Whippet

Puppy (3)

1. Uggeri’s Five Star Ladies Soulad by Bohosoul. This 10 months old red brindle bitch stood out in this class. Great for size, balance and proportions. Very feminine and of a lovely shape. Great front and rear angulation with good depth and fill of chest. Lovely shape to top and underline giving her a graceful curvy outline. Moved well, particularly in profile, a little unsettled coming towards at times. BPIB & HPG3.

2. Jones’ Silvergarth Selene. 9 month old fawn and white parti bitch. More raw than the winner of this class, which can be forgiven for a puppy of this age. Like the winner, very feminine with great shape to topline, well set tail reaching to hock. Curvy underline. Moved well coming and going, but not quite the fluidity in front movement in profile of the winner.

3. Robson’s Silvergarth Hyperion.

Junior (8,1)

1. Salkeld & Graham’s Dalerafenn Follow A Dream. A quality fawn bitch of excellent size and proportions. Clean head, long strong neck and textbook top and underline. Really excelled in movement. True coming and going with free easy movement in profile which ultimately won her this class. Would have just liked a little more front angulation.

2. Ugerri’s Bohosoul Bewitched. Another quality fawn bitch built on a slightly stronger frame than 1. Unfortunately a little unsettled at times today, but when settled, her free easy stride and graceful outline could not be ignored. Another excellent mover.

3. Sawin’s Falconcrag Eye Catcher.

Post Graduate (8)

1. Salkeld & Graham’s Dalerafenn Follow A Dream. 1st Junior.

2. Hutchinson’s Zenobia Just An Illusion with Sweetaurora. A refined brindle male who has a nice overall make and shape, perhaps a little raw, but forgivable for a youngster. Great front construction, well laid back shoulders and return of upper arm and slight spring to pasterns, mirrored by his well angulated hind quarters. Perhaps a little long through the loin, and moving he just loses his shape a little here. Nevertheless a great profile moving dog, who with maturity should continue to impress.

3. Parkinson’s Hologem You Were Made For Me.

Limit (3,1)

1. Parkinson’s Groomsville Hologem Heavens Dream. A real quality dilute brindle bitch who is totally unexaggerated and great for size and proportions. Excellent head, soft expression and well shaped and set ears. Graceful curves throughout the body with good depth and spring to brisket. Textbook hindquarters, well muscled and put to good use on the move. Covering ground with effortless reach and drive keeping her shape throughout. BOB & HG3.

2. Chaytor’s Starceylon Re Di Quadri at Ramita. Non dilute brindle and white trim dog. Refined throughout with nice head, good length of neck and curves to top and underline. Moved well, but not quite as a piece as 1.

Open (4,1)

1. Metcalfe’s Aarminias Dance Like A Dafty. This fawn and white male has a real quality to him. He is great for proportions and balance and is without doubt masculine. Stacked he gives a great first impression with curves in the right places. He moves well in profile, I’d just like him to be more refined in head.

2. Barkas’ Citycroft Line Of Duty. Very different to the class winner in type, and built on a more scopey frame. Particularly appreciated him for his excellent front and rear construction. Would like a little less length of loin, but despite this had great shape stacked and moving and displayed an impressive free and easy gait.

3. Swain’s Kirchilli Sweet Harmony.

Saluki

Post Graduate (2) A difficult class to assess- 2 playful litter siblings both proving to be challenging for their handlers. Could quite easily swap positions on another day.

1. Dugdale’s Typhoon Of Artemis. Shaded red 12 month bitch of nice size. Generally more settled than her litter sister today. Although she is built on a slightly more compact frame, today she was more settled moving and had a more free flowing stride in profile, keeping her shape on the move.

2. Dugdale’s Hurricane Of Hera. 12 month fringed red parti. Not quite as confident as 1, but has some nice qualities. Like her litter sister she was well balanced in front and rear angulation and had great shape to her. Preferred her underline, length of loin and proportions to 1. but had difficulty assessing her movement due to being unsettled.

Open (2)

1. Dugdale’s Typhoon Of Artemis. Repeat of Post Graduate.

2. Dugdale’s Hurricane Of Hera. Repeat of Post Graduate.

Beagle:

Post Graduate (4) 2 quality puppies headed this class.

1. Jones’ Clairdale Grantchester. Tan and white 11 month old male, well made all through and og good proportions. Pleasing head of good proportions and well set ears of good size and shape. Long arched neck leading into well laid back shoulders and level topline. Straight front with good return of upper arm and forelegs set well underneath the body. Moved well coming and going, really impressed me in profile movement with his free easy ground covering stride. BPIB.

2. Butters & Theobald’s Molesend Ibis of Breskar. Tan and white 6 month old bitch, built on a slightly longer frame than my winner. Great for size and although younger than some exhibits in the class, performed very well. Balanced in angulation fore and after, with great lay back of shoulder and return of upper arm, complimented by strong well bent stifles and low set hocks. Held her shape well on the move, carrying her tail correctly and moving with a free and easy side gait. Another very promising puppy.

3. Pockilington-Hall’s Bayard Be Good.

Open (5,1)

1. Jones’ Clairdale Fusilier. This 2 year old tri colour male caught my eye from the outset in this class. Compactly built of excellent proportions and balance. Masculine head of good proportions and pleasing expression. Excellent front construction with correct lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, elbows beneath the body. Ribs well sprung and reaching past the elbow. Level topline, short coupled with slight tuck up. Well angulated strong hindquarters and correctly set tail. Moved accurately coming and going, really excelled in profile, holding his shape at all times. BOB & HG2.

2. Stuart’s Kellitcreed Frozen Assets. A feminine tri colour bitch of good size. Very attractive head, correct set, shape and size of ears. Well laid back shoulder, but forelegs could have been slightly more under her body. Level topline and slight sloping of underline into well bend hindquarters. Not quite the fluidity in front movement compared to the winner of this class but used rear quarters well moving away and in profile.

3. Butters & Theobald’s Evalux Druid of Breskar (Imp ITA)
