Westbury & District Canine Society

15th September 2024

It was an honour to be judging today at Westbury the first show they have held in a few years. Also, for the support of all the exhibitors for allowing me the pleasure of going over your dogs.

And not forgetting my stewards who were excellent and efficient.

Italian Spinone

STOWLEDGE MITILDA – Kind expression with large spongy nose, short neck,  straight legs. Coat is of the correct coarseness, although this would benefit from being stripped out, giving her more of the Spinone outline, Moved OK. BOB.

Hungarian Vizsla

SYD/B- 1st, VIZSLANYA DOMENKOS – I liked this youngster, his overall shape and balance. Masculine head of good proportions without being overdone. Strong neck into laid back shoulders. Deep in chest and good spring of ribs for his age. Nice feet on straight legs with correct coat texture. Moved well, RBOB & BP

2nd – SEVENSDEN AUTUM GOLD - Lovely feminine head and expression, median line and a moderate stop, another with good spring of rib for age and nicely balanced on the stack. Moved well.

OD/B – DEBIAN DEERHUNTER JW - Masculine head with good expression. I liked the balance and shape of this dog, he has a moderate length of neck into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, level topline which was kept on the move. Good straight legs and tight feet. On the move he powered around the ring winning him the class. BOB & GP2

2nd – GUNFIELD PHANTOM- This boy captured my heart. His tail never stopped wagging. A well-balanced dog and on the stack, you could see his balance. Masculine head with the kindest of expressions and correct coat texture. Moved with ease covering the ground, just not with the power of one.
