Boston DCS Open Show

Firstly, a thank you to the society for inviting me to judge at this lovely show, my exhibitors for quality entry and my excellent steward who kept the ring running smoothly throughout.

Chow Chow

Puppy – 3

1. Irwing’s Beaconpride Trick Or Treat. Shaded red male who appealed for size and shape. Presents an upstanding and square outline. Good head with broad, flat skull. Correct clean eye and well-placed thick ears. Good bite and pigment. Well laid shoulder and good strong front assembly. Good depth to chest, short in back with well set and carried tail. Correct rear angulation with well let down, strong hocks. Moved well with typical gait. BPIB & PG1 Delighted to see him go BPIS later in the day.

2. Fisher’s Poppykins Golden Nugget. Shaded red of good type with pleasing head and expression. Good eyes, well set ears and good bite and pigment. Excellent shoulders with good width and depth to chest. Straight well-boned legs that gave excellent movement coming to. Short in back and coupling with correctly angulated rear. Well set and held tail. Moved well. Close up to 1 and with more confidence on the ramp will be one to watch.

1. Irwing’s Tanlap Timeless Touch At Beaconpride JW

Shaded red with the most beautiful feminine headpiece and expression who presents a square outline. Correct eye, good thick ears. Bite and pigment correct. Well laid shoulder on to nice straight upstanding legs and tight feet. Solid topline and short coupling, correctly angulated rear with strong well let down hocks. Changing coats at the moment but that doesn’t detract from the many attributes this girl possesses. Moved well to RBOB.

1. Fishers’ Shulian San Angelo Star At Poppykins JW. Shaded red male who is maturing beautifully. Presents a square upstanding outline. Good head with width to skull, well-set thick ears, excellent clean eye and correct bite and pigment. Enough neck into well laid shoulder, good front assembly. Straight back, short coupling and well set and carried tail. Moved steadily showing excellent side gait. Shown in excellent coat and condition. BOB G3

AVNSC Puppy – 4 (2)

1. Nash’s Smoochabull The Seige. Bulldog. White and brindle of good size and balance. Great head properties with no excess, lovely broad scull, correct well held rose ears, good open nostrils and correct bite and desired upturn. Good lay of shoulder and width to chest. Good bone throughout. Desired pear shaped body that’s developing well for age, correct topline and tail. Moved well with typical movement. BAVNSC, BAVNSP & PG2

2. Moss’s Afterglow Kaptain Krunch. Toy Poodle. Another nice youngster who looked balanced in profile. Good well chiselled head with correct eye and good bite. Good length to neck onto well laid shoulder and straight legs. Body developing well with good topline and tail set and good angles all through. A little unsettled today but did enough to secure RBAVNSC.

1. Rose’s Dianakees Inspector Morse at Esorkees. Keeshond. Two-year-old shown in excellent coat who presents a short and compact outline. Pleasing head properties with good eye and correct mouth. Enough width and depth to chest, nice shoulder, correct topline and tail set. Giving his handler a hard time today making movement difficult to assess.

Special Yearling - 1

1. Spry, Balode & Emerson’s Tamoanchan Xareni Bel/Lux JCh. Xoloitzcuintle. Presented a lovely outline. Good head properties with correct ear and placement. Good eyes, pigment and bite. Moderate shoulder, tight elbows and straight front. Good firm back, rounded croup on to tail of good length. Good muscle tone and lovely skin. Moved well becoming more confident each time she moved.

Open – 2

1. Spry’s Bel/Lux Ch Roltamshe Skye. Xoloitzcuintle. Another that presented the correct outline. Good shaped head with correct ear. Good bite and pigment. For perfection would prefer a darker eye but that didn’t’ detract from the overall quality of this girl. Good shoulders on to straight front legs with tight elbows. Good body proportions with desired topline and rounded croup. Good tail of correct length. Skin in lovely condition. Moved well to take BAVI.

2. Balode & Emerson’s Tamoanchan Yaamil. Another quality exhibit who I have admired ringside. Beautiful head with correct bite, eye and pigment. Long slightly arched neck into good shoulders and front assembly. Correct angles all though shown in excellent condition. Unfortunately, not settled today.

Utility Group

I don’t think I’ve seen such a strong utility group in a long while and I was spoilt for choice. In the end it came down to performance on the day and I was delighted to see my top winner go on to BIS.

G1 Timms & Henderson’s Budbulls Maximum Impact For Olijah JW (Imp SRB). French Bulldog. This girl caught my eye as she came into the ring and kept drawing me back. In profile she presents a compact yet solid appearance. Beautiful correct head piece with dark round eye, good ear and nice nostrils. Correct bite and pigment. Arched neck onto good shoulders. Correct topline and tail set. Moved typically and did not put a foot wrong all day.

G2 Gillman’s Bellellen Magic Mike With Mytilene JW. Lhasa Apso. Presented a balanced outline and shown in excellent coat and condition. Good head with the best of eyes. Pleasing front assembly with good straight legs, well ribbed with level topline and well set and carried tail. Moved out well in all directions.

G3 Fishers’ Shilian San Angelo Star At Poppykins JW. Chow Chow.

G4 Chesell’s Araki Areu The Queen of Bees For Stylaxian JW. Tibetan Terrier.

A promising field of youngsters. Again delighted to see my PG1 go BPIS.

1. Clare’s Benoleo Brasilla VW. Chow Chow – smooth. Shaded red who belies her 9 years and who could not be denied today. Beautiful head and expression, good thick, well set ears of nice size. Good correct, clean eye. Excellent bite and the best of pigments. Good neck onto well laid shoulder. Straight well boned legs and neat feet. Good depth and width to chest, well ribbed and short coupled. Correct topline and tail set. Moderately angulated rear with well let down, strong hocks. Moved well with breed typical gait throughout. Delighted to see her go RBVIS.

2. Ch Image Catcher of Zoist. Boston Terrier. Seven-year-old with a quality headpiece of correct proportions. Good eye and well set ears. Correct bite. Presented a typical outline with good neck, topline and tail set. Shown in excellent condition. Good positive mover.

3. Brown’s Ch Rossvale Hidden Destiny. Keeshond.

4. Armstrong’s Lynces Love Of My Life At Tizzycharm. Tibetan Terrier.

AV Puppy – 6 (4)

1. Maxwell & Chalmers’ Aintshe Sunflower. Lhasa Apso. Delightful pup with lots to like. Good head properties, correct eye, mouth and pigment. Nice front with straight legs. Developing well for age and already showing breed typical movement and attitude.

2. Sampson’s Dalstorm Just Waltzing. Dalmatian. Nine-month-old liver with lots of promise. Good head and eye. Nice front assembly, correct body proportions and good turn of stifle. Moved well in all directions but not quite the showiness of 1 today.

AV Special Yearling – 3 (2)

1. Chesterfield’s Ithera Dulce De Leche Into Burnsett. Lhasa Apso. Another promising youngster who is developing well for age. Good head with lovely eye, bite and pigment. Nice front assembly. Shown in good coat and condition. Moved well.

1. Chesterfield’s Phareal Heartbreaker Into Burnsett. Lhasa Apso. Another of good type. Well balalnced and well made all through. Pleasing head properties with good bite. Well laid shoulder with nice straight front. Level topline and good high set tail. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Moved well.
