Harrogate & District canine Society. 4th August 2024

It was a great pleasure to be able to judge for the Harrogate & District Canine Society. I had two lovely stewards who were of great help. I would also like to thank the exhibitor for taking the time to allow me the pleasure of going over your lovely dogs.

English Springer Spaniel

OD – SH CH CALVDALE EVER THUS JW. -, A masculine dog with a lovely head leading to a clean neck and well laid shoulders. Deep chest with good front and rear angles. Impressive mover. Really liked this boy. BOB

Welsh Springer Spaniel

JB - FERNDEL SERENELLA FOR VYNESBROOK – This young lady has a feminine head and soft expression with a straight front and good front angulation with a clean neck.

PGB - Waverleyline To Millport - A balance bitch with a lovely feminine head and soft expression, clean neck leading to sloping shoulders and straight forelegs with good bone. In good coat condition and a lovely mover winner her BOB. Group 3

OD – 1st CHANANGEL YORKSHIRE ROSE - This girl stacks nicely and has good angles and muscle, soft expression. Strong neck and well sprung ribs. Winning the class on movement. RBOB

2nd - SH CH CHANANGEL JO SUGDEN JW - A well-balanced dog with a clean neck and deep chest with good muscle. Moved well.

German Shorthaired pointer

PGB - BARKERSDREAM WHO DARES WINS – This girl is in good coat and body condition. She has a feminine head with good spring of rib and a firm topline that she kept on the move. BOB

German wirehaired Pointer

PD – OVETIL CLASS ACT – This young lad has nice strong bone and tight feet on straight legs, good coat, and expression. He moved ok and was enjoying his outing. BP

JD – 1st BEECHILLAWN BREAK THE MOULD (IKC) - A lovely young lad who I wouldn’t like to see get any bigger. A wonderful coat. Good bone and a lovely shape when stacked. His movement was true fore and after winning him BOB.

2nd - OVETIL CLASS ACT – Repeat

OB – IR CH SH BEECHILLAWN MINT CHIP Cjw22 Cent JW Cent W – Nice bitch with good front assembly, nice expression with good facial furnishing. Strong bone but not over done to keep that feminine look. Would have liked a little more drive in her movement. RBOB

Italian Spinone

JB – PRINCESS PEA – I really like this young lady, soft expression, and feminine head. Has plenty of oval bone and very nice angulation. Correct coat and underline with good spring of rib. Thick skin and tight feet. Movement was positive covering the ground with reach and drive. BOB

PGB – 1st, ILSOLO WINNIE THE POOH – Another bitch with lots to like. Feminine head with a lovely soft expression which she used to her advantage. Good spring of rib with correct coat and thick skin. Good bone and feet. Moved with plenty off drive keeping her topline. RBOB

2nd, ILSOLO COOL BREEZE – Nice coarse coat of correct shade of brown, a thick tail and on the move, she showed her tick tock action. Good depth of chest and spring to rib, a tad longer in body. Moved well but not the drive of 1.

OD/B – OSULF WAITING FOR SUMMER – This girl moved the best winning her the class, Good topline that was kept on the move, strong in hindquarters though I would have liked a little less angulation. Coarse coat and square in profile. Handled very well.

2nd – OLIVES DAYDREAM BELIEVER – A lovely boy with some very nice qualities. Lovely expression and correct head planes. A well-made lad who is very square on the stack. Correct coarseness to his coat though this could do with a little work. He moves sure footed but lacked oomph losing him the class. His handler was a very sweet little girl who do a great job off handling a dog so big.
