EASTER PREMIER OPEN SHOW

29 MAR 24

SPANIEL (COCKER)

PD/B 6(1)

1. Harrison’s Glenbrows Blue Sherbert. Perfectly presented Cocker, full to the brim of merriment and cheer, super proportions, lovely head with correct stop and chiselling, great bone, and substance, showed so very well, super rib and strode around the ring with determination, RBOB & BP in a quality entry, one for the future.

2. West’s Jamesfield Just A Star at Sheigra. Much to like but preferred the head and stop of 1, good top-line and lovely coat of the correct texture, well presented, nice feet and moved well, just not as settled as the winner today, a very promising youngster.

3. Leslie’s Ferrersedge Farthing.

JD/B 4(1)

1. Eastwood/Glendinning’s Plaiglen Nacho. Pleasing eye-catching exhibit, liked him for size and proportion, in top-line he is strong complimented by a short neck, well off for rib and deep in brisket, he had the most typical head of the class and was presented perfectly, on the move he was sound.

2. Williams’ Wilmerella Highlander. Larger, upstanding chap who was stronger in head, much to like and full of character and cheek! His tail didn’t stop, and he had the kindest expression, lovely coat and well off for body, super bone and lovely feet.

3. Boole’s Plaiglen Poker of Arramow.

PGD/B 10(2)

A challenging class to judge.

1. Brothwell’s Wissant Dear Darlin. Caught my eye immediately, won on balance and outline, lovely melting expression and balanced angles to the fore and rear, one of the more settled exhibits on the move today, had the compactness one expects from this breed.

2. Terry’s Shaggylands Sexy And I No It JW. This exhibit grew on me as the class went on and was the best on the move, appreciated the head, rear quarters and lock hocks, his short neck helped his outline, and he held his classic shape on the move.

3. West’s Sheigra Super Secret JW.

OD 6(0)

1. Marris-Bray/Wiggins’ Glowhill Gallivant JW. Super quality Cocker, lovely outline, short neck, super body, excelled on the move, clean coming and going with bustling movement in addition, lovely classic head with nothing overdone, nice feet, good size, a real delight to handle, it was a pleasure to award him BOB in a quality entry.

2. Brothwell’s Wilanorah Ticket To The Moon at Wissant. Pushed one hard and not unlike for type which I had been looking for today, not as solid in top-line, heavier but not incorrect in head, another that excelled on the move, not deterred by the smaller ring and made it his own.

3. Sewell’s Kerriglow Dream Again for Quattrozampe.

OB 5(1)

1. Brothwell’s Wissant Uptown Girl. Merry lady, not in the heaviest of coat, I liked her head and expression, she could move, and she wanted to move which is why she headed the class unlike so many of today’s entrants, was also in first class order and not carrying too much condition.

2. Sewell’s Wintonia Hidden Gem at Quattrozampe. An older bitch, melting expression, super coat in excellent condition, top line lacking a little firmness today which I forgave on age but she was a pleasure to assess, perhaps a little long in body but so sound and so classic, no mistaking her breed or sex.

3. West’s Sheigra Simply A Star JW.

IRISH SETTER

PD/B 3(2)

1. Allen/Bott/Morgan’s Quensha The One Man Show (AI). Upstanding male, so smart for one so young, he has such style and class, held his top-line, nothing overdone, he is balanced, classic neck into lovely shoulders, really scores in upper arm for one so young, lovely bone and once he found his stride, goodness he could move, RBOB & BP.

PGD/B 3(1)

1. Allen/Bott/Morgan’s Quensha Joker And The Queen. Lovely bitch, not in the best of coats today, but what she had was of correct texture, but she is balanced with forecast and depth of chest, her head and eye are to be admired complimented by good strong dentition, she had tight feet and on the move she is settled, sound and ground covering. BOB.

2. Jarvis’ Settersay Sapphire. A more moderate exhibit with nothing overdone, on the move less settled today which regrettably cost the placing as there was plenty to like, I particularly appreciated the top-line and condition with good neck and bone.

OB 1(0)

1. Jarvis’ Lowdon Away With The Fairies. I understand that this bitch hasn’t been in a ring for some time favoring grouse counting on the moors and you wouldn’t know it, showed very well stood like a pro and she was a pleasure to assess, in super condition and very much enjoying her day, lovely head, super coat, and moderate throughout, lacked a little pizazz on the move.

GORDON SETTER

OD/B 1(0)

1. Roberts’ Moonglade Lily Mae Magic. 2-year-old lovely Gordon, she really excels on the move where she covered the ground freely and easily, on the stack she was moderate, typical and classic with a super coat, she was presented beautifully, lovely tight feet, excellent bone, great body and rib with a lovely classic head, stood alone but a worthy winner, BOB.

RETRIEVER (CURLY COATED)

PD/B 1(0)

1. Clack/Eddery’s Epsilon Adhara at Molokain. Lovely pup who oozed style and showmanship, so well off for body for one so young, loved balance fore and rear with that typical coat of dense curls all over, correct top-line and lovely feet, on the move he glided around the girls and had charisma in abundance, BP.

PGD/B 1(0)

1. Clack’s Molokain Hocus Pocus. Mature bitch, not quite concentrating on the job in hand today but did enough, her head is typical and feminine, on the move she was clean and steady but didn’t wholly make the best of herself, she has much to like but just needs a little more practice to ensure she shows herself to best advantage.

OD/B 4(1)

1. Clack’s Bazzy Inti Anka at Molokain (imp CZE). Liver male, smaller than some but balanced all the same and managed the ring a little better today, slightly more rear angulation than 2, super top-line, good strong dentition with correct scissor bite, lovely neck into good shoulder, he was a pleasure to assess, would prefer a more typical head BOB.

