Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this well run show. We were blessed with lovely weather, and I was able to judge the hounds outside in a lovey big ring. A huge thank you to all the exhibitors for the immense pleasure of your lovely dogs.

Afghan

Puppy (2,1)

1. Ms Cook - Darling Boy Paul Ogrady

Delightful 8 month old dog puppy, who was full of beans and enjoying himself in the big grass ring. Stood, he presented a balanced outline. Pleasing head proportions, lovely dark expressive eyes. Good length of neck, still needing to mature through the body. Holds a firm topline, with a nice ring to the tail, good length from hip to hock. Striding out well for one so young - BP & Hound Puppy Group 4

Post Graduate (1,0)

1. Ms Cook - Grace Kelly

Litter sister to puppy winner. She has a similar stamp to her outline, but needing time to settle and show herself off to advantage. Liked her overall body proportions. Feminine head, with a good expression. Like her brother needs to drop in brisket and mature, as you would expect. Her topline was level with prominent pin bones. Hindquarters show a good bend of stifle. Not as tidy on the move behind at present

1. Ms Gizewska - Ch Saxonmill Zan Zan

Very stylish, elegant, and noble 7 year old black & Tan bitch. She holds a lovely outline on the stack. More compact in body proportions, with lovely flowing lines. Very feminine head, long and refined, with a dark keen eye. Long neck flowing seamlessly into a firm well held topline, having a lengthy sweep from hip to hock. Moved cleanly whilst holding her outline. Presented in full bloom - BOB.

2. Virgo & Hicks - Am Ch Suni Sky Full O’Stars By Sumahari (Imp USA)

Another quality dog, of a different stamp to winner, just shy of his 2nd birthday. Handsome long head, nicely chiselled, with a dark eye. Good length of neck, chest is well let down, slightly longer cast than winner, good pin bones and fall away, to a low set tail with a good ring. He has a lovely light side gait, just tending to lose his topline a fraction today, tidy in this action fore and aft. Well presented and handled – RBOB.

Beagles

Puppy (5,1)

1. Mrs Griffin - Clarismore Winter Luxury

Fell for this 6 month old tri bitch, she is a real eye catcher and shows herself off with confidence and style. Liked her feminine head, very pretty with a lovely expression from her dark eyes. Neck of good length with a slight crest, flowing neatly into a firm and well held topline. Deep in brisket with a good fill in of forechest. Standing on well boned limbs and neat feet. Moderate all through without any exaggeration. Moving out soundly both fore and aft, whilst holding her outline with a good head and tail carriage. BP & Puppy Hound Group 1, and RBPIS

2. Miss Wigstead - Lilleagle Jeremy Fisher With Bellenza

9 month old tri dog, with good bone and substance all through, and presents a balanced outline when stood. Masculine head with strength, dark eye and well placed ears. Strong neck of good length, firm well held topline. Lovely depth and a good spring to the ribcage. Strong straight well boned forelegs and tight feet. Not quite at tidy behind as winner today, but showed lovely drive in profile.

3. Miss Rushforth - Charterwood Spangled Gold

Post Graduate (4,1)

1. Mr Caple - Morsefield Laura Ashley

Much to admire on this 15 month old tri bitch, she is so very feminine, clean and shapely in her outline. Nothing is overdone and shows a balanced outline when stood. Such a delightful head, with a keen but soft expression. Clean straight front, good depth to the brisket and spring to the ribcage. Held a firm level topline both stood and on the move. Liked her hindquarters, they show a good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Moved soundly, but not showing the drive today.

2. Miss Davies - Lilleagle Chivas Whisky

10 month old sturdy tri bitch, playing her handler up today, so not getting the best from her. Liked her overall balance and substance. Well proportioned head, with a dark eye and well placed ears. Good length of neck, holding a firm topline and well set on tail. Deep through the body. Held her shape in profile movement.

3. Miss Wigstead - Lilleagle Jeremy Fisher With Bellenza

1. Mrs Griffin - Clarismore Twist And Shout

Very smart 3 year old T/W bitch, who looked a picture of balance, being compact with good body proportions. Pleasing head, with a lovely dark eye. Clean neck of good length flowing seamlessly into a firm and well held topline. Super depth to the brisket, and well developed in forechest. She stands on well boned limbs and tight feet. Well sprung ribs with a short strong loin. Wide hindquarters which she put to effective use to drive around the ring – BOB & Group 3

2. Mrs Caple - Morsefield Mudlark ShCEx

Another cracking hound, who I liked very much. Sturdy and well built 5 year old tri dog. Handsome and masculine head, well proportioned with a good length to the foreface and a kind eye. Strong neck, good round boned limbs and tight feet. Brisket is down to the elbow and ribs carried well back, a fraction longer in loin. Strong muscular hindquarters, showing clean and driving movement - RBOB.

3. Miss Davis - Lilleagle Miss Fisher

Rhodesian Ridgeback

Puppy (4,2)

1. Mr & Mrs Hicks - Nuthouse Mastermind

10 month old liver nosed dog, who presented a pleasing outline on the stack, still very raw, but it is all there. Masculine head, showing a flat skull of good width, proportionate length to the foreface, with keen expressive eyes. Strong neck flowing into a firm well held topline. Starting to develop through the body with a good spring of rib. Strong hindquarters, keeping his shape on the move, and fairly tidy in his action.

