Judge Jantsje vd Meer-Metzlar (Frisian Staff’s)

Firstly I would thank the officers and committee of the East Anglian Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club for my invitation to judge their single breed open show.

I was honored and felt very privileged.

Myself and my husband had a very warm welcome and were very well looked after.

Also thanks go out to my stewards Kim, Gary, and David who kept everything running well in the ring.

Thank you to all the excibitors for entering their dogs under me, and letting me go over them, and taking my decisions in a sportive manner. It was a real plesure, I had a great day!

I didn’t find any health issues to report. I noted some mouth faults and the lack of fitness of some dogs. A couple of dogs were to short in the muzzle in my opinion. We have to think about that when we want to breed. They need to be able to breathe.

Dogs

Class 1- Minor puppy dog (1)

1st Mr & Mrs Duffield &Mansell-Duffield Sharmara Lacrnum Inflamari

        8 months old red puppy dog who has a nice keen expression. Good pigmentation.

        Nice dark round eyes, clean in the head and clean lips. He has neat ears and well placed.

        Good length of muzzle and wide nostrills, and correct dentation.

        He has a good straight front, good depth of brisket and is good angulated in front.

        Well padded feet.

        His ribs well sprung for his age, a good topline. Good tailset.

        Good puppy movement for age. He was shown in a good condition and handled well.

        I’m sure his time will come in future, good luck with him! Best puppy in Show!

Class 2- Puppy dog (3)

1st Mr & Mrs Waltham Dringshaw Strobe

        Almost 10 months old white puppy dog with good pigmentation around the eyes.

        Nice round dark eyes, clean head and lips , I missed a bit filling under the eyes.

        Well set ears. A good length of muzzle and wide nostrills, also correct dentation.

        I really loved his front , wide and straight and a good depth of brisket.

        Good angultation in front and rear, and well padded feet, which he stands correctly on

        He has a good topline and well developed ribcage for age. Good tailset.

        Moved well for his age, good luck with him in future!

2nd Mrs NJ Buchan Happystaff Hakuna Matata

        Nearly 11 month old brindle puppy dog who will needs time for maturing.

        He has a clean head with a nice expression, dark eyes and well placed ears and good length

        of muzzle. Good dentation. Good angulation in front and rear. Good topline and good tailset.

        1 st is more matured thats why he placed 2nd. well presented.

3th Mr Cox (legend) & Mrs Robinson-Cox Hamason Sweet Little Mystry

        9 month old brindle with white puppy dog he is the tallest of this puppy dog class.

        He has a nice expression with nice round dark eyes. Well placed neat ears.

        Good size of muzzle with good dentation, open nostrils.

        Straight front and good bone,good angulation in front and rear

        Level topline a bit longer in the loin. Moved and handled well.

Class 3- Junior dog (2/1)

1st Mrs N Moorcroft Ellchansha Charm The Devil At Moorstar

       This dog caught my eye even he was the only one in the class.

       A very nice standard black brindle dog with no exaggerations.

       He has a very nice expression with nice dark round eyes, well placed ears and good length of

       muzzle and open nostrills.

       Good dentation. He has a good straight front and good depth of brisket and standing nice

       on his well padded feet. He has a short coupled body with good rib , good angulations in front

       and rear. Level topline which he held on the move. Good tailset.

       In the line up he stood there with sparkles around him “an eyecatcher”.

       I was very pleased to award him Best Dog and Best in Show!

Class 4- Yearling dog (4/3)

1st Mr & Mrs Lloyd Kalostaffs Es Lo Que Es JW

       A powerfull black brindle dog, and I loved his condition and fitness.

       Strong head with a nice expression, good stop nice dark round eyes and well placed ears.

      Good size of muzzle and open nostrills.

      He has a wide front with good depth of brisket, standing nice on his well padded feet.

      Good topline, good rib and has a short coupled body, good angulation in front and rear.

      Very nice movement was shown in a great condition which I like very much.

2nd Mr & Mrs Miller Skyland Imperial JW

      Black brindle balanced dog with a nice expression He was the smallest one in the class

      He has a clean head nice dark round eyes and well set ears .correct size of muzzle.

      A good straight front with well padded feet .Short coupled body with a good topline.