2. Brookes’ Infallibles Black Crusader at Keismere (imp NOR). Tall, upstanding male with the most laid back attitude you could wish to meet, he has type in spades, I’d rather a little more oomph on the move, he is absolutely class in shape and quite stylish, he certainly fills the eye and is so well off for body, is in super condition and a real credit to his owners, I hope he soon finds his ‘on button’, RBOB.

3. Stubbs’ Brightmeadow Take Your Time at Densdale.

AV HOUND NSC

PD/B 4(1)

1. Sanders Parker/Revay’s Era Lilian Gillath Classicus (imp CZE). Lovely youngster full to the brim with promise, super head and expression, excellent eye, ear and teeth, great body and good outline, moved very well and headed a lovely class, BP AVNSC.

2. Sawyer’s Inchydoney Memories Une Virgin Mary avec Stonelow (imp FRA). Quality Greyhound who was a pleasure to assess, in super order with good muscle all over, went well with ease and has soundness in abundance.

3. Sawer’s Boughton Back On Top.

JD/B 6(2)

1. Taylor’s Erylan Pols De Senteur for Nottorg. PBGV. When it all came together this exhibit looked rather stylish with balance and good top-line topped off with a good jacket and a determined but purposeful gait.

2. Townsend’s Overbecks Esme Shelby at Roxastan. Another PGBV, a little less enthusiastic than 1 but pleasing head, melting eye, good body and gave a good account on the move, lovely to go over.

3. Sawer’s Boughton Back On Top.

PGD/B 2(1)

1. Hamilton/Garret/Oakey’s Caryna Oberon. Saluki. Pleasing male, much to like, clean in head, was sound on the move, lovely coat and in super condition with excellent muscle, lovely eye and coat in full gleaming condition, RBAVNSC.

OD/B 2(1)

1. Townsend’s Afterglow Curtain Call avec Roxastan. Appealing hound handled to full advantage, more moderate than some and not flashy but not incorrect, showed well, put out in excellent condition, really good to go over, clean and tidy coming and going, moved around the ring freely, BAVNSC.

AV IMPORTED REGISTER BREEDS (HOUND)

OD/B 1(0)

1. Syson’s Dalmarno Calista at Broadshore. 3 year old lady who really appealed in head with super chest and body, had the sweetest of nature, on the stand when she wasn’t distracted she looked quite the picture, going around she had a determination and style of her own with super soundness, BAVImp.

AV HOUND

PD/B 11(6)

1. Nuthouse Going For Gold. Rhodesian Ridgeback. Ultra feminine bitch, very pretty, balanced and moderate but so typical, lovely tight feet, excellent head and on the move she was so sound, I liked her body which was right for her age.

2. Winterfield Lady In Red. Dachshund (MSH). So very fizzy and full of personality, lovely to go over with the tightest of feet, pleasing head and superb top-line, didn’t disappoint on the move either, pressed hard for first place.

3. Dellanza What’s Your Motive.

JD/B 13(7)

1. Holder/Boggia’s Boughton Back To The Future. Greyhound. Not standing to full advantage but well handled and on the move I was willing to forgive, eye and expression were fulfilling, pleasing depth of chest and good body were right for age, on the move she was sound, clean and effortless.

2. Johnson Ungowa On The Road Again. All male chap perhaps a little heavy in head for my taste but he was undeniable in sex, breed and type, so very showy and sound, he had balance and soundness that others lacked.

Mutoko’s Parkers Glory.

PGD/B 9(6)

1. Ungowa On The Road Again. Repeat.

2. Hundpoint Meena Tils. Dachshund (SH). Much to like, particularly in head and eye, lovely tight feet, well nailed, super condition with well muscled rear quarters, lovely body and moved with ease.

3. Melminds Make Them Gold.

OD/B 4(3)

1. Kinabula’s all About The Bass. Rhodesian Ridgeback. 6 year old who scores in depth, body and angles, she is balanced and in super condition, she belies her years and hides it well, not quite as coordinated on the move as she could be but given her age and the time of day it was easy to forgive this.

AV VETERAN (HOUND)

1. Glasvey Double Trouble for Loggeta. Dachshund (LH). Caught my eye and just got better, no signs of age whatsoever, in head so appealing, good coat and in superb condition, moved with real joy and soundness too.

2. Citycroft Venezia with Elleonia. My class winner at first glance but appeared to tire and lose a little enthusiasm, whereas the winner seemed to go the other way, melting expression, superb outline and so very sound and clean on the move, a pleasure to judge.

3. Ch. Carpaccio Jasper from Hamoura ShCM VW.

HOUND GROUP.

1. Hardy & Hallam Tokaji Kiss Me Kate Basenji Took my eye on the stack wowed me on the move and just got better in the end was wholly undeniable a pleasure to assess shown in first class order and topped a really quality line up.

2. McPherson & Paterson Antonius Vertragus The Ngong Hills (Imp Fra) Deerhound Melting head and expression shown in hard condition that many would envy coped well in a smaller ring and still moved with grace and style.

3. Moore Cloudside Vincent Standard Wire Upstanding determined chap that could not be denied just right for age but with so much balance and finish and showed so very well.

4. Scanlon Kinabula’s All About The Bass JW ShCex Osw Ridgeback Judged this one earlier and delighted that my fellow judged shared my opinion perhaps the oldest in the group but one of the sounded with some considerable ease, completed a lovely line up of hounds.

HOUND PUPPY GROUP.

1. Moore Cloudside Vincent Standard Wire Placed in him the group, in here he was stand out and I will follow his career with interest as I am sure he is destined for great things as well he knows. It was a pleasure to assess him.