2. Mr Zhao - Vkloof Duke Lambo Galardo

Strong and upstanding , 9 month old red wheaten dog. He has lovely strength and substance all through. Balanced head shape, with strength to the foreface, well placed ears and a dark intelligent eye. Strong muscular neck, deep in brisket with strong wide quarters. Not as settled on the move today as winner, being a bit lose in front and at times losing his topline

Post Graduate (8,4)

1. Miss Hudson - Mutoko’s Parkers Glory

Most appealing 16 month old red wheaten bitch, thought she had the desired substance, but with a degree of elegance. She holds a lovely shape when stood, showing good overall balance. Her head shows feminine strength, with a flat skull of good width, round dark eye and keen expression. Forelegs straight and of good bone with well arched toes. Ribs carried well back to a strong loin. Wide hindquarters, with good muscle tone. Moving out well

2. Jeffery - Negasi Thorin At Rexgrove

2 year old wheaten dog, loved his overall size, substance and masculinity. Unfortunately, his mind was not on the job at hand which effected his movement. But so much to admire on this handsome boy. Pleasing head, with a good eye colour and kind expression. Strong neck, super bone and tight feet, tending to stand wide in front today. Well developed through the body and in super muscle tone.

3. Mr & Mrs Hicks - Nuthouse Going For Gold

Litter sister to puppy winner, just giving a bit away in maturity in this class, but thought she was lovely. Just 10 months old and showing

lovely balance. Similar to her brother, but in the challenge just preferred her movement, she is more together at present – BP & Puppy Group 2

Open (5,3)

1. Murphy & Cox - Carlincox Mash It Up JW

Very strong and upstanding red wheaten dog, who is coming up 2 years of age. So very smart when stood, presenting a balanced outline, showing strength and substance. He has a handsome masculine head, broad flat skull, dark round eyes, with a keen expression. Strong clean neck flowing seamlessly into a firm well held topline. Lovely depth and well filled in in-front. Standing on well boned limbs and compact tight feet. Deep in brisket, and rib carried well back, holding a firm topline both stood and on the move, showing a good ridge and crowns. Strong, wide and muscular hindquarters enabled him to drive around the ring, with a ground covering action, not quite as tidy in his front action today, but loved his power reach and drive. - BOB

2. Miss Adderley - Tambyssa’ Tawny Sky (AI)

Much to commend this light wheaten bitch, coming up 2 years of age. She looked a picture on the stack, balanced and workmanlike. She has lovely substance all through, but with feminine elegance. Liked her head, having good proportions, flat skull, right amount of stop, and strength to the foreface, keen and intelligent expression. Well developed in front with a good forechest and deep in brisket. Stands on well boned limbs. Ribs are well sprung and carried back to a strong loin. Liked her wide and muscular hindquarters. She is true in her movement, but today seemed rather lack lustre, so had to settle for RBOB.

King Charles Spaniels

Puppy (4,0)

1. Morley & Hitchcock - Baldragon Dream Chaser At Lizlanmor

Fell for this 6 month old heavier marked tri dog, what a delightful character his is. For one so young he showed himself off with great confidence and style. His head type appeals, with a lovely well domed skull with a good rise. Dark soulful eyes, giving a gentle expression. Showing a good turn up with well developed nostrils. Neck of decent length flowing into a well held topline. Body needing to mature, as you would expect at this age, but shows good proportions, with complimentary angles both ends. Outgoing on the move, showing drive – RBOB & BP & Puppy Group 3

2. Smith & Healey-Gates - Chacombe Just Charming

10 month old lighter marked tri bitch, today not having the confidence of winner to show herself to full advantage. Very pretty head, well domed skull, large dark eyes and low set ears. Good length of neck, starting to develop through the body, firm and level topline with a good tail carriage. Nicely angulated hindquarters and low set hocks. Just needing to settle a little more on the move.

3. Mr & Mrs Smith - Chacombe Just Magical For Justacharma

Open Dog (2,0)

1. Mr & Mrs Smith - Ch Justacharma So Magic JW

2 year old tri dog, who has a pleasing outline when stood. He has a compact and cobby body. Masculine head, with enough dome, large dark eyes with a gentle expression. Nicely cushioned muzzle with a good turn up and well filled in below the eyes. Would like a little more neck for complete balance. He holds a lovely firm and level topline, his chest is deep with good width. Liked his hindquarters they have a good bend of stifle and width to the thighs. A happy mover, true fore and aft, whilst holding his outline and using his tail well - BOB

2. Mr & Mrs Smith - Ch Justacharma Magic Goes on

Thought that this 5 year old tri dog would be my winner, as I liked his overall balance and cobby outline. Similar head type to his kennel mate, with enough dome, lovely dark eyes with a gentle expression, and his low set ears framing his face. Good length of neck, lovely depth to the brisket and well developed in forechest. Tending to fall away a little at the croup. Today could not match the movement of winner, and he tended to carry his tail a fraction higher.