      His movement was a bit narrow then 1st well presented.

3th Mrs NJ Buchan Leebee’s Paint The Town Red At Happystaff

      Pied white red topsize dog who needs to mature and give him the time to do it.

      Nice clean head with round dark eyes, well placed ears and good length of muzzle with open

      nostrills. Good angulation in front and rear, good topline. A bit long in the loin. Moved and

      handled well.

Class 5- Novice dog (3/2)

2nd Mrd K A Ogon Primistaff Smooth Criminal

        Red topsize dog with a clean head and handsome expression. He has a longer muzzle with

        open nostrills , well placed ears and bit lighter eyes.

        He is standing straight on his well padded feet .Good rib and good topline.

        A nice red colour short and gleaming coat , good tailset Moved okay and handled well.

Class 6- Graduate dog (1/1a )

Class 7- Post graduate dog (3/0)

1st Mrs L Hudson Fairlenium Iron King At Canisstaff

        White brindle pied dog with a clean head, he has a good size of muzzle with open nostrills.

        Good well placed ears, dark eyes and good dentation.

        He has a good straight front with a good depth of brisket and well angulation in the front,

        I prefer more rib.

        He has a good topline and is well angulated in the rear with a good bent of stiffle.

        Good tail set , moved well was shown in a good and fit condition.

2nd Mrs HC Nolan Chiswelstaff I Am Legend

        Standard black brindle dog. Clean head and nice expression,, nice dark round eyes and neat

        ears. Good size of muzzle with open nostrills. He has a wide front with good depth of brisket.

        Good rib and short coupled, good angulation in rear good, tail set.

        He moved very nice in the ring and well presented.

3th Mr & Mrs Tomkins Pascal Reach Out And Touch

       Standard black brindle dog with a clean head and lovely expression. Good ear carridge

       and nice dark eyes. Good size of muzzle with open nostrills.

       Good front but his pasterns could be a bit stronger . Good rib and good topline , good

       angulation in front and rear , well presented.

Class 8- Open dog (9/7)

1stMr & Mrs Jefferson Alport Bold Ruler

       Nice standard well balanced with no exaggerations black brindle dog,

       he has a nice clean head with a very nice expression, well placed ears,

       good size of muzzle. Good teeth. I prefer a darker eye.

       He has a straight front, with good depth of brisket and standing straight on his well padded

       feet. Good bone.

       Good rib and has a short coupled body with a level topline. Well angulated in the front and

       rear

       Good bend of stiffle. Good movement with drive , shown in a fit condition and I was happy

       to award him Reserve Best Dog and Reserve Best In Show!

2nd Major (retd) & Mrs Yates Zakdan Devious Devil JW

       Standard well balanced dog with very nice expression , clean head nice dark round eyes

       and well set ears.

       He has good size of muzzle with open nostrills, good under jaw, good dentation.

       Good wide front with good depth of brisket. Good ribs. Good bone and well padded feet.

       He had a level topline which he held on the move. Good movement and handled well

       Pushed hard for 1st but I preferred the fitness of 1st.

3th Mr&Mrs Thomas & Mr&Mrs Griffiths Ch Gazstaff’s Black Magic

       Smart looking standard black brindle dog with no exaggerations.

       Clean head with dark round eyes, neat ears . correct size of muzzle, good dentation.

       Good straight front, well angulated in the front and rear. Good rib and topline which he held

       on the move. Shown in a fit condition and handled well.

Class 9- Veteran dog (3/2)

1st Miss G Rowe & Mr D South Illori Akinlana JW ShCM VW

      Very nice ten years old black brindle dog. So nice to see how fit he still is,

      He has a clean head nice dark round eyes well set ears. For age good teeth.

      Good size of muzzle with open nostrills.

      A good straight front and well padded feet. Enough bone structure, good angulation in front

      and rear. Good topline . Moved still like a youngster. Thank you for entering him it was an

      honour to go over him.

      Well deserved Best Opposite Sex Veteran In Show!

2nd Mrs Sloka Alport Hallo Man

      this lovely lad is 15 years old and still having the looks. He loved the bait who was in the

      hand of his owner. He is a standard dog with a nice expression. Dark eyes and well set

      ears. Good wide front and wide neck and good ribs. Level topline and good tailset.

