Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this lovely show. It was such a shame that a ‘red alert’ for a storm was declared the day before the show, understandably meaning that the entries were hit hard. A huge thank you to all the exhibitors who braved the wind and rain to make it a super show. Delighted with the quality of dogs, it was an immense pleasure to have the opportunity to judge them. Spirits were high, which made for a lovely atmosphere.

Borzoi

Open (8,6)

1. Miss Thomas - Menigma Stay With Me

A very together 6 month old white/gold bitch, who showed herself off well in the rather small ring, which won her the class over her brother. Liked her overall shape and size, with a graceful outline. Long lean head, and dark eye. Good length of neck and enough depth for her age, holding the correct profile stood and on the move. Standing on well boned limbs and tight feet. Today more collected on the move – BOB & BP delighted to see she went onto win Puppy Hound Group 1

2. Pinkerton, Novotny, Catton-Sarman - Menigma Rey’s Infatuation

Litter brother to 1st, and thought he would be my winner, but not as together on the move as yet. Presenting a pleasing outline on the stack. Liked his head, lean and of good proportions, dark almond eye and neat small ears. Good depth for his age. Stifles well bent showing width to the thighs

1. Mrs Turk - Doucai’s B’imhabba At Devondakarai

6 year old Pharaoh Hound bitch, not completely settled in the hall, but moving nicely. Long lean head with a good length to the foreface, not using her ears today. Good length of neck, holding a firm topline, moderate angulation. Moving out cleaning behind with a flowing side gait - RBAVNSC

2. Mrs Cross - Whilloer Girl On Fire At Pedara

Delightful temperament on the 8 month old Cirneco Dell Etna bitch, could have taken her home. Unfortunately, she decided not to play this ‘showing’ game today, which was a shame as she has all the basics there, and lots to admire. Liked her head shape, but she also did not use her ears. The cold meant she was roaching her topline and being erratic on the move. – BP
