definition, good oval eye, scissor bite, rose ears, reachy arched neck to lovely shoulder placement, good front to pastern, feet tight & neat, super depth & fill in, gentle rise over muscled loin, well angled, strong first & second thigh; lovely balance in profile then when he began to move it was precise with daisy cutting action & good propulsion, fine coat, perfectly presented & must have a bright future. 3. Pedley-Biggins Doddridge Dazzle Um with Viscar
Junior (3) 1 abs
1. Barnes Doddridge Strictly Cha Cha beautiful & most elegant brindle, so classy & feminine but has the required strength all through, there is nothing not to like in her construction, she has no exaggerations & presents that super Whippet shape of a curvy outline, shown in prime condition she moved around effortlessly with free action & always holding her topline well. BOB & HG2
2. Rees Kierpark Love Me Do delightful young brindle/white puppy of just 6 months, loved her head & eye, lovely dark pigment, good neck & overall outline very curvy, clean shoulder-line, lovely front & rear angles, moving out well in this class and is an obvious prospect for the future.
Graduate (4) 2 abs
1. Sharp’s Barnesmore Spanish Inquisition, brindle male, head was lovely, slight stop tapering slightly to muzzle, good scissor bite, nice pigment, strong neck, would prefer slightly more layback & return to upper arm, had good pasterns & feet, good fill in & depth of brisket, strong over loin, angled hindquarters without exaggeration, muscled well without being too much, moved out well with good propulsion & easy reach.
2. Willey & Hofstetter’s Hedgehill Just Hugo smaller & finer brindle/white trim, he had an elegant head with good pigment, rose ears, not the firmness of front of 1 nor the depth, good over his loin to well angled quarters, moved well enough but just flattened his topline.
Limit (7) 1 abs
1. Livsey’s Palmik Ace of Spades, dark brindle/white trim, elegance of head, dark oval eye, good rose ears, length of neck to well-placed shoulder, slight return, neat feet, good depth of brisket, prefer more tuck up, nice ribcage, balanced shape, good strong quarters, came into his own moving well with good forehand daisy cutting forehand movement & good rear propulsion.
2. Barnes Doddridge Silver Jigilo brindle/white, refined lean head & lovely dark eye, rose ears, good front & ribbing, gentle arch over loin, of more compact appearance to 1 standing over slightly less ground. 3. Hedgehill Just Hugo
Open Dog (3) 1 abs
Nice class
1. Livsey’s Bryntreia Sea of Love very elegant brindle/white, good lean head, scissor bite, very typical in appearance, strong long neck to good shoulder placement, filled in well, straight front & springy pastern, neat feet & nails, lovely depth & spring of rib just right, strong loin slightly arched & falling away to good, angled quarters, nicely muscled & this showed in his movement pushing those forelegs forward well here & powering off from the rear.
2. Barnes Doddridge Secret Passion, attractive brindle/white & very similar in appearance to the 2nd in the previous class, had the loveliest head, lean & elegant with good pigment, expression super from dark oval eyes, good curvy shape & constructed very well, moved soundly around the ring, another nice exhibit from this kennel.

I see she has the same Dam as the previous two class winners. Res.BOB
2. Leathart’s Rigmore Hecate fawn of substance & again very elegant, would prefer slightly darker eye, slightly broader in skull, good reachy neck, nicely placed shoulder & forelegs, fraction shorter in rib, good depth & cut up defining her curves, nicely muscled, angled hindquarters used well on the move.
AVNSC Hound
Graduate (2) 1 abs
1. Carter’s Aabidah De Polvo Magico (imp AUT) exotic looking pale fawn Sloughi with gorgeous dark pigment outlining her dark eyes, her ears carried close & set well, scissor bite, lovely length of neck to well-placed shoulder, clean bone, well ribbed with definite tuck up, slight rise on muscled loin, complementing angulation, arched toes. Tended to move widely behind which spoilt her gait, would like to see her moving outside.
