Breed: Basenji, Whippet, Tibetan Spaniel

West Bromwich & Wednesbury CS Open show Saturday 21st September 2024. Held at the Kennel Club Building

A very pleasant busy show as always. I thank all exhibitors for their entries in these times when money is tight for all of us. The sportsmanship around the ring was pleasing and my decisions were received in a sporting way.

Basenji: Jr. 1. Justartee This is Me – Stratton – R/W B. Exciting 7-month-old with medium width to skull, slight stop, and clean cheeks. Her ears were set well forward with a slight hood. Nicely crested neck with a graceful curve, good length holding her head strongly. Agreeably filled chest with ample spring to ribs which were deep and oval. Firm level topline, short muscular loin, and muscular hindquarters with strong well let down hocks. BP RBOB. 2. Aaskaifleet Dada Dunia for Torqmonky – English – R/W B – this young girl was a little unsettled today. Appealing head with fine wrinkles forming a diamond shape on her forehead. Almond-shaped hazel eyes which were far-seeing. The best feet of the class nice depth of chest and spring of ribs. She covered the ground with a swinging action. PG. 1. Aheme Cinnamon Swirl For Justartee – Stratton – R/W B – An adult girl of good shape. Attractive head with good proportions, small slightly hooded ears strong muscular neck into decent shoulders enough fill to chest, and oval ribs reaching to short muscular loin. Clean underline and well-defined waist. Decent tail set and curl. O. 1. Am Ch Klassic’s Cloudside Walker (Imp USA) - Hallam, Kite, Gillespie – R/W D – Masculine and refined strong-boned who is well balanced. Correct head proportions with erect small hooded ears set well forward and dark almond eyes set obliquely. Super front with well laid, muscular shoulders and good depth of chest with well-sprung ribs giving an oval shape. Short muscular loin with nicely muscled rear angulation, moderately bent stifles strong hocks his tail is curled tightly over his back and clear shelf. He moved around the ring full of aristocratic arrogance and grace with masculinity. BoB

Whippet: P. Whitesquall Mionetto – Skinner – A pleasing young brindle girl very feminine and elegantly balanced. Long lean head with a flat skull and slight stop. Nicely filled chest with good depth and spring of ribs. Strength in loin and well-developed hind quarters. On the move, she was free and flowing without effort. BP, RBOB. 2. Southpoint Volterra At Cariadglas (Imp Prt) – George – Brindle boy a very young and working on his show skills. Lovely dark eye oval in shape with alert expression. Ample bone and nicely filled out, straight legs to clean tight feet still some knuckle left to grow. Clean underline and good length of loin. Jr. 1. Cyangrang Tango Mango – Johnson - Appealing brindle girl Flat skull with rose-shaped ears held close to head. Muscular neck of ample length, I would prefer her chest to be better filled although she had a good depth. Her feet were oval in shape with well-split toes and nicely arched. She through her legs well forward. 2. Cariadglas Long Island - George – Feminine brindle girl with an attractive head and dark eyes giving an alert expression, muscular elegant neck with a slight arch. Well-shaped feet nicely knuckled, a little short in loin giving a more compact shape PG. 1. Almakaeala Just Go with It – Penberthy – A nicely maturing Fawn boy. At a desirable height for a male. Full of curves and muscle tone. Well-filled chest and enough spring of rib plenty of heart and lung room graceful arch over loin. He moved best in this class. 2. Cyangrange Serendipi Tea – Johnson – A mature Fawn girl nicely sized girl. She had seen it all before Well filled chest with good depth of brisket clean underline with a nice tuck up and muscular loin with graceful arch. OB. 1. Cyangrange Our Tiger Lilly. A mature brindle girl. Attractive head long lean broadest between eyes with little stop. Her eyes were dark and oval with an alert gentle expression. Her muscular neck arched elegantly into her shoulders that had flat muscles her forelegs were straight to oval shaped feet with well split toes and sound knuckle. She had a nice arch over her loin to muscular broad hindquarters with well bent stifles. She moved at a steady pace without effort. BOB. 2. Kipipiriking Jingle Bells – Bowyer – almost 2yrs the girl and needs some work on building her up and strengthen her muscles. She is a desirable size for a bitch just needs some time. She had a gentle eye and a bright expression.

Tibetan Spaniel: P. 1. Jr. Malia Mistletoe Kisses – Short - An exciting puppy full of sass. She had the attitude of a more mature girl and was not shy. Happy and outgoing. Dark eyes bright and expressive set in a small feminine head with defined stop. High set ear of medium size held well. Neck of enough length and full of coat, her nicely filled chest at this stage. Good height to length finishing with a high set tail high set tail. She had ample bone and correct amount of muscling at this sage of her development. On the move she was confident with a positive stride. BP PG: 1. Saxted Rosy Dream at Tinamba - Poyser & Bodell – Typical head of clean proportions feminine expression from well set medium sized dark eyes. Nicely ribbed back with enough spring of ribs. Strength in loin giving a firm topline. She had pleasing harefeet and plenty of feathering. O: 1. Oldcharm Peaky Love for Alandobel JW – Keapence & Keyte – this boy is maturing well. In super condition under his profuse coat. His topline was firm and level and his length of ribbing reached well back his hind angulation which was moderate which matched his fore. On the move he was positive and free. 2. Caselden Bella Rose – Ross – This veteran girl like to perform. She was nicely balanced with good depth of chest. Confident on the move with a high set tail that was richly plumed and carried in a gay curl. Judge Janet Kay
