Thank you to the officers of this club and my efficient stewards for making me welcome at this well run and friendly show. Special thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and sporting attitude on the day.
AV Hound V (7)
1. Mitchel & Wright’s Huntshill Tornado JW, SHCM- quality 8yr old tri Beagle. Lovely well balanced masculine head, typical expression, nicely set long ears. Strong long neck set into correctly laid forehand. Well made body, spring of rib and level topline, with strong well turned hindquarters. Correctly set and carried tail. Moved soundly with reach and drive. Best Veteran Hound
2. Carter’s Ch Afildor Room on the Broom SHCM SHCEX VW- Red and white Ibizan hound. lovely 9yr old girl of a balanced and fine build. Feminine head with erect ears. Typical expression. Long neck in ratio with her length of topline. Generally well made and displaying steady springy action.
3. Bidey’s Raimex Rio VW- Beagle

G (3.2) 1. Kilroy’s Rozelle Rosalie at Janacop Appealing well-presented 14mth lovely Red bitch with a good harsh coat. Quality head and eye with excellent pigmentation, excellent forehand and a good topline. Nicely balanced throughout and moved true in all directions. Very promising. Best of Breed.
Open (3.1) 1. Kilroy’s Do Smarties at Janacop W/B with typical head and expression. Correctly laid forehand with desired keel and good carry back of ribbing with a level topline. Strong hindquarters well angulated. Excellent feet. Moved well. 2. Kilroy’s Blackvein Rambler at Janacop JW Super well-presented W/B possessing a balanced head with lovely expression. correctly constructed fore and aft. Fairly good on the move just not as precise as above.
Dachshund MSH
O (2) 1.Small’s Glynlythes Heirloom for Devondax Beautifully balanced red bitch of excellent type with a lovely head and expression. correct topline and ribs carried well back. Good depth of keel and strong topline and well-developed hindquarters. She moved well to win Best of Breed 2. Small’s Stargang Morrissey for Devondax- Eyecatching black and tan with lovely head and eye. Good forehand and depth of chest with well made quarters. Lost out to above on topline. Moved soundly.

G (2) 1. Rycroft’s Chidax Sahara Sand By Trisensara JW Beautiful young red bitch. Feminine head and expression. Correct reach of neck set smoothly into well laid forehand. Well-constructed midpiece and ideally angulated hindquarters. Her lovely movement reflected her correct construction and good condition.
2. Ashby’s Rayol Pumpkin Pie Eye-catching red with good head and eye. Long neck into good forehand. Ideal depth of keel and well carried back ribbing. Smooth topline and used her quarters to drive off well.
O (3.1) 1. Rycroft’s Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah at Trisensara JW A masculine black and tan chap who exudes quality. Super head and eye, Long, arched neck flowing neatly into well laid forehand. Correct keel, good topline, well angulated behind. Sound as a bell in all directions, moving with panache showing off his balanced reach and drive. Well presented in glossy coat and super body condition. Best of Breed, Best Hound and delighted to see him go Reserve Best in Show
2.Ashby’s Raajput’s Canadian Winter with Wakywilks Another lovely black & tan exhibit presented in tip top condition. Good head and eye, unlucky to meet the winner but nevertheless a super dog with excellent movement and breed type.
Whippet SY (9.1) 1.Pedley-Biggins Doddridge Dazzle um with Viscar Blue brindle parti-colour well-balanced bitch, Attractive typical head, with correct eye shape and ear set. Gentle expression. Good forehand, depth and cut up, Correct rise over loin leading to well set and carried tail. Moved well. RBOB 2. Howgate & Hull’s Palmik Never Too Late Well-presented longer cast fawn puppy boy with beautiful head, pigmentation and eye. Lovely long arched neck. Good forehand angles but would like to see him refine a tad over the shoulders and would prefer less length to second thigh. Moved well BEST PUPPY In Breed 3. Livsey Saintharp Love to Believe
G (3.1)Pedley-Biggins Doddridge Dazzle um with Viscar (repeat) 2.Pedley-Biggins Viscar Dances with Lerryn Shapely fawn brindle with white tips female. Good head & eye, long neck leading to well laid forehand. Deep brisket, good cutup and correct hindquarters Moved true in front but close behind.
PG (3.2) 1. Durante’s Galemira’s Pandora of Duranridge Pretty red brindle bitch with white trim. Beautiful head and eye. Would prefer more length and return of upper arm. Overall good curvaceous shape. Moved fairly well.
O (3.1) 1. Livsey’s Bryntreia Sea of Love Shapely boy with a lovely masculine head, correct eye and typical expression, long neck flows smoothly in well laid forehand, correct bladed bone. Deep brisket neat tuck up and rise over loin. Would prefer a little less rear angulation to give overall balance but he moves straight and true with lovely light balanced action. Well presented Best of Breed 2. White’s Iscaglades Goldilocks Attractive fawn with white tips bitch, would prefer a finer back skull. Dark eyes and correct ears. Generally well put together with good forehand, nicely filled in front and good depth of brisket, lovely tuck up and curve to topline with tail set on nice and low, lovely strong hindquarters. Moved reasonably well.
IBIZAN HOUND
O D (2.1) 1. Carters L-Wynd’s Where The Shadow Ends Imp USA- Eye-catching puppy, tall and elegant with masculine head, almond shaped eyes & large erect ears. His very long neck tends to throw the overall picture out of balance. Good forehand, level back & well-developed body for a puppy. Typical light suspended action when viewed from the side but would prefer more width and less length of second thigh with more strength in that area as has a tendency to stand rather cow hocked which also affects his movement.

