My thanks to the committee for their kind invitation and hospitality. I thoroughly enjoyed my day, many thanks to my stewards and exhibitors for making this possible.
YKC 6-11 yrs (8,0)
Karson Maver. This smartly dressed young man had such an excellent rapport with his dog, showing excellent awareness for his dog throughout. Excellent breed-specific stacking, cleanly showed teeth and smooth pattern work with good corners and used the ring to advantage.
Darcie Fleming. Another smartly dressed exhibitor who had an obvious relationship with their charge. Stack work was slick and unobtrusive while showing teeth seamlessly. Just pipped to the post by Karson due to being a bit too quick on the corners which distorted her lines.
Konan Maver.
YKC 12-16 yrs (6,0)
Gemma Mackenzie. Showing a free stack breed is never easy, especially in the handling classes but Gemma made it look like a walk in the park! Excellent breed-specific presentation on the floor and table. Obvious rapport with her charge made their performance so eye-catching. Polished pattern work at the correct pace with straight lines and tight corners.
Danielle Wilson. Another very polished performance overall in all departments, many of the comments above apply in relation to her professional presentation throughout but just preferred the rapport Gemma had with her charge today.

Labrador Retriever Puppy (2,1)
Velvetine Highland Mist (Scrimgeour). This chocolate bitch was having a grand day out, taking her time to settle. Liked her overall make & shape. Good strength through her head with kind eye and correct sized ears. Good reach of neck into shoulder but would prefer slightly better return of upper arm. Well bodied for age with firm topline, decent tail carried well on the move. Sound from all angles on the move, in good coat. BP
Labrador Retriever Junior (2,2)
Labrador Retriever Graduate (4,0)
Roslieve Wind Of Change at Threerivers (MacLachlan). Typy yellow bitch of good overall type with pleasing proportions. Prettiest of heads with depth and strength throughout, correct eye shape and colour enhanced her kind expression. Slightly moderate angulation both fore/aft but balanced with an excellent topline and plenty of leg. Wide throughout with a lovely thick tail. Excellent mover, maintaining her shape and using her tail well.
Stormrose As Good As Gold (Roberts). This yellow dog appealed greatly for his strength of bone and overall presence. Broad in skull with correct ear set and big nose. Prefer him slightly cleaner through his head and neck. Correct forehand with straight limbs and neat feet. Excellent body with balanced length of foreleg. Symmetrical rear angulation with excellent tail and coat. Sound on the move, using himself well at all times.
Lillyview Diamonds Forever (Threader).
Labrador Retriever Post Graduate (6,0)
Amberstope Gold Label at Chapelmanor (Hallgarth). Ultra typy yellow dog who excels in bone and substance. Obviously masculine head without coarseness, kind eye and well set ears. Excellent angulation both fore/aft with a level topline, plenty of foreleg and wide quarters. Loved his thick well wrapped tail and firm hocks. Would prefer him a little less heavy to be critical. Excellent rhythmic movement with firmness in elbow and hock. Really liked him, BOB.
Velvetine Willow (Scrimgeour). Loved the make and shape of this black bitch. Built on clean lines without exaggeration. Prettiest of heads with dark eyes and correct proportions. Correct angulation both fore/aft with a super level topline and the best tail of the entry today. Wide through her front and rear quarters. Another sound mover but just preferred the side gait of 1 today.
Brudarach Baile Eilidh.

Amberstope Gold Label at Chapelmanor (Hallgarth).
Velvetine Paisley Park (Scrimgeour). Liked her overall make and shape, just prefer a bit more leg for overall balance. Feminine head with good width of skull. Golden Retriever Puppy (7,1)
A very varied class but thoroughly enjoyed a numerically good class of babies to judge.
Harmarjoy You’re My Love (Middlemiss & Brown). A very honest pale dog who appealed for his overall balance and size. Typical head with kind expression and dark pigment. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders with long upper arm, well boned limbs and neat feet. Excellent body for age with level topline and symmetrical rear angulation. Best mover of the class demonstrating and easy action with soundness going/coming. BP & PG2.
Seancaer Just The Beginning (Waddell). Built on smaller lines than 1 but loved her overall shape and proportions. Ultra pretty head with dark eyes. Excellent angulation fore/aft with a level topline, correct croup and tail set with excellent body for age. Another super sound mover for a puppy showing good coordination.
Bluebraes Gie It Lady (McFarlane).
Golden Retriever Junior (2,0)
Lamancha Trust Your Heart with Gloi (Walker & Roberts). One I judged as a raw puppy last year, pleased to see her more mature. Pretty of heads, dark eyes and correct pigment. Nice flow of neck into shoulder with well boned limbs and neat feet. Mature through body for age with a level topline. Balanced rear angulation, wide thighs and firm hocks. Good mover from all angles, maintaining her shape.
Donsudale Molly Malone (Ponsford). Larger and longer cast compared to 1 going through a bit of an in-between stage. This pale bitch possesses a pretty head with dark eyes and correct ear set. Liked her strength of bone and neat feet. Good length of foreleg with well angulated front & rear quarters. Sound from all angles once settled, needs time and confidence.
Golden Retriever Post Graduate (5,1)
Bluebraes River Run (McFarlane). Loved this dark gold bitch for her overall type, angles and shape. Excellent strength in bone without compromising her athleticism. Prettiest of heads with good shape of eye and skull. Excellent forehand with well developed forechest, would prefer a touch more leg to be critical. Level topline, deep brisket. Correct rear angulation with firm hocks. Stylish on the move with such an easy side gait. Not as collected in the challenge which forced her to give way to her kennel mate, really liked her.
Simon Basset de Ria Vela for Beinangus (Imp Esp) JW (Beck). A larger and shorter bodied dog than 1. Masculine head with correct stop and dark pigment. Neck flows into well laid shoulders. Correct body depth to leg length proportions with well sprung ribs. Strong topline and correctly angulated rear with firm hocks. A really good mover who also uses his tail well. Just preferred the width of pelvis on 1.
Gloi You Make Loving Fun (Walker & Roberts).
Golden Retriever Limit (2,1)
Milltimber My Girl (McGuffie). Well sized pale bitch of good overall proportions. Pretty head with dark eyes. Excellent forehand with plenty of leg, deep brisket and firm topline. Good bend of stifle but would prefer a slightly stronger 2nd thigh. Easy mover from all angles.
Golden Retriever Open (4,1)
Bluebraes Jacobite Lass (McFarlane). Another good one from this kennel, loved her for type and strength in bone. Classic head with dark eyes and correct pigment. Reachy neck into well-made forehand with obvious forechest. Needs a touch more leg for overall balance but has excellent depth and spring of rib. Level topline with correct tail set. Excellent bend of stifle with short firm hocks. Stylish on the go-round, maintaining her shape and is sound going/coming, BOB.
Harmajoy Winter Story (Middlemiss). Liked her proportions and type very much. Feminine head with strength through skull and muzzle. Clean flow of neck into shoulder, preferred the upper arm of 1. Excellent length of leg with maturity through her body. Excellent topline, firm underline and strong rear. Puts herself to good use on the move with an easy action and as sound as they come.
Milltimber Island Mist (McGuffie).
