Italian Spinone.

Thank you to the HPR GA for their invitation to judge at this show. It was a shame that it was the day after the clubs Championship and Open shows as this, and the terrible weather, affected the entry. I was, however, very pleased with the quality of the 3 that were at the show.

Puppy 2 (1abs)

1st and BPIP Barretts Barold Forever Faithful

8 month old bitch with correct head planes and correct eye colour and ear set. Top line is correct with the dip and then slight rise over the loin, good shoulder placement correct rear angle. Minimal tuck up. Lovely oval bone. Thick skin and correct coat texture. Was a little loose on movement but for age that is ok as will tighten up. Only criticism is tail set is a tad high but overall a quality puppy that should mature into a beautiful adult. She is one to watch for the future.

1st & Res BOB, Colwell’s Locuru Perpetual Spring.

This young lady was certainly enjoying her time in the ring. She is very well constructed with a lovely head and melting but cheeky expression. Correct top line with correct tail carriage. Good angles fore and aft. Good spring of rib. Minimal tuck up. Despite of her exuberance she did show flashes of good movement. Would prefer coat to be stripped a little more however it does have the correct texture. She made me smile with her antics.

Open Dog 3 (2 abs)

1st & BOB Cullings Locuru Blown Over

This stunning 2 year old male took my breath away and reminded me of one of the great Wynsett dogs from the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. He has a stunning head with beautiful eyes and expression. Correct ear set, well muscled neck into correct front. Stands square on well boned legs, great body, correct top line. Pounding movement with correct tick tock tail movement.