      He had a happy movement with his owner through the ring. Thank you for entering him .

Bitches

Class 10- Minor puppy bitch (1/1)

1st Mr & Mrs Miller Skyland Ryoko

        7,5 month old black brindle with white chest bitch, she has a very female clean head,

        with nice dark round eyes , neat ears and good teeth.

        Her front is a bit narrow, standing straight on her well padded feet.

        For age well sprung ribs and a good topline She is well angulated in the back with good bend

        of stiffle. Good tailset For age she moved well and was well presented in a good fit

        condition.

Class 11- Puppy bitch (1/1)

1st Major (retd) & Mrs Yates Keepastaff Lock And Load At Zakdan (IMP DNK)

        Brindle with white marks puppy bitch, with a nice expression.

        She has a clean head with dark round eyes and neat ears. Good dentation.

        Good wide front with good depth of brisket, good bone structure and well padded feet.

        Ribs well sprung for age at the moment. Good angulation in front and rear.

        She has a good movement for age , she is young she will get there ! well presented.

        Best Opposite Sexs Puppy in Show.

Class 12- Junior bitch (5/4)

1st Liggins & Curd Ellchansha Under Your Spell At Knockon

        This young bitch caught my eye the moment she stood in the ring, she had what I call

        sparkles around her.

        She has a very nice expression and a beautifull clean head, tight lips. Nice round deep dark

        eyes, well placed ears, good stop and good length of muzzle good with open nostrills.

        Good dentation. She has a very nice straight front with good depth of brisket.

        No weakness in the pasterns, tight feet . Good angulation in the front going into well laid

        back shoulders.

        well sprung ribs, and good topline, good angulation in the rear with a good bend of stiffle.

        Short coupled body moved well.

        Shown in a nice fit condition.

        Pleased to award her Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex In Show. Thank you for bringing her.

2nd Mr & Mrs Hunter Grizzlystaff’s Stand By Me

        Another beautifull bitch with a very nice expression. Clean head with nice dark round eyes.

        A bit thicker lips then 1st, neat ears, good size of muzzle and open nostrills, good dentation.

        Good straight front and well padded tight feet, good angulation in front and rear.

        Level topline and short coupled, good tailset.

        She moved well and handled well.

3th Mr & Mrs Hammond Hammystaff Hot Love

       Nice red white bitch with a strong femine head. Nice expression with dark eyes and well set

       ears. Good length of muzzle and open nostrills.

       Good front with good depth of brisket, good bone and well laid back shoulder. Level topline

       She has well sprung ribs and is short coupled in body , well angulated in front and rear.

       Moved and handled well. Think she was tired of the day before she wasnt sparkley as

       normal.

Class 13- Yearling bitch(4/3)

1st Mrs A Johnson Ellchansha Put A Spell On You

       She is a litter sister of 1st junior bitch and looks lovely. She didnt want to use her ears.

       Black brindle bitch a bit higher up on the legs. She has a nice clean head with good

       expression. Dark eyes and good size of muzzle with open nostrills. Good teeth.

       Straight front and good depth of brisket, well sprung ribs and level topline. Good angulation in

       rear, good bend of stiffle. She is in balance. Moved and handled well. Was shown in a fit

       condition.

2nd Mrs G Jones & A&D Messrs Rougestaff Red Velvet

      Red with white marks bitch who has a nice dark mask. Very nice deep red colour.

      She has a nice femine clean head with a sweet expression. She has nice dark round eyes.

      Neat ears and clean good size of muzzle. Straight and good width in her front. She has good

      angulation in front and rear with good movement. I prefer a bit more fitness/ condition.

      Handled well.

3th Mr & Mrs Miller Skyland Consort JW

      Black brindle small bitch, who is in a very fit condition, a credit to her owner!

      Nice clean head with a keen expression, nice dark round eyes, well set ears.

      She has a wide front standing straight on her well padded feet. I would prefer a bit more rib.

      She is short coupled, good angulation in front and rear. Moved and handled well.

Class14- Novice bitch

1st Mrs A Johnson Ellchansha Cast A Spell

       Another litter sister of 1st junior but also of 1st yearling, she was the tallest of her sisters.

       These girls a looking very similiar, for a breeder thats what we want.