2.Carters Amahte’s Bewitched (imp Can) VW 11yr old girl attractive head and expression. with lovely erect ears. long, strong neck flows into well laid shoulders. Nicely filled in front. Good topline. Moderate hindquarters. Moved quite well for an old lady.
BEAGLE
O (5.1) 1. Mitchell & Wright’s Parkebreeway Parsnip At Huntshill Red and white top quality 10mth old bitch of lovely type. Generally well-constructed with a pleasing, typical balanced head, long arched neck which flowed smoothly into well laid forehand, deep brisket and good ribbing. Strong topline and good tail set and carriage. strong nicely turned hindquarters. Out moved the others in this class and in the puppy group moving with balance, precision, reach and drive BoB/ BPIB Pleased to award her Hound Group 2 and Hound Puppy Group 1. 2. Scarlett’s Vanitonia Enchanted Over Michelroy JW Tri bitch. Quality youngster unlucky to meet winner. Beautiful head and expression. She appealed for her general construction with good bone and feet plus good breed type and sound movement. 3. Bidey’s Redcap The Courier JW
Afghan Hound
O (2) 1. Godber-Ford’s Affyneeta Desert Wind Beautifully presented quality black masked gold male in great coat. Balanced head and almond eye with typical exotic expression. Long ear leathers. Long neck. Good forehand and body. Correct tuck up. Could perhaps benefit from more sweep to his hindquarters but moved well with a light lifting action. Best of Breed 2. Godber-Ford’s Affyneeta Mountain Breeze black and silver litter brother and similar remarks apply. He could benefit from a slightly longer neck and he wasn’t quite as positive on the move which decided my placings but still a lovely boy.
Basset Hound
O (3.1) 1.Beckett’s Beckshounds Kellys Hero 7mth red and white male of lovely type. Correct head with well-shaped eye, long set ears and overall attractive expression. Long arched neck into well laid forehand. Tight feet and good forechest. Nicely ribbed back and desired rear angulation. Moved well in all directions. Best of Breed. 2.Beckett’s Beckshounds Bronco Billy 7mth Male. Much to like about this boy especially in quality and type but gave way to his brother’s maturity and movement . Loved his head and expression. Needs to mature and settle down moving as he tended to side wind but loved his overall type.
Borzoi
O (2.1) 1. Umfreville’s Barnesmore Betelgeuse At Voyshka 4yr old masculine boy. Attractive head with typical expression and well-set ears. His neck runs smoothly into his well-placed shoulders. Correct ribbing and depth of brisket with good cut up. Correct return of upper arm. I found him a little wide in elbow and consequently he pinned in front action. Move well behind. Best of Breed
Basset Fauve De Bretagne
O (2.1)1. Carter’s Gouvier Expresso Martini JW 3yr old male Handsome chap, masculine head with lovely typical expression. Generally well-constructed of compact balanced type. He moves very well in all directions with lovely attitude. Best of Breed
A.V.N.S.C Hound
P (2) 1. Cadmore’s Soletrader Queen Lizzie 6mth old Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen bitch of quality, beautiful head and expression, long neck flowing into well placed forehand, good depth and ribbing for age, sound and balanced when moving in all directions, showing great promise for the future Puppy Group 3. 2. Cross’s Whilloer Girl On Fire At Pedara Dark tan 10mth old Cimeco Dell’Etna bitch. Correct well chiselled head with erect triangular ears, long neck leading into correct forehand and level topline with required steep croup with low set tail. Desired moderate rear angulation. Would prefer longer tail. Needs to settle on the move but only a baby.
G (1) 1. Granum & Cadmore’s Soletrader Prue Leigh Stood alone but appealed for her pleasing breed type, possesses a typical head and expression. Well balanced throughout and moved well in all directions.
O D/B (2) 1.Cadmore’s Soletrader Splish splash A lovely quality Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, love her head and eye, well set ears and super expression. Well-constructed all through with good bone and feet, she moved soundly with ideal balanced action Hound Group 2.Carter’s Ir Ch Abbidah De Polvo Magico Imp Aut CJW2004 Attractive feminine Sloughi bitch with a lovely head and large oval expressive eyes. Ears set close to skull and triangular. Strong long neck. Correct moderate ribbing and defined tuck up plus short loin and arch to topline. Would prefer more flex to her pasterns. Good long fine tail carried well on the move. Albeit light l would like a tad more accuracy on the move.

AV PG Stakes (32) 1.Dosson’s Leggatts Part Time Lover Such a lovely quality Norwegian Buhund male of desired compact type with lovely wedge head high set ears and dark expressive eyes. Correct light balanced action. 2. Satherley & Wynter’s Lakka’s Yankee Sweet Silkcroft (Imp Swe) JW Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who pressed the winner hard. Balanced all through, super head and typical eye. Moved well. 3. Rycroft’s Chidax Sahara Sand By Trisensara JW
AV O Stakes (27.25abs) 1. Clarkes’s Covarney Dream Time From Bronrians Irish setter bitch put down in super condition. Very attractive head with desired planes. Long neck into good forehand. Correct topline and ribbing. Deep brisket and good sweep to her hindquarters. Moved soundly, with reach and drive, well handled. 2.
