Bedford & District Canine Society

Huge thank you to the society for inviting me to judge at the show. The journey was a little ropey with very heavy rain; fortunately it didn’t impact the entries too much. Thoroughly enjoyed with some super dogs to go over, pleased to see the ESS take the gundog group, the pointer take group 3 and the Lab puppy take puppy group 2. Thanks to my super steward who kept everything in order and moving along well.

1st Tenshilling Shboom Super puppy of 11 months (D). Well-built dog with super head and expression. Well-defined stop. Ears set on correctly. Neck long with a slight arch. Shoulders well laid back. Straight forelegs and a decent oval bone. Well sprung ribs and carried back. Well muscled hindquarters, with well turned stifle. Super feet. Super mover and with good drive.

1st Joneva Just One Wish 15 month (B) she presents a lovely picture in profile. Head is correct with well-defined stop and concave muzzle, well pronounced occiput. Neck long and well muscled. Well laid-back shoulder. Brisket to elbow. Forelegs straight, feet well arched. Muscled up in the rear, and well-turned stifle. Moved well but needs a little more drive – I think at 15 months she is just at that in-between stage of maturity.

1st Millpoint Golden Pippin JW A super little bitch coming up 2 years old. She presents a symmetrical outline with the series of graceful curves that standard asks for. Was a stand out today for me and wasn’t surprised to see her take group 3 today. Head is super with correct well-defined stop, pronounced occiput and concave muzzle. Correct ear set. Neck is muscular and relatively long. Shoulders long and well laid back. Brisket to elbow and nice straight forelegs with nice oval bone. Standing on oval and well arched feet. Ribs carried well back. Well-muscled rear with well turned stifles. Hocks well let down. Moved out really well covering the ground with a super drive from the rear. Ticked my boxes today very please to award her Best of Breed.

2nd Tenshilling To Sir With Love JW 2 year old (B) another that presents a super outline. Correct head. Decent ear set. Neck long and muscled, shoulder well laid back but a little heavy over the shoulder at the moment. Nice oval bone and straight forelegs. Super feet my notes say. Well-turned stifle and well-muscled hindquarters. Moved really well, would have just liked a little more drive.

1st Droveborough’s The Gambit At Vinepoint 3-year-old (D) one I have judged before. He is very much all male and a big lad, at the top of the standard. He certainly has an air of mischief about him, but he doesn’t disappoint for type at all. Super head very alert, Well-defined stop. Concave muzzle and well pronounced occiput. Well-muscled neck that is long. Shoulders muscular and well laid back. Brisket to elbow. Super oval bone and nice straight foreleg. Really nice oval tight arched feet. Hindquarters have super muscle with well-turned stifle. This dog really does have the potential to move with drive but couldn’t quite match the bitch today. RBOB

2nd Tenshilling Jimmy Mack JW 3-year-old (D) lots to like about this boy, my notes say he was piped for the top spot in this class, as I preferred the rear angulation on 1. Lovely head, super expression. Nice oval bone and stood on very nice feet. Forelegs straight. Neck long, well muscled. Well-muscled hindquarters. Moved out very well ground covering.

1st Saranden Book Of Dreams 11mth (B) Presents a nice strongly built bitch with broad skull, correct scissor bite. Neck strong into good shoulder. Good upper arm. Decent amount of bone. Good depth of chest. Nice level topline. Hocks well let down and good turn of stifle. True mover covering the ground well. Best Puppy. & RBOB

2nd Saranden I’m On Fire 11mth (D) litter brother to 1st. With very similar attributes all through. Short coupled and moved out well. For me had a bit too much coat on top and tail carried a bit of feathering.

2nd Potterspiney Ahsoka Tano 14mth (B) Nice broad skull and strong neck. Shoulders well placed. A little longer in body than I would like. Moved out well but a little messy behind. Nice tail carriage. Nice feet and good turn of stifle. Would like a little more bone.

1st Potterspiney My Soveriegn 14mth (D) Decent outline, short coupled, strong. Decent broad skull. Strong neck and well placed shoulder. Level topline. Good depth of chest. Good bone. Moved out ok covering ground but a little untidy fore/aft.

2nd Potterspiney Tickety Boo 5yrs (B) Thoroughly enjoying her day. Nice substance and good bone. Head is broad. Neck strong and good shoulder. Fair turn of stifle, would like a little more muscle. Good tail carriage. Nails a little too long.

1st Winsleywood Waghorn At Ravoakar JW 2yrs (D) Super in profile, short coupled strong. Broad skull, well defined stop. Neck strong into well placed shoulder. Correct amount of bone. Chest depth good with well sprung barrel ribs. Level topline. Good turn of stifle. Tail a little on the high side but didn’t deflect from the overall picture. Moved well fore/aft covering the ground well. Super feet. Best of Breed.

1st Cobhay Dashing Dandelion 12 mth (D) What a super mover. Good head proportions, correct ear set close to head. In Super coat, muscular neck of good length, Straight forelegs, elbows well set. Decent depth of chest. Well-bent stifle. Could be a little more muscular in the hindquarters. Moved well would have liked a bit more drive. 

2nd Cobhay Heavenly Hydranger 12 mth (B) Litter sister to the class winner. Very similar all through. Loved her head. Another in super coat, good length of neck. Lost out, as 1 was a little more together on the move today.

1st Chanangel When You Believe At Shersona 2yrs (B) Lovely profile symmetrical and showing super condition all through with a nice coat. Correct head proportions lovely ears set well and close to the head, muscular neck. Well-laid shoulder. Good depth of chest. Nice muscle in the rear with decent turn of stifle. Nice feet – compact and tight. Movement was good in in all profiles. Super coat condition and won on accuracy of movement Best of Breed.

1st More Than Amazing Wanna Be A Gangster At Spufing JW 20mth (D) masculine all through and well up to size. Was the best mover in the class, which won him the class. Good head proportions, nice ears. Neck Muscular and a good length. Well laid-back shoulder. Chest deep enough and well sprung ribs. Tail carried correctly. Pushed the post grad hard for the top spot but just couldn’t quite match the accuracy on the day. Still a youngster sure much more to come RBOB.

2nd Cobhay Fancy Phlox 5 yrs (B) another nice mover, but not as accurate behind as one, just wanted a bit more drive. Head of good proportions. Neck muscular. Well-bent stifle. Chest deep enough and well developed. Ribs well sprung. Not as much muscle in the hindquarters. Super coat and really good tight feet.
