My thanks to the Club for the opportunity to judge these classes, especially this being the 70th Platinum Anniversary Ch. Show. Congratulations to the Committee and their team for finding such a lovely venue and for putting on such a friendly, efficient and enjoyable event for everyone.

Basenji Special Award Classes

Special Award Puppy (2)

1. Knights & Stokes Lelaps River Song red/white quite mature finish to this youngster of just over 6 months, had a good balance about her always alert, good earset, nice tapered head, good almond eye & expression, very strong jaw good teeth, lovely crest to neck set on well, clean shoulders, lovely straight firm front, good feet, level back & good depth, strong short loin, strong hindquarters well let down, good length to second thigh, high set tail with desired curl, posterior showing good shelf. On the move this one displayed a very even swinging stride and was effortless.

2. Knowles Sarawana Dragons Conquest appealing & attractive red/white very feminine of slightly lighter frame & loved her overall shape, alert & good expressive eye, earset just right with slightly hooded look in profile, good strong jaw & super crested neck with desired curve, clean shoulder, good depth & defined waistline, nicely conditioned & good hindquarters well let down; today on the move she wasn’t quite as settled as 1 but she is a cracking youngster.

1. Dunsdon’s Mawali New York New York very smart red/white bitch headed this nice class, desirable leggy appearance and a super balance to her all through, head had just the right width & strength, good earset again, desired hooded appearance in profile, good eye & expression, scissor bite, decent neck & clean shoulder, straight front & just the right amount of width, oval ribcage with good depth, short coupled & defined waist, high tail set curled well, good shelf to posterior, well defined quarters, good feet, good muscle tone. On the move she was easy with good swing to her stride without effort.

2. Clinton’s Akmar Napatan Gold for Westlawn, how gorgeous was this tri colour, the expression was amazing, her eyes exactly right. Loved her head shape, so feminine & typical, great earset, slight stop, strong jaw, strong crested neck to clean shoulder, lovely front, good feet, good depth defined waist & good quarters, tailset with good curl & typical posterior. On the move she took off with style with good gait, sleek coat, presented well. Such a close decision between these.

Amazing quality class, thanks to everyone for bringing their lovely dogs. A really tough one to judge with very little between them.

1. Nash’s Ch Tokaji Moon Over Miami With Mutoko Jw ShCEx OSW, top quality exhibit, leggy tri colour, white collar with all the key essentials of the breed, feminine throughout displaying a breathtaking outline accentuated by her colouring in all the right places. On the move her stride was long, swift & even in every direction, a class act.

2. Williams & Wright’s Ch Mawali Going Four Gold, red/white male of super balance, you could see he was aristocratic, no coarseness to him at all displaying very well the main desirable features of this breed with a most lovely neck & well laid shoulder, good front & rear, level back, excellent depth & good waist, had good power to his movement with nice swift stride, easy mover just very slightly pipping the 3rd placed.