       Black brindle with white markings on chest and feet.

       She has a nice expression round dark eyes and neat ears. Good length of muzzle with open

       nostrills. Straight front with good bone well placed shoulders leading to a level topline.

       Well angulated in front and rear with good bend of stiffle. She was also shown just like

       her sisters in a very good fit condition. Moved and handled well. Reserve best bitch.

2nd Mr S Parry Berrystock Heart And Soul

      Nice black brindle bitch with a nice expression, she had a clean head well placed ears.

      Dark round eyes and good size of muzzle, good teeth.

      She has a good wide straight front and standing nice on her well padded feet.

      Very nice well sprung ribs ! Good angulation in front and rear with good bend of stiffle.

      Was shown in a very fit condition . Moved and handled well.

      1st was more femine in the head thats why 2nd.

3th Mrs NJ Buchan Happystaff Kisses Of Fire

       Black brindle femine bitch who has a naughty keen expression. She was following me with

       her eyes.

       She has a clean head, nice dark round eyes and neat ears. Good size of muzzle good teeth.

       A bit narrow in front, but well angulated, good bend of stiffle. Good tailset.

       Moved okay handled well.

Class 15- Graduate bitch (7/5)

          Good pigmentation. She has a good front but with

          less bone structure. Good topline and good tailset. Good angulation in rear with good bend

          of stiffle. Handled well.

Class16- Post graduate bitch (5/4)

1st Miss G Rowe & Mr D South Illori Constellation JW

        Well balanced black brindle bitch , nice femine head with a lovely expression.

        She has dark eyes and her ears are well set. Good size of muzzle with open nostrills and

        good teeth. She has a good straight front and showing no weakness in her pasterns, well

        padded feet. Well placed shoulders.

        Good angulation in front and rear and good topline which she held on the move

        Shown in a very fit condition Handled nice by owner.

2nd Mr&Mrs Thomas & Mr&Mrs Griffiths Skyestaff Truest Desire For Gazstaff

         Black brindle bitch who made her owner work hard! She was a bit excited

         She’s a nice standard bitch in a very fit condition.

         She has a nice clean head, dark round eyes and neat ears. Good size of muzzle

         with open nostrills . Good straight front with good depth of brisket, well padded feet.

         Well placed shoulders good topline She is well angulated in front and rear.

         Liked her temperament.

1st Mr & Mrs Rogers & Ms Daly-Lees Berrystock Best Kept Secret

        Black brindle standard bitch in a super fit condition. I really like that.

        Clean femine head , nice dark eyes well placed ears. Good size of muzzle with open

        nostrills, good teeth, good under jaw.

        She has a wide front with a good depth of brisket, standing on her well padded feet.

        Well laid back shoulders , and well sprung ribs (don’t see like this often). Good angulations

        in front and rear. She ’s short coupled, short in loin, good tailset.

        Moved nice with drive and handled well.

2nd Mrs L Hall Georgiestaff Nee Botha JW

        Nice standard size black brindle bitch with a femine head. She has a nice expression.

        Dark round eyes , tidy ears, good size of muzzle with good under jaw, good teeth.

        Good front and good depth of brisket but I like front more of nr 1.

        A bit weaker on her pasterns, well padded feet.

        Well placed shoulders going into a good topline. Good angulation in the rear with good bend

        of stiffle. Moved and handled well.

        Black brindle bitch with a nice expression, clean head with dark eyes, ears a bit flighti.

        Good size of muzzle open nostrils, good dentation.

        Straight wide front with good depth of brisket. Well padded feet. Good topline.

        Moved with drive, handled well.

        9 years old lovely old bitch, who is still looking nice and fit.

         Almost 11 years old brindle lady Still looking great.

         Nice clean femine head with nice round eyes you can see in her eyes that she’s an old lady

         She has a good front and well angulated in the front and rear, good ribcage.

         Short in the loin. Nice movement lovely lady. thank you for bringing her.

        Another 9 years old lovely girl who was still in a very nice condition.

        Red bitch with white markings Clean femine head with dark round eyes, good pigmentation

        Good size of muzzle open nostrills. Good front and well sprung ribs. Well angulated.

        Nice movement for a lovely veteran girl. Thank you for bringing her.
